Pork ribs and Waygu brisket.
Ruth C.

Just in the town square of Blanco. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. They have an island on the way to the cashier with bottled beer, soda and water. They have happy hour drafts as well. It's a bit pricey, but the food is good! We had 3 large pork ribs and about a half pound of waygu brisket. The smoke is so good! 2 choices of BBQ sauce: spicy and sweet.

We arrived around 12 on a Monday and it looked busy as all the parking spot were full. We had to park a block away on the street. When we walked in, there was no line, multiple tables still free and lot of people were leaving. Guess we missed the lunch rush. We looked at the menu and there was a lot to choose from. The Wagyu brisket was already sold out...wondering if that is that is their prize meat. Guess I'll have to come back and try it one day. The drinks are can soda, tea, water or lemonade (sold out). Each member of our family got the Lunch special: meat sandwich, one side and a drink for $15. My husband got the pork sandwich and the seasoning on the outside was salty, but I'm sure it blends well when you take a bite with lots of meat from the middle. I got the brisket sandwich and it was meaty and tender. The bbq sauces were spicy or original. To me the regular tasted better. The spicy was a bit watery and didnt feel as spicy as I thought it would be. Our sides were the mac & cheese and cream corn. The mac was ok but I could taste the pasta more than the cheese. I felt it either needed to be more saucier or needed more cheese and it would have been perfect. The cream corn was amazing. It had a lot of sauce, pepper and flavor. My youngest got french fries. These were the best french fries I have had in a long time. They were hot, crunchy on the outside with soft potato on the inside. They were fat cut too. The dining area had a lot of signs and Texas decor. On the table was a sign to go dino hunting. There is a dinisaur hidden and if you find it, you get a free dessert. We didnt find it of course. Overall this would be a place I would stop in again, if I am ever in the area.

Stopped here for lunch as we travel from the RGV to Dallas. Good food, friendly staff, fast service, peaceful and calming eating place. You get your moneys worth. Over all nice place to stop and eat. Would highly recommended.

Pretty disappointed with this place. I was looking forward to trying it. Service was terrible from the start. The lady at the front counter seemed like she would rather be anywhere else than dealing with people. You could tell it was a spot for "locals" and people passing through got the step child treatment. Someone in my party ordered a chopped brisket sandwich and we were told there was a $1 fee for chopping the brisket. I have never heard of anything so outlandish before. Aside from the service, the food wasn't very good either. Make sure to have a fresh drink with you to wash down all of the dry meat they serve. Glad I finally got this place checked off of the Texas BBQ bucket list because it was the first and last time I will be there.

I've wanted to try this place but a while as I've heard great things about it. My wife and I went to Blanco for a Valentines Day together in the rain. It was good. The Angus brisket was tender but they're Mac and cheese (not the BBQ Mac and cheese), was just normal. However, I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Of course the company as well!!

Humongous portions! Tender and delicious!! Sandwich piled high with sliced meat. Easily 2 servings, maybe 3. Potato equally as huge 2 meals. I enjoyed being able to make my own Arnold Palmer so I got the portions exactly how I wanted.

Fantastic BBQ in Blanco! Stopped in during our trip and had the best brisket sandwich I've ever eaten -- perfectly smoked with that true pit flavor. The sides were awesome too! My husband had the chopped brisket sandwich, which was just as delicious. Great food, friendly folks, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Blanco!

Event room tables decorated for a wedding rehearsal dinner

We used Old 300 BBQ for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and we seriously could not have been happier. They have a private event room that's separate from the main restaurant, and it was exactly the vibe we were going for--rustic, warm, and inviting. From the moment we started planning, Shelly (the event coordinator) and the rest of the team were incredible. They made sure every detail was taken care of, and their hospitality and service were top-notch throughout the night. Everything turned out beautiful, and the whole experience felt effortless thanks to them. And the food is absolutely amazing!! We were able to offer our guests four types of meat, four sides, and three dessert options, and everyone raved about how delicious it all was. I highly recommend the banana pudding! It turned out to be a truly spectacular night, and Old 300 BBQ played a huge part in making it perfect. If you're looking for a place to host an event in the area, we highly recommend them. And we'll definitely be back next time we're in town to grab a meal in the restaurant!

Had a business meeting here and got a sampler plate to go, chicken, brisket, turkey with 3 sides ( corn , coleslaw, potato salad) with two large drinks =$65 I personally didn't like the turkey as it was more like turkey bologna that was smoked ( maybe that's what it's supposed to be? Smoked turkey bologna?? I wasn't really sure but that's the texture of it) The potato salad was mainly like mashed potatoes and purple onions mix 1/2 to 1/2 ( no one else liked it either, and I never asked them about it/ all volunteer opinions) " same about the beans " The brisket was pretty good The spicy bbq sauce good Corn rated as fair to midland / not bad but not good, just cream corn I like pinto beans so I got some unfortunately they were very bland and no extra flavor ( I.e salt , pepper, onion, garlic notes) Coleslaw I didn't try it, it mayo based and I like vinegar slaw, so can't say anything about it. Tea was self serve so I had lots of ice which some places don't give you enough ice anymore In general I wouldn't drive out of the way to eat here, it's just a handy location between San Antonio and Johnson city on 281

Where is the toy dinosaur?

It was hidden very well. You won't see it if you just walk around looking for it. My daughter found it today so the green little toy does exist 🦖…

Very rustic country location and once inside you know you are in a Texas country BBQ. Staff was friendly and helpful choosing our food. They suggested going with the family portions to share which was perfect. For 3 people we ordered 1/2 lb each of lean brisket (moist also available), turkey, and garlic sausage. For sides we went with coleslaw and charro beans. Way too much food for us, but perfect for a large leftover plate. Consensus of all three of us was: -Brisket had a perfect blackened crust, with a good red smoke ring. Very little fat and still very moist meat. 7 of 5 stars! -Turkey was well seasoned, very flavorful, and smoked to perfection. 6 of 5 stars! -Garlic sausage was the home run here. When we ordered they only had the garlic one left. I was hesitant to order expecting a strong garlic flavor. It was the perfect garlic hint of flavor with the amazing in-house made sausage. Outer skin had a snap when you bit into it and the flavor of the sausage is a melody of bbq flavor that overwhelms the taste buds. 10 of 5 stars! -Coleslaw was vinegary with some fresh sliced red pepper and fresh jalapeños which was a good touch. 5 of 5 stars. -Charro beans were flavored to perfection. 5 of 5 stars. -And we can't forget the bbq sauce. This was the perfect pairing for the meat. Obviously house made with the perfect balance between spicey and sweetness. Wife and I both said it was the best we ever had. Blows away the sauce from our favorite bbq location here in San Antonio. Another 10 of 5 stars! Fresh squeezed lemonade for all of us and they brought us free refills. Probably the best bbq we have had....ever!

You basically choose your meat, hot sides, and cold sides instead of ordering a traditional plate. The staff was super friendly and even let my dog wait in line with me, which I appreciated. Parking wasn't an issue since there's street parking available. It's also family-friendly with plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered my food to go, so I didn't sit inside or get a chance to check wheelchair accessibility. As for the food, the brisket was hands down my favorite, followed by the jalapeño and the cobbler. The jambalaya was my least favorite because it was a little too salty for me. Overall, the food was phenomenal, and the service was even better. Just be prepared to wait, especially on a Sunday afternoon. I'd definitely come back for that brisket!

The bbq itself is really good, can't deny that - but good LORDT two slices of (really excellent) brisket was near $20, alone. brutal. I had two slices of brisket, a small fist-sized handful of pulled pork, a small jambalaya, small mac n cheese, a Mexican coke, and the bread pudding.....$58 before tip. Be forewarned if you're bringing a date or your family of 6, it is pricey. Overall, I would highly recommend that expensive brisket and the bread pudding was DELICIOUS - if I ever go back I would get just these two, although the mac was also really good. Jambalaya was tasty because I had a craving and I enjoyed the duck in it, but nothing to write home about tbh - I'd replace it with a second bread pudding or get a larger mac n cheese next time.
