This might be the prettiest winery I've visited in the Fredericksburg or Napa areas, which is a bold claim, but probably accurate. I enjoyed almost all the wines I tasted and the snacks were delicious as well. However, what I like most is how unpretentious this place is. Although upscale and beautiful, the staff is normal and friendly like your neighborhood bartender would act. Most of all, I'll be forever grateful for their help making my surprise proposal go smoothly! We stopped by the Narrow Path tasting shop on Main Street during a recent stay in Fredericksburg. We did the whites/reds tasting, and, IMHO, the wines were just OK. Comparing the selections we tried vs. other TX wineries, the wines at Narrow Path lacked depth and complexity. The server in the tasting room was not really familiar with the wines she was pouring, constantly using her phone to read descriptions of the varietals and tasting notes. The cost of the tasting was reasonable, cheaper than many of the other tasting rooms on Main Street. One positive note about the tasting is you're able to walk with your samples into the shop next door which is owned by the same family, interior door access, don't even need to walk outside! This is a small place right on Main Street right near one of the central intersections. It was a great place to have a drink and hang out just before the Christmas parade! The server was kind and helpful, I don't remember what the tasting cost but it was less than the ones at the wine venues. I really enjoyed the Italian wine I had here too. There's a few tables inside and you can enjoy a glass of wine at the bar or take a bottle out to there secondary patio area, if you don't have reservations and they are booked up. There's a wrap around main patio with various seating options outdoors for reservations. Although there is a couple resident winery dogs, they no longer allow dogs on the weekends, or children. | Wine | They have some lovely wines. I prefer their whites vs. their reds, but there are good ones for both. They probably do blends the best, so it's good to do their wine tasting if it's your first visit. I really like their Marsanne and they make a really nice Rose. | Food | The charcuterie plate is one of the best and is chock full of great meats, cheeses, and fruits. Narrow Path was super cute. We came here with 8 of us friends to do a tasting. The tasting is super cheap and you get 5 wines to try. The whites/light wines were not my favorite, but I really enjoyed the reds. We also ordered a couple food items which were fantastic. Our server was sooo sweet. And the best part of it all were the dogs. Omg the owners have their 3 dogs in property and they are sooo cute and sweet, I wanted to take them home with me. read more

Beautiful venue, great wine, and consistently awesome experience make it the perfect combination. The staff are always super nice and helpful. They seem happy and it projects on their patrons. They change their wine selections often which I like because it gives us an excuse to come back. Modern styled venue is a work of art in itself and the cantilever patio area was pleasant even on a 85* humid day. Charcuterie board is worth a try too and portions were not lacking (coming from a guy that always hunts for the largest ribeye on a steakhouse menu). My husband and I finally got a chance to check out Narrow Path Winery and we were not disappointed. The wine was great, the views were incredible, the flower garden was absolutely beautiful the staff was friendly with great service. I was referred to this winery and the wine here certainly delivered. My family and I went with the $15 sampler (meant to be for 5 wines but our server let us taste all the wine on the list) Our wine server was extremely friendly and told us a lot of the wine we were drinking. Every wine we had was very delicious! My personal favorites were the Dreamchaser Blanc and Dreamchaser (Merlot), both of which were reasonably sweet but also fragrant and floral. We ended up buying a few bottles (which also allowed us to comp 2 of our samplings!). Regarding the overall ambience, the winery is beautiful, even in winter when the trees have lost color. While Narrow Path also has a tasting room in downtown Fredericksburg, I would highly suggest going to their actual winery where the tasting room gives you both the comfort of home and the classiness of a lounge. I would love to go when the weather is nicer to take advantage of their plethora of outdoor seating. I certainly plan on going here again! read more

Great service with wonderful wines. This vineyard has a tasting room off of Main and the vineyard is in Albert 20 miles North of Fredricksburg. They have a great tasting $15 for 5 wines, glass and a glass of wine. Which was nice because we sat outside under one of their Sun Sails looking over the vineyard. Narrow Path was our second stop for wine on Main Street. For $14 you get the choice of 5 wines and you get to keep the tasting glass. Our server couldn't have been nicer. She explained each of the wines we chose and was very friendly. I tried the sauvignon blanc 2013, the viognier 2014, the malbec 2012, the texas select red 2013, and the syrah 2013. The sauvignon blanc was a bit too crisp for my taste, and the viognier tasted watered down. The malbec was just ok, and my favorite was probably the texas select red. It was very earthy. The syrah was very typical for a syrah, but I'm not really a syrah drinker so perhaps I shouldn't judge. The tasting room is pretty small with three small tables and a tasting bar. However it's still welcoming, but just gets crowded quickly. read more

I've been here twice with my girlfriend and it has been a great experience both times. So much so that we have short-listed it as one of the wineries we try to visit and recommend to others. We always buy 2 to 3 bottles, enjoying one on their patio (we just can't help ourselves) overlooking their vineyard and some spectacular views of the Texas hill country. Only drawback is they don't allow you to bring your own snacks. The staff is professional, accommodating, and nice. We generally get a small sample of each wine before we have to commit to a bottle. TL;DR? This cute, intimate storefront on the main drag of Fredericksburg refreshes the spirit and the palate after the cattle calls of Wine Road 290. A stop here is well worth your time and money. My sister, mother and I moseyed on by this storefront during our last night in Fredericksburg celebrating my sister's 30th birthday this past weekend. We'd already been to three wineries that day, but this space shone. I've spent the past decade heading up to F-burg for bachelorettes, birthday boozings, and day trips. Narrow Path is above and beyond the rest. Is it the intimate and friendly customer service? Likely. The young gentleman let slip that he had been in the process of closing up shop when we'd wandered by, and then hastily assured us that he had no other plans for the evening and that we should take our time and feel welcome. He turned the "open" sign on the storefront around to "closed" while we were there, but then happily turned it back when a young couple met his eye from the street as he ushered them in. My mother and sister decided to share a sampling of the wines rather than each get one since we were on our way to dinner, and the clerk could not have been more gracious. It was also comforting to hear about his family's business in the wine industry, how the market has changed, and how after 15 years they're doing well with the increased tourism. Is it the tasty wines? Likely that, too. I'm not a fan of the sweet reds that Becker Vineyards and Fat Ass Ranch & Winery are churning out. This place did Malbec in a way I hadn't tried before but still enjoyed. The syrah, red blend, and viognier tastings were all delicious as well. Narrow Path Winery is owned by the Turbeville family who has been involved in the wine industry since 2002. They source the grapes for their wine from TX and California. You can select a choice of 5 wines from their tasting menu for $14, and keep the complimentary glass. The tasting room itself is quaint. It is narrow, and small, but they have done nice things with the space. There are one or two tables tucked away in the corners that you can sit at to enjoy a glass of wine. The bottle prices are in the lower range when compared with the neighboring Texas wineries. The wines we had were well structured and approachable. They are ready to drink now. The wine here was decent. The tasting room associate was interesting. He was knowledgeable about the wine, but his interactions with us were awkward. You could tell that this wasn't his passion in life. He had some very unique opinions about the Texas wine industry and those in it. read more
