One of our stops on Main Street for a wine tasting. Three stars are for the wine and atmosphere. The servers didn't have much knowledge of the wines and talked and gossiped more with each other. Not sure I would go back when in town.

A relaxing wine tasting view

We had a wonderful experience and bought a few bottles here with our friends. The ambiance is just right and tasting pour was generous. There was a lovely wine expert, her in laws were the owner - I forgot her name but she did an amazing job and was so accommodating !

So many good options

This was a great tasting experience right in town! I've been to a lot, this was one of the most fun, they let you take your time and enjoy. For $25 you get 5 tastings and a "snack" - the options were a lunchable or a wood fired pizza...how is this even a choice? The pizza is to share with 1 other person but very big and the perfect amount of food to soak up the wine. The wines. All from Italy and just amazing. There are many whites and reds, sweet, dry, bubbly. The sommelier was lots of fun, knows a ton about the wines and seemingly loves what he does! We had a huge group of 14 ladies and they made accomodations for us. My favorite wines were pretty pricey but there was a range of price points available.

This used to be a great place to taste wine during the pre-Covid era. Unfortunately, it's a complete rip off now. Majority of the listed wines are relabeled products and bottles that you can get at Costco/H‑E‑B/Central Market for 1/3 of the price. Ex: Marco Bonfante Mascato D' Asti is not the same as the original from "Italy" as promoted from the original bottle. I can understand the budget cuts from troubling times, but when you can't even update the tasting menu with what actual product you're serving is straight up false advertisement. They will give you a whole scoop about what part of Italy and region it's from and how it's made. They should be honest about their sells and products no matter what! Unfortunately, Cross mountain lost our business for now. I hope changes are in the near future bc we loved the membership perks! Good luck CMW! P.S. Ye be warned of their peach and lemon wine. A nice find on East Main Street, with Italian wines offered. We entered and there are two rooms , the room in back is for wine club members only , private and looked pleasant. We found two seats at the bar , greeted promptly by an employee. The flights were explained and we chose the mixed group . Found they were enjoyable , we didn't feel rushed . The store is filled with wines that you can purchase and wine glasses . It's a neat place filled with nice Italian wines.

It was mine and my husband's first time doing a wine-tasting so we decided to stop by here Sunday afternoon while it wasn't too busy. We loved how relaxed and laid back it was. Martin served and guided us through the process and he was great and very friendly. My husband loves dry wines and I like sweet- Cross Mountain had different types to accommodate both of our preferences. We will definitely come back here next time we're in town!

We shared a few bottles of rosé and spent way longer than we planned because the atmosphere was just so inviting. The wine bar is set inside a beautifully restored historic home, with several cozy rooms that make it feel like you're relaxing in someone's stylish living room rather than a typical wine bar. It has such a warm, welcoming vibe. We loved that they also have a piano bar with live music in the evenings, it would be such a fun place to spend an evening! The owner even stopped by our table to check on us, chat for a bit, and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. That personal touch really stood out and made us feel so welcome. Whether you're looking for a wine flight, a bottle to share with friends, or just a cozy place to unwind after shopping on Main Street, I highly recommend stopping by. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Fredericksburg!

The two stars is NOT for the piano player Pierson Keating, who is great, for whom I would give 5 Stars. For clarification I have had a total of 3 glasses of wine since noon and it's currently 7 o'clock and I am writing this review as I am leaving. I have a strong understanding of TABC rules and regulations, and this question was misplaced and pretty rude. Pierson, the pianist, asked my group to sing a song we requested because he was unsure of the lyrics, then the staff asked the group to sit down. Not sure if this place is catered to the older crowd or just not accustomed to having girls who like to have a good time, but I wouldn't come back here if you payed me. Staff 2.7/10. Food 6.7/10. Pianist 10/10.

I had a group visiting from California and they wanted to visit both the California wineries here in Texas, as well as some of the Texas wineries that buy 100% Texas Grapes. During our Main Street tour, we stopped in for a tasting after visiting another 290 winery just down from you. The experience couldn't have been more different. They had a blast and the staff shared her experience/knowledge about her personal favorite wineries in the area. I am partial to William & Chris, Ron Yates, Adega Vinho, Ferris & Fletch, Becker, and Kalasi. However, she recommended several that I hadn't tried or at least not recently. Having individuals in the group that like sweet wines, she knew exactly where to send them. Personally, I tried several dry wines that I really enjoyed. If you have not tried Fat Ass recently or better yet, since the new ownership, I encourage you to drop in for a tasting.

The Muscat Canelli sang, the Blanc de Blancs popped, and the Ebullience sparkled. We came for one round, stayed for two, and left with full hearts and empty glasses. We spent Sunday afternoon at Inventions Vineyard, the kind of place where wine club members are treated like royalty with patio privileges. My wife (our household's official wine whisperer) and my mother-in-law joined me for the tasting, and the lineup didn't miss. I started with the Muscat Canelli, which was floral, fresh, and ready for its own slow-motion montage. My wife's Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay brought elegant structure and citrus sass, while the Ebullience blend in my mother-in-law's glass could've headlined a jazz club. The cheese plate came stacked like a savory topographic map; crackers, cured meats, sweet and tart fruits, pickled veg, and cheeses that didn't ask for attention but got it anyway. And yes, we added the Signature Meatballs, which were saucy, savory, and appropriately flanked by garlic breadsticks. Everything paired like it was planned by sommeliers with charcuterie PhDs. We went back for a second round of wine because... Sunday. A flawless afternoon of great wine, even better company, and a view that made time irrelevant.

THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here after one of our pickup parties to check out a new winery. This place is gorgeous and the owners put alot of effort into the vibe of the winery. Invention is under the Heath Family Brands wineries that include Grape Creek, Heath Sparkling, K Estate, and Jenblossom Cellars. We got one of their classic tastings that include 4 pours in which we got to choose. We got 1 white, 1 rose and 2 reds. The white and rose were alright, the tempranillo was the best tasting, however the wines here were just ok. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A tasting was around $30 for the classic. The sparkling wine tour looks fun and that's something I'd come back to see
