Cocktail hour was conveniently located at the top of the ceremony area, again with a beautiful view. Then, the reception area, was also just steps away. It was so rustic, comfortable, beautiful and laid out very thoughtfully. Plenty of room, organized. and laid out well with a low stage for the bride & groom, so everyone could see and feel included! It really was a perfect venue! I would like to add that Carriage Hills also provided a golf cart and driver to get my parents down to the ceremony and back up to the cocktail area, as they are not able to do steps.

He gives clients lots of freedom with his 'roadmap' So he can get a feel for your tastes but also keep to your schedule. For the day of, there were some last minute changes due to weather which impacted his timeframe for setup. He was so easy going, made adjustments and had everything ready in time. Lastly, Brett is awesome! He read the crowd, kept the dance floor packed... even though it was a small wedding, no one sat out the song choices. We like to refer to the wedding as the best disco dance party with a hint of twerk, just perfect.

Pistol Packin Paula was the highlight of the event for me!! She was a very knowledgeable person about everything in the museum and on top of that we got to see her display her amazing talents of gun slingin and bull whippin!! She made the whole tour very interesting with questions for us and "surprises" in certain buggies that definitely caught us off guard haha. Loved our time together and my thinking of bringing my parents here sometime in the future as they would love this! But my only request is that we get to have Pistol Packin Paula again to show us around!!

Our second stop this afternoon was the Buggy Barn Museum. What a cool place!…read more Frances Anne will greet you when buying your tickets. She has a lot of great stories and is so personable! Then, you wander around this Old West Town with a church, saloon, production office, Texas Rangers Headquarters and jail, mercantile, barber shop, undertaker and more! Some movies were filmed here and many of the buggies were used in films such as True Grit, Lonesome Dove, Hildago, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer and more. There are over 200 unique buggies, carriages and wagons dating from the 1860s - 1900s at the museum. Pistol Packing Paula was our guide and she knows everything there is to know about all the buggies in the museum. By the way, she's a world champion pistol twirler! Such a pleasure to listen to!
