Second visit to Six Twists ... our server this evening was Lorcan (sp?), he was awesome! Thank you sir! We did two "Somm's Choice" champagne/bubbles flight and were treated to many incredible bubbles. There are hundreds of bottles available, and everything we had was first-rate! We enjoyed the trio caviar flight as well, accompanied by crème fraiche, blinis, and chips. Delicious! Left with six bottles! Yum! Wonderful evening, bubbles and caviar in lieu of dinner. Fair trade! My favorite wine tasting experience in Fredericksburg! This was all sparkling wines-- I chose the wild card and it was amazing! Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly--she taught us so much about sparkling wines! The wild card featured wines from different areas that had different notes involved. My favorite wine was a rose from India! Inside, the place was very elegant, a little dimmer lit with gold accents and a moody vibe. The wine pours were full glasses of wine--definitely worth the price! read more

Just walked in on our visit and we were immediately greeted by the host who was very warm and welcoming! We were seated promptly (this was a Thursday night) and we purchased a bottle of the JCB rose burgundy and all enjoyed it. we even purchased a bottle to go! Definitely a chill laid back vibe. The wine selections and tastes of wines was perfect, but the real enjoyment of the tasting was the energy and love that Aleida put into her descriptions and discussions of the wine. She was knowledgeable , answered questions and thoroughly enjoys what she does. This made our enjoyment so much better! 10 stars champagne & caviar bar. If you are headed to wine country, do not miss this establishment. It is as good as it gets outside of a Michelin restaurant in France if you are seeking serious champagne and wines. Check out the story about the 3 co-owners, all special in their own way, but in particular Mr. Andre Boanda. If you're looking for an elevated champagne and sparkling wine experience in Fredericksburg, Six Twists is the place! The staff was very welcoming and friendly and the space is comfortable and classy. The chef was very accommodating when it came to my food allergies. We had the charcuterie board, truffle fries with garlic aioli and the bread board paired with a Pinot Noir. Everything was delicious. After the food we had sparkling wine flights, our sommelier, Lorkin, was very informative and helped us to decide which flights would best fit our tastes. My fiancé and I had such a great time here! We loved the relaxing atmosphere, the beautiful black and gold decor and more importantly the bubbles!! We tried the world tour champagne flight and it was an incredible experience. We also felt that their prices were reasonable-which was a plus! Bob and Andre walked us through each pour while showing us on a map the different regions that they came from. For a one night best friend impromptu trip this was definitely full of joy and laughter. The ambiance of the cozy little champagne bar and the decadent treats made it a night to remember. As we sipped on our champagne and indulged in the luxurious caviar while receiving the best service from two amazing gentlemen we couldn't help but feel grateful for the simple pleasures in life and the special moments shared. What a wonderful first visit to this house of amazing bubbles! Despite being extremely busy as it was New Year's Eve and they were preparing for an evening event, owner Melissa took the time to explain each bottle we were tasting. We ordered the champagne flight and the World Tour flight. I am happy that we ordered both flights, because we learned so much about sparkling wines from different regions with the World Tour. The champagne flight is worth every penny. I don't know where else in Texas you can sample $100 bottles of champagne. The pours are generous. We ordered the bread board which has locally made bread and comes with four delicious spreads. The owners are passionate about what they do! We appreciated the time Melissa spent with us and cannot wait to spend our next celebration there. read more

Fantastic idea and wonderful way to break up a weekend of wine tasting. This place offers reasonably priced, high quality champagne flights. On our visit Melissa was a fantastic guide and there was an around the world tasting with sparkling wines from all over, and a champagne tasting which compares more nuanced differences between champagne region producers. Melissa, Bobby, and Andre have created our favorite Fredericksburg spot! We wandered in on opening weekend and were greeted with open arms. We shared our sparkling tastes and Melissa served us a curated tasting, as well as a requested glass (or two) of a brut naturale - my absolute favorite. We have since visited multiple times and have recommended Six Twists to everyone we know! We love the chic atmosphere that lends itself to cozy conversations, whether at a table or at the bar. The customers are also quite pleasant, though we have experienced some bachelorette parties having quite the time! We adore the concept of sparkling by the glass (or bottle) and the passion the team puts in to Six Twists. We will continue to visit whenever we are in town! read more

I'm not one to do a lot of reviews but my wife and I were there for a private event this last weekend and... dang! Andre and the staff could not have done a better job. They prepared a great spread that everyone enjoyed, really fresh fruits, meats and cheeses. And the sparkling wines they recommended were spot on. The space is great too - pleasant environment, cozy in places and open in others. Can't wait to go back for a tasting. read more

We met Kevin while hanging out at Velvet just up the block from Six Twists - he suggested we go down and visit - my husband and I are super glad we did!! We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the entire experience from the moment we walked in the door!! They have done a beautiful job with the layout and interior decor. This place is SEXY!!! Great ambiance, knowledgeable staff and a vast line of champagne and sparkling wine. They even had Fiona one of the owners of the champagne there to greet us and discuss her line. It was a plus that they had done Taraji P Henson hand soap in the restroom. We visited Six Twists this past weekend - a truly wonderful experience! To start, the space is gorgeous - simply stunning from the wall of champagne displayed in the main room to the other spaces meant for a mixture of couples, small groups, and even a private room for a larger group. They have a variety of flights and an extensive bottle list that extends across the different wine regions. We had the pleasure of visiting with each of the co-owners. Melissa gave us a tour of the space and talked about their plans for the future- an expanded food menu and seating in the outdoor courtyard area are in the works! We decided on two different flights so that we could taste a variety of champagnes side by side. Bobby and Andre took turns bringing us our next glasses in our flights- they then took the time to talk about each champagne, the winery, the composition, and the style of each bubble- the experience was educational, fun, and of course delicious! We came in early afternoon on Christmas Eve and there weren't many people there and so we got a lot of attention from the owners. It was lovely. It quickly filled up but we never lost that attention. Everyone was given that same 5-star service! We ordered flights, flatbread, and pomme frites. It was delicious. The flight comes with 4 different pours. They serve one pour at a time and tell you all about it. Then they leave and give you time to enjoy it at your leisure. Some of these samples are high dollar and it's a treat to be left to enjoy it. When you finished our last sip, someone was quickly there to pour the next sample. We were there for about 2 hours but it didn't feel like it. There are a couple of different seating areas; a bar, bright areas with sofas, and dark cozy hallways with plush armchairs. The brighter areas would be good for bigger groups. Don't hesitate to try Six Twists because they know sparkling wines and how to entertain, and make you feel welcome. read more

Everytime we go to Fredericksburg we try to find a new gym. Well this time it found us. Last time we came we found the French Connection so we started our day there. Speaking with one of the wine guys he suggested we try 6 Twists. So after a great lunch at Grape creek we headed to the new place. Wow was it great! I'm not a big bubbly guy but their method of tastings and varied options made it really nice. My wife loves Prosecco, so Bob did a great Prosecco tasting. I am more a dry pinot based bubbly drinker and he custom made a great 3 bubbly tasting for me. The patio is really cool and their future plans sound really great. Suggest the ladies take girl friends there and everyone take your partner! Look forward to seeing the future of this place shine!! read more

Defined by scenic…read morelandscapes, rolling hills, and the gentle sounds of a breeze through the trees, the peaceful atmosphere for this family estate is quite appealing. The Signor's and Weisinger's have not only had a rich history of farming in the state but have also ventured into winemaking. Already seasoned stewards of the land, they knew quite well the rewards of hard work and patience. The Weisinger family began their winemaking journey in Oregon's Rogue Valley region before collaborating with their Signor friends. Situated on a bluff between the Pedernales and Grape Creek River, the current site on HWY 290 was acquired in 2010 with vines planted in 2015. The following year, they opened a tasting room. The estate grows 7 red varietals across two dozen acres: Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Tannat, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, Malbec, and Montepulciano. Additionally, they source grapes from vineyards near Fort Davis. The Member's tasting room is quite beautiful and truly stunning. Its décor just blends right into the landscape. Adjacent to that is an expansive outdoor patio. There are outside tasting tables on the patio with scenic views. The other enclosed tasting room is the harvest room with large indoor seating with views of the vineyard. Michael Barton has been leading their winemaking, adding his special touch of greatness to these wines. Starting off with the '20 Sauvignon Blanc, this wine was sourced from Oregon's Rouge Valley which was quite aromatic with kiwi and passionfruit notes. The 2nd white was the '23 Chardonnay. Also sourced from Rogue Valley, citrus notes were pronounced followed by pears. The23 'Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This' was an interesting Muscat blend. It was sourced from Texas Hill Country fruit with 25% each of Marsanne and Roussanne in addition to Muscat. It was quite a treat to have with honeysuckle and peach notes. For their Rosé wine, the '24 Rose of Mourvèdre was sampled. This Texas High Plains fruit had strawberry and melon notes. Moving on to the reds, the first one to try was the '22 Sangiovese with fruit from the High Plains. It poured a light red hue with herbal notes and good acids. Following that one was the '21 Dolcetto. This red wine with grapes sourced from the Rogue Valley expressed itself as light bodied with cherry notes. The '23 High Plains Tempranillo had a good balance of oak with dark berries and a dash of pepper. Cab Franc lovers never fear, their '21 Rogue Valley bottle was wonderful - spice, pepper and a rich deep feel. The Hudspeth County '23 Petit Verdot was next. This West Texas sourced beast was rich and bold with dark cherries, a touch of cocoa, and just the right level of tannins. The '22 Touriga was sipped and savored too - a smooth red wine with a classic strong nose, black pepper and excellent tannins. Next was the '21 Mozzafiato. This blend of Barbera, Primitivo, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto (Rogue Valley) was well balanced with a lingering feel. For the the '21 Estate Tannat, this big bold red envelops your palate with that full mouth feel of rich dark cherries and medium tannins. Finally, the '22 Grand Pere was poured. This mighty red wine was blended with equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc (Rogue Valley). It had beautiful notes of blackberries and plums, plus a nice balance making this wine quite versatile. Every wine on the wine tasting menu, (and a few unlisted) was simply fantastic! There is more that could be said about their history, initiatives, and of course the quality of wine here, but that should be saved for a future mini novel. The staff provided top service, offering guidance throughout each wine tasting session. Do check out Joanna's Market as well, which is in a classic farmhouse style home. There is an onsite kitchen offering a variety of options, but do try their famous Pozole. Your visit will impress you and leave you looking forward to a return stop again soon. Cheers!

They had a blast and the staff shared her experience/knowledge about her personal favorite wineries in the area. I am partial to William & Chris, Ron Yates, Adega Vinho, Ferris & Fletch, Becker, and Kalasi. However, she recommended several that I hadn't tried or at least not recently. Having individuals in the group that like sweet wines, she knew exactly where to send them. Personally, I tried several dry wines that I really enjoyed. If you have not tried Fat Ass recently or better yet, since the new ownership, I encourage you to drop in for a tasting.

If you like nice wines, though, I'd skip it.

They have a lot of outdoor seating - all of which is suitable for dogs. We took advantage of that. Tinker loved being with us and she enjoyed the space. As the sun got more intense in our outdoor space, we asked if we could bring little Tinker indoors. They said 'yes'. They were so kind about it. It helps that Tinker is a small dog and super friendly and a non-barker. Joslyn was our server and she was very kind and helpful. On our next visit to Fredericksburg, we'll definitely be back to Safari Winery.
