THE BLACK AND WHITE: We originally visited their main tasting room in Fredericksburg but glad that they have their wine room in Hye (closer to us as we're coming in from Austin). Coordinates focuses on South African wines however are sourcing more and more grapes from the Texas High Plains. We had a tasting of their Reserve red wines which included the pinotage, cabernet sauvignon, pinot noir, and the shiraz. I'm a big pinot guy and the pinotage hit harder than the pinot, so we ordered a bottle of that and enjoyed it in their sit down area with a couple of other regulars. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall a bottle of the reserve pinotage was ~$49 with a reserve red tastings (4 wines) starting at $25. Fun ambiance and will be back to try more South African wines.

I did a ton of research on pup-friendly tasting rooms prior to our trip and I'm so glad this place popped up on my radar. You can easily make a reservation on their website that gets you an inside or outdoor space for a tasting that is dog and kid friendly. Since it's August, and hot as heck, my husband and I (and our two dogs, Jake and Finn) were so thankful and grateful our reservation got us a space inside their super cute (and air-conditioned) tasting room. Not only were the wines delicious (we bought a bottle of Tempranillo) but we also loved the sandwiches and cheese boards. The indoor space is a good size (and cute and comfy!) and the outdoor space is huge. There are outdoor fans and a great grass area (sans sticker burrs) where our babes were able to run around, which is so hard to find this time of year. Delaney was our wine pourer Friday and again on Sunday when we came back because we loved it so much. She was so welcoming, friendly and excited/knowledgeable about the wine, which made us too! There were a couple of other super friendly staffers there both days (I'm sorry I didn't get your names!) who made our visits such great experiences. It was truly the best case scenario for us. He picked us up from our Airbnb and drove us 45 mins out and back, while we blasted some rachet songs to sing haha. He would check in on us during the winery to see if we needed anything or have any questions, and he would offer to help us take multiple pictures. He also got one of the wineries to allow us to explore their cellars! On our last day in Austin, he drove by our airbnb to pick up someone else and honked at us as we waited for our uber. Bob was our driver and his great demeanor added to our great day. He knew the area and many of the locations as he used to be the head football coach at Dripping Springs High School. Prior to our visit, Josh offered advice on where to go. Lezli picked us up at our B&B right on schedule. We were impressed with her knowledge of the area and its wineries.
