Our favorite cozy wine tasting room. Ms. Raven is very accommodating for small gatherings and wine is quite good. We will be going back.

The Tempranillo also leaned on the lighter side, which during this 100+ degree heat is what I prefer.

Arrived on a rainy Saturday to a very welcoming bunch. Peggy met us at the door and said to sit wherever and they would come to us. Made our way to a cozy table and Connie came over with bottled water, a tasting menu, and a great smile. She went over options, asked about what we like, and we settled on a nice bottle that we could both drink and enjoy. By then, the owner, Pat, was set up and started playing guitar...he's a pretty good picker...and he sings about as well as I do...but still very entertaining. Great guy to talk with... Peggy did take me on a mini tour of their production facility...would classify this place as a nano winery...small batches done in a not so traditional way...mostly West Coast grapes and made in single batches and aged in carboys. The results speak for themselves...damn good wine at fair prices. Great venue...too bad it was dumping down rain...they have a couple of pergolas out back as well as lots of open seating..next time. When we finally had to go...2.5 hours later, we felt like they were family...very genuine people who love what they do and have a passion about their products.

The…read moresetting is peaceful, scenic, and grounding, with breathtaking vineyard views that I just couldn't get enough of! I can't wait to go back. My family and I went to La Contrada Vineyard and kitchen to attend a couple Goat Shenanigans events where we did goat yoga and painting with the goats at the vineyard and it was pure fun! I could not stop giggling the whole time. Throughout our yoga session, the goats would hop right onto your back as you did various yoga postures, and you could feed the goats while stretching in the sunshine. My daughter joined me during goat yoga and it turned into such a fun, bonding day for both of us. I suggest going during a time when you can enjoy the weather since this is mostly an outdoor facility. When we went the weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and the whole experience was enjoyable. We didn't order any food or drinks since we were at the vineyard for the Goats Shenanigans events (yoga and painting) however the breathtaking views alone, make it worth it to check this place out. Highly recommend if you want something unique and peaceful. The staff was also friendly and accommodating.

We used to come here…read morewhen it was Lara Vineyards, and the service and overall experience were noticeably better. It's disappointing to see how much things have declined. My sister is a member and hosted her 50th birthday here, so we expected a much higher level of organization and service. The party had already started and the rest of our group was there--we arrived late due to work and ordered food immediately when we got there. Right after placing our order, we were told we had to leave soon, so we asked to cancel it. Instead of handling this professionally, a staff member (River Dan) laughed and told us the food was "almost ready" because it had supposedly been placed 15 minutes earlier--which was not true. Another person in our party had ordered the exact same pizza before we did and was still waiting on theirs. We canceled our order, and their pizza didn't come out until about 10 minutes later. That makes it very clear ours was not "about to come out" like we were told. The explanation we were given simply didn't add up. Throughout the evening, staff seemed confused about orders. Drink service was also frustrating. I asked what a "zinpom" was, was told it was basically a juice wine, declined it, and specifically ordered a Sangiovese--yet I was still given the zinpom and then it was attempted to be charged to us. What made things worse was how the event itself was handled. My sister was never clearly given an end time when reserving the table. We were only told to leave about 15 minutes before the cutoff. At other wineries, guests are usually allowed to move to a general seating area after a private event ends, but here the only option was to leave entirely. Overall, the lack of communication, poor organization, and dismissive attitude from staff really overshadowed what should have been a special celebration. We expected much better, especially for a member-hosted event. If this is how members are treated, especially those who continue to frequent this place despite ongoing service issues, I can't imagine how non-members are treated

BREAKING NEWS!!!! Adega Vinho on A has opened for business…read more If like me, you're a fan of Adega Vinho than you will be as excited as I am. The new tasting room on Main and Adam's is located two doors down from Martini's Seafood or across from Market Platz on Adam's Street. Andy, Elena, and Michael picked a perfect location. I am able to get a glass to go while waiting on my reservation at Martini's or carry it with me as I tour the various events at Market Plazt. The downtown location has the same vibe as the Stonewall location with a twist. At AVonA you will be able to select from 16 wines from the automated wine dispensery. Each wine is kept at the perfect temperature. EVEN BETTER, is you can select from a variety of 3 different pours. A tasting pour (1.5 oz), glass (5 oz), and a TEXAS Glass (7.5oz). options. Most of the wines you find at the Stonewall location will be available at the tasting room downtown, however I am told that as the bottle new wines and some vintages may only be available at the Stonewall location. If you want to relax and purchase a bottle, that's an option as well. I absolutely LOVE the new location. Having late night hours on the weekends is HUGE for me and those who are looking for a late night location that offers 100% Texas wines. That is one of my favorite things about Adega Vinho. They are 100% Texas and unapologetic. They proudly support Texas Grape Growers but more importantly, they produce excellent wines.

He knows his wines and when I saw him, I knew we had found a great winery. The vibe is exactly what we were looking for on a Friday afternoon after a half day of work. Comfortable. Chill. Food truck with thin crust pizza and the most AMAZING truffle risotto. And good wine. All the wines were solid and indicative of well crafted Mediterranean (aka Texas) varietals. Some were fun, some were serious but all worth a try. Our favs were the Tannat and Semillion, but we'll be back when their Touriga's start getting released. (Hopefully later this year). I've seen so many good reviews on them, I can't wait to try them!

Originally part of the Circle H ranch, it is a great local spot with a laid-back vibe, perfect for those seeking authentic Hill Country charm. Owned by Kara Cleaver, who developed an interest in wines during her 30s and eventually decided to embark on this new adventure, the winery has been open since 2021. Kara has collaborated with experienced winemakers to craft her exceptional wines, each themed around the unique stories of the land from which they originated. The winery places a strong emphasis on sustainable practices, from grape growing to winemaking, and remains actively involved in local Blanco community events. The tasting room has a cozy feel inside and is built from repurposed and recycled materials, not to mention (again) the great views one can enjoy from the hilltop vantage point. There is a patio on the back and side of the space and ample outdoor seating with tables for folks to enjoy. There are several wines to select from on the menu. So, no matter what your fancy is, there is probably something on the menu you can find that suits you. For this visit, six of the wines were sampled. The first was the 2023 Trebbiano. This lovely white wine is light bodied with notes of stone fruit and lemon zest making this white wine very appealing on a hot summer day. Next was the 2021 Albariño. This full-bodied white wine sourced from the Texas High Plains AVA has citrus on the nose followed by a fair amount of minerality and good acidity. For the Rosé wine, the 2023 Ranch Road stood out as a light bodied and fruit forward wine with a light ruby red color. It is a blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris, sourced from Reddy Vineyards. Moving on to the reds, the 2023 Circle H was sampled. This red field blend from Reddy Vineyards circle field plot has a mix of just about everything. It is medium bodied with notes of blackberries, tobacco, leather and a touch of smoke. The next red wine sampled was the 2023 Petit Verdot. It has a lot of dark fruit going for this full-bodied beast and some firm tannins that grab your attention. Lastly, the 2023 Barrel Racer was sipped. This port style wine was aged in Garrison Brother's used whiskey barrels. Made with Syrah, it expresses some good notes of tobacco, cherries and chocolate all in one sip! It is a definitive sipper that is worth enjoying after your meal, or with dessert or cheese. The tasting room also has a kitchen in case you get the munchies. Live music from local musicians helps complement the cool laid-back vibe of this place along with your favorite glass of wine. The staff are very personable, welcoming and attentive. They want to ensure you feel right at home. Kara's new adventure is proof that life changes can be successful. Cheers!

It was early on a weekday off the beaten path so the winery was quiet. We were met with Kara and introduced to their winery and tasted their wines. The view was spectacular. While it's late February, it was already well into the 80's and sunny so we opted to enjoy everything indoors. My husband is a sweet wine drinker so we were disappointed that the sweet peach white wine was sold out. But, La Vie Estate is a small winery so that was not unexpected . Kara made some much appreciated wine tasting modifications for my husband. I'm a dry red wine lover so I found several reds that I really enjoyed. Meanwhile, Kara shared a lot of information on wine, wine-related information and their plans to expand a walking trail for their upper-level wine club members. We learned a lot. While we have so much wine at home already, we couldn't resist and ended up buying 3 bottles, 1 port and 2 Petit Verdot. So delicious!! We'll have to come back one weekend to enjoy wine, the view and live music. Maybe even some food. The sunset from their location ought to be beautiful.
