This was an interesting stop on our winery day trip in Texas Hill Country. There's an Indian theme undertone throughout since the owner is of Indian heritage. The water and snacks are served in steel utensils, and they even have an autorickshaw as part of the decor. We did the wine and chocolate tasting, they were paired quite well and left a nice taste on the palette. The chocolates were sourced from Austin based Madhu chocolates and also had delicate Indian flavors such as saffron, cardamom and lemon coriander. The server was very knowledgeable about the wines and also told us the backstory about the owner and her love of wine. Overall, we enjoyed the tastings although I would have liked a better seating area indoors since stools were limited and it was hot and humid to sit on the patio.

The wines here are awesome! We heard a lot about the Indian owner - they also serve Indian snacks, which are delicious. The wines are amazing, the pours are too little tho. That's my only complaint. Maybe they're standard, I don't know but compared to other places, I felt like I'm not getting a value for my money. I'll highly recommend it tho!

This was the BEST place we stopped on our tour! (And it was our 1st stop!). The staff was so friendly and very knowledgeable! She went into so much detail about how the wine is made and about the family that created it! Best tour and wine out there! Would highly recommend! Only thing I wish they had the lamas closer so we could see them better!

This family-owned winery features a modern tasting room and all-Texas wines. At the entrance there's a small patio overlooking a pleasantly landscaped walk, with additional outdoor seating options on the side. One of the owners is of Indian heritage, and I understand Kalasi means "gathering". Other hints include elephants on the wine labels, Indian decor in the restrooms, and delicious mini samosas on the snack menu. Enjoy a tasting at the U- shaped counter, or order a glass of wine to enjoy in front of the picture windows. Wine selection includes classics such as malbec and sangiovese, custom blends such as Re d'Italia, and more unusual varietals such as Teroldego. Placid and peaceful setting to enjoy real Texas wine.

The grounds are gorgeous, the wine-tasting room is huge and welcoming. You could spend all afternoon here and just sip wine and talk with server Paul, a way cool guy. Greg the husband of Nakita and co-owner of the business came in and spoke to us for a while. Great dude. The wines we had were fantastic across the board. My favorite was the Malvasia Bianca from the standard tasting menu (5x1oz pours) my wife and I both did. She also got the appetizer samosa and she enjoyed it she said. I like what this place is doing and how they do it with wine, unique Indian food pairings, customer service, ambiance and general feel of the place. Make sure to get Paul for your server and wine pourer, he is a class act guy to interact with.

Relaxing and friendly winery. I enjoyed a nice glass of white wine. Definitely feel like you are in the Hill Country with the outdoor area overlooking pastures of farm animals.

We stopped here on a whim right before closing. Small tasting room set amid a pasture near downtown Fredericksburg. Nice service. We are white wine drinkers, but unfortunately the one white on menu we wanted to try - the sparkling Muscat - wasn't sparkling and it was extremely dry compared to most other muscats we've had. We may stop by again if they broaden their menu to include some other whites.

I'm glad we got to visit this winery! The owner took some time to make sure we got a glass that we liked. The view outside was peaceful, we couldn't even hear the traffic.

    Dog friendly winery patio alert!

So I'll say right off the bat, Texas wine isn't normally my thing, BUT Kalasi had some of the best Texas wine we've tried. I Was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend getting a tasting flight. The sommeliers are so knowledgeable and really make the experience so fun! Note: this cellar has a dog friendly patio that I highly recommend checking out. The only rule - keep your pups away from the llama

Great find for red wine drinkers with few whites, property is calm and peaceful, Kalasi team does a great job with storytelling with a personal connection and wine is as diverse as the winemakers.

One step on this locale and you might want to take up permanent residence. Defined by scenic…read morelandscapes, rolling hills, and the gentle sounds of a breeze through the trees, the peaceful atmosphere for this family estate is quite appealing. The Signor's and Weisinger's have not only had a rich history of farming in the state but have also ventured into winemaking. Already seasoned stewards of the land, they knew quite well the rewards of hard work and patience. The Weisinger family began their winemaking journey in Oregon's Rogue Valley region before collaborating with their Signor friends. Situated on a bluff between the Pedernales and Grape Creek River, the current site on HWY 290 was acquired in 2010 with vines planted in 2015. The following year, they opened a tasting room. The estate grows 7 red varietals across two dozen acres: Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Tannat, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, Malbec, and Montepulciano. Additionally, they source grapes from vineyards near Fort Davis. The Member's tasting room is quite beautiful and truly stunning. Its décor just blends right into the landscape. Adjacent to that is an expansive outdoor patio. There are outside tasting tables on the patio with scenic views. The other enclosed tasting room is the harvest room with large indoor seating with views of the vineyard. Michael Barton has been leading their winemaking, adding his special touch of greatness to these wines. Starting off with the '20 Sauvignon Blanc, this wine was sourced from Oregon's Rouge Valley which was quite aromatic with kiwi and passionfruit notes. The 2nd white was the '23 Chardonnay. Also sourced from Rogue Valley, citrus notes were pronounced followed by pears. The23 'Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This' was an interesting Muscat blend. It was sourced from Texas Hill Country fruit with 25% each of Marsanne and Roussanne in addition to Muscat. It was quite a treat to have with honeysuckle and peach notes. For their Rosé wine, the '24 Rose of Mourvèdre was sampled. This Texas High Plains fruit had strawberry and melon notes. Moving on to the reds, the first one to try was the '22 Sangiovese with fruit from the High Plains. It poured a light red hue with herbal notes and good acids. Following that one was the '21 Dolcetto. This red wine with grapes sourced from the Rogue Valley expressed itself as light bodied with cherry notes. The '23 High Plains Tempranillo had a good balance of oak with dark berries and a dash of pepper. Cab Franc lovers never fear, their '21 Rogue Valley bottle was wonderful - spice, pepper and a rich deep feel. The Hudspeth County '23 Petit Verdot was next. This West Texas sourced beast was rich and bold with dark cherries, a touch of cocoa, and just the right level of tannins. The '22 Touriga was sipped and savored too - a smooth red wine with a classic strong nose, black pepper and excellent tannins. Next was the '21 Mozzafiato. This blend of Barbera, Primitivo, Sangiovese, and Dolcetto (Rogue Valley) was well balanced with a lingering feel. For the the '21 Estate Tannat, this big bold red envelops your palate with that full mouth feel of rich dark cherries and medium tannins. Finally, the '22 Grand Pere was poured. This mighty red wine was blended with equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc (Rogue Valley). It had beautiful notes of blackberries and plums, plus a nice balance making this wine quite versatile. Every wine on the wine tasting menu, (and a few unlisted) was simply fantastic! There is more that could be said about their history, initiatives, and of course the quality of wine here, but that should be saved for a future mini novel. The staff provided top service, offering guidance throughout each wine tasting session. Do check out Joanna's Market as well, which is in a classic farmhouse style home. There is an onsite kitchen offering a variety of options, but do try their famous Pozole. Your visit will impress you and leave you looking forward to a return stop again soon. Cheers!
