We came to Olle for lunch, as we wanted to take advantage of their lunch menu. We went for their 'Mini Galbi + Naengmyeon' combo, in which you can choose between mul nengmyun or the bibim nengmyun. You get a mini burner with the claypot that had the braised beef short ribs, and an individual-sized nengmyun - the noodles were cooked well, and the bibim version had a super spicy kick. I wasn't really a fan of the broth of the mul, but the hubs enjoyed both. The galbi had mostly fatty pieces, and the flavor was more on the sweeter end; wished there was a bowl of rice or something, though, to sop all that sauce up! The banchans were a bit disappointing; the jeon was not that great, as it was mushy, and didn't seem to be cooked all the way through; could have been crispier. We were seated promptly, and the staff were friendly; they could be a bit more attentive, though, in terms of checking in with refills and getting the check. Avoid the restrooms - they don't keep them well, and it's pretty gross. +lunch combos +reservations accepted +friendly staff

The food here looks better than it taste. It's overall not bad but I think there is better available. Kalbi was not grilled and has pretty fatty pieces. Kimchi beef rib stew has almost no meat. Kim Chi is done well here but the rest is pretty average. Venue is pretty and staff is friendly.

Unyang bulgogi: SO DRY. Cardboard-y and meal-y. Crumbles under your chopsticks, and has had any moisture seared out of it. Do NOT order this. Skate fish: tender, but not very flavorful. Cold noodles: very sour. Service: unhelpful and impatient in ordering. Not attentive for fetching water either.

After a few days in New York, my mom wanted Korean food... I expected it! :) We did not make reservations as we were coming for lunch. When we walked in, we were seated almost immediately. The ambiance is modern, dark, with a slight twist of the Korean feel by utilizing the color brown. The service was slow as our server in particular seemed a little overwhelmed. After studying the menu and glancing at other tables to see what they got, the table next to us gave us recommendations. So there is what we ordered... Galbi Jjim (slow braised beef short rib) added the Bokkeumbab (fried rice) - Flavor was on point and the meat was tender. We were advised to leave some meat for the fried rice which is prepared table side. They chop up the remaining meat and added rice and other stuff to the plate and mixed it for you. You then wait for it to heat up to slightly scorch the rice before you enjoy it. 5/5 Byeong-uh Jeorim (spicy braised pomfret with radish) - We had to let it simmer for a while before eating as it didn't look like a jeorim. Once it simmered down, the flavor was good. I placed a piece of fish, radish, and sauce over my rice for a good bite. 4/5 Mini Sooyook (slow cooked pork belly) - We waited for it and it never came. When we inquired, our server said he forgot to put in the order. I regretted getting it since It was a little porky for me. 2/5 The banchans and dishes/plates used gave a very authentic Korean feel. I somehow expected the food to taste fusion but I was surprised how authentic it was.

One of the best galbi-jjim's I've ever had! Tasted like how my mom makes it! Decent space for seating, but I bet it could get very crowded during peak mealtimes, so reservations are probably recommended. We got the galbi-jjim for 2, with the addition of the fried rice and 2 naeng-myuns (cold noodles). This was for 3 people and we were stuffed! The meat in the galbi-jjim was so tender and flavorful, literally melts in your mouth. The naeng-myun noodles were chewy, with refreshing cold broth that just cools you down especially in the summer. Every side dish was perfectly seasoned, and the servers would come by to replenish any that were empty as well as to cook the fried rice in the leftover sauce of the galbi-jjim, which just elevated the experience. We also got a side of sundae (Korean blood sausage) to try, and it was delicious as well. Overall, I would definitely come back again. I would consider this place pretty expensive (came out to about $55 per person). But we were completely satisfied, and it's a great spot for good Korean food.

We went to olle based on my friend's recommendation and enjoyed it! We got the galbijim, bibim naengmyeon, and matcha lattes. The galbijim was the star of the show: super tender and flavorful, though with a bit of spice! I think the spice helps cut through the sweetness of the marinade. The naengmyeon was also refreshing and the matcha latte was surprisingly good. This was on the pricier side, though we all left very full and with leftovers.

Great for a group Korea town dinner! E. chose the spot and opened ordering with, "Who is in for hot soup" And most of us obediently raised our hands despite the 95 degree high of the day. The kimchi as a part of the banchan is solid. Galbi jjim is impressive wow, so tender and the Bokkeumbab add-on to the galbi jjim pot is a must. The servers are efficient and gracious, offering to cut up the noodles if desired. They are attentive and I appreciated how quickly they brought us extra napkins or anything else we requested. The Jang uh (eel) is amazing if you like unagi. And the kimchi jeongol is excellent too. Good-sized portions to share. Cold barley tea served with the meal. Make sure you make a reservation well in advance. Well-worth the experience.

It's been a while since I found an amazing Korean spot in KTown and this was it. I recommend almost everything on the menu

Restaurant with a nice ambience and a short wait. Service is good but prices are a bit high for the portion size. $80 for the galbijjim "for two" which is really only kind of enough for 1. Top up $12 for "fried rice" which is just the server bringing out a bowl of plain rice to mix in whatever's left of your galbijjim. Flavors are great, just wasn't prepared for the small portions.

I was able to get a last-minute reservation when they just opened at 5 pm. The place gets busy by 5:30 even on weekdays. The banchan are good, with unlimited refills, except for pajeon. Jokal muchim (cold pork feet salad) - it is spicy and lacks sliced pork feet, but has lots of cabbage. Golbaengi somyeon (spicy snail salad with wheat noodle) - it is spicy but refreshing on a hot day but I do wish they have more noodles to help with the spice. Galbi tang (beef short rib with glass noodles) - comfort broth with tender short rib and daikon

olle is so so good! some of the best korean food that i've had in new york. the ambiance is really beautiful and dim lit, upscale without seeming too stuffy and still very homey. service was fast and attentive. def make a reservation beforehand as it gets pretty busy. we ordered the combo of the mini galbi and naengmyeon, and it was so so good! the cold noodles have a delicious chewy bite to them, paired with the sweet brothy umami of the icey soup. the broth itself was quite acidic which i loved. the galbi itself was soft and tender, with a sweet sticky sauce that paired perfectly with the freshness of the noodles. the banchan was all very good as well. the lotus root was particularly stand out, with a great marinated crispiness. overall, loved the experience and all the food - flavor packed and full of heart!

A little bit pricey but very good tasting food! We enjoyed everything - mool naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, bossam, galbi Jim, bibimbap. The only thing that's not worth it is the bulgogi bibimbap, as it had the smallest serving of meat to rice ratio lol. Drinks were good too, especially the tangerine soju cocktail

Jennifer N.

Everything here was really good! No misses. My friends and I shared a few items, highly recommend: - Galbijim - Gamjatang - Eel - Cold noodles - Bossam One of the best korean food I've had in NYC

Reviews are largely positive. People praise the galbi jjim and fried rice, refreshing cold noodles, and fresh and varied banchan. The attentive and friendly service and modern, cozy ambiance stand out.

One thing I really appreciated was how good their ventilation system is. Unlike most Korean BBQ restaurants, you don't leave smelling like grilled meat, which is a huge plus! The best part? They cook the meat for you! Our server was amazing and made the entire experience feel so effortless. We could just sit back, relax, and enjoy our meal without worrying about cooking anything ourselves. A few things worth mentioning: The restaurant is on the third floor of the 315 office building, which was a little tricky to find at first. The elevator is also extremely cramped. It might fit a wheelchair, but I honestly wouldn't count on it without checking first. On the bright side, we had no issues walking in without a reservation! Overall, such a great experience! Great service, nice atmosphere, and no smelling like BBQ afterward. Would absolutely recommend and visit again!

This place just doesn't hold a candle compared to Howoo (or even Cote) in terms of "upscale kbbq"…read more Service was reallyyyy lacking- felt rushed, and at times even rude. Meat quality was good for the beef, but fair to bad for the pork (particularly belly was tough). I think it could be a decent place to get a casual meal with friends, but the prices are ridiculous for the quality and experience. One of my favorite things here was the marinated onions so that should tell you something about the meat. You'll leave smelling like smoke too which is always a letdown...

Sat at a high top by the bar and had a fairly light dinner. The Beef Tartare comes out with a cracked quail egg for you to pour into the meat yourself and the beef sat on top of sone sliced pear. It's a small appetizer but it tasted fresh and clean, the crispness of the pear matches well with the heaviness of the beef. The cured shrimp was delicious, I'm sad there was only 3 because I wanted 5 servings of it. The uni, roe, and soy shrimp practically melted in your mouth. The Uni Bimbimbap has rave reviews and I can see why. It was filling without being overly heavy and each bite had uni in it after mixing it up. If you're unsure about uni, this is definitely a great way to introduce yourself to it's flavor palette.

We stopped in for an early Thursday dinner, and while it was fairly quiet when we arrived, the…read morerestaurant filled up surprisingly quickly. The tables were on the smaller side, so things felt a bit cramped, especially when our entrées arrived before we were even halfway through our appetizers. I really dislike when that happens. It makes the meal feel rushed, and there simply wasn't enough room on the table for everything. We started with the beef tartare, which unfortunately was a disappointment. It was rather bland and lacked that richness and depth of flavor I was hoping for. Yes, there was a sauce underneath, but there wasn't nearly enough to make a difference. What it really needed was a beautiful raw egg yolk to bring everything together. That would have taken it to another level. I will say, though, that the crispy taro chips were very well executed, and that's coming from someone who isn't particularly fond of taro. Interestingly, the photo on their website showed lotus root chips instead. The perilla oil noodles were another letdown. They were beautifully prepared and cooked perfectly al dente, but once again, the flavor just wasn't there. Technically well executed, but not particularly exciting to eat. Now, on to the good stuff! The Truffle Potato Pancake was absolutely dee-licious! It far exceeded my expectations, and funny enough, it's something I never would have ordered myself. Definitely one of the highlights of the meal. The Hojok Galbi was also excellent, beautifully flavored and really enjoyable. My only gripe was the portion size, which was considerably smaller than what was pictured, especially since half the plate was taken up by salad. And don't get me wrong, I love me a good salad, but the dressing could definitely use some work. We finished with the frozen Makgeolli, which was such an interesting and delicious way to end the meal. That first bite had a pretty strong alcohol taste, but by the second and third bites, the flavors really came together, and it became absolutely delicious. A great refreshing finish. As for the service, our server had actually been very attentive throughout the entire meal, which made what happened at the end even more disappointing. Without asking whether we wanted anything else, she simply handed us the check. I understand the restaurant had gotten busy and they probably needed to turn the table, but how about a simple, "Can I get you anything else?" before presenting the bill? Anything would have been better than making us feel like it was time to leave. Overall, there were definitely some standout dishes, particularly the Truffle Potato Pancake and Hojok Galbi, but there were also some misses. Between the underwhelming flavors of certain dishes, the cramped table, the rushed pacing, and the abrupt ending to an otherwise attentive service experience, the evening felt a little uneven. There's some really good cooking happening here, but a few adjustments would have made the experience so much better.
