We loved this place! We'd stopped here on a previous visit and enjoyed it, so we figured we'd try it again - this time with our small older dog. Safari Winery is dog-friendly. They have a lot of outdoor seating - all of which is suitable for dogs. We took advantage of that. Tinker loved being with us and she enjoyed the space. As the sun got more intense in our outdoor space, we asked if we could bring little Tinker indoors. They said 'yes'. They were so kind about it. It helps that Tinker is a small dog and super friendly and a non-barker. Joslyn was our server and she was very kind and helpful. On our next visit to Fredericksburg, we'll definitely be back to Safari Winery. read more

Peggy was amazing! Great wines! They get you because the best ones are wine club only lol-so I'm a sucker and joined the wine club! Haha but all funny business aside, the wines are really good and worth joining the club. Also it's only a 2 shipment commitment and you can choose your wines which is different to most of the wineries wine clubs. Dawn was great for our tasting.... Not pushy and kind. Overall great service and ambiance. ! Oh, not many animals despite the name, but Dawn mentioned they have a couple of kangaroos, but not the zebras and stuff I was imagining. History

Established in 2019.

The Swahili word "safari" means "journey", and we want you to be a part of ours! We are a family owned winery who settled in Fredericksburg, Texas during the mid 1800s. We have always enjoyed traveling to different places throughout the years, and wanted to bring our travels to you by bringing in wines from different countries! We currently have wines from Chile & South Africa! We hope our wines can help bring people closer together and be a constant reminder of what life is all about!

All of their wines are brought in from Italy from a family winery in Tuscany. The Andreucci family has been making wine for over two centuries. According to their history, in 1810 the quartermaster for the French Army purchased wine from the Andreucci family to serve Napoleon's troops while they were in Italy. A reproduction of the receipt issued by the French Army is shown on the label of a number of their wines. Even back then they had a reputation for making exceptional wines. The facility is small and very bright and open, with a bar for tasting and seating ares as well. It is adjacent to the Alstadt Brewery along 290 and easy to get to. Plenty of parking is available as well. We were greeted by a lovely Italian woman (Erica) who served as our sommelier. She was an energetic and vibrant person who fully described all the nuances of each of the 5 wines we tasted. While some wineries offer a pre-defined list of tasting options, Andreucci has you select 5 wines from their entire offering list. I am more of a red wine drinker (though I do also like some whites) and my wife prefers whites, so it made for a nice option to be able to select what we wanted individually. I selected the Black Label Cabernet, Montepulciano, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Grillo. My wife also chose the Chardonnay and Grillo, as well as the Donna Alma, Primitivo, and Prosecco. Erica even brought out a sample of some amazing cheese to try with the red offering. Perfecto! All the wines we tasted were very good, and we settled on purchasing a bottle of the Black Label Cabernet and one of the Grillo. They offer a wine club membership (as most all wineries do now) and offer a red club, white club, and premium club option. No membership fees. We will definitely return to this lovely location and try some additional wines next time!

It was perhaps meant as a joke, but I didn't think it was funny. While the wine is good especially Nobilo Black Label, this kind of business should never consider a walk in as inferior customer. EACH customer is a potential return customer, a potential member of their elite "wine club"....! One can never assume .... They have enough business that my negative comment will not affect them. After 5 years of visiting this winery, I will go elsewhere.

We looked over the lineup and the Montepulciano 2022 was calling me. My wife latched on to the Tempranillo. No grapes are grown here it all happens on foreign ground. From grape to juice to bottle and label. Everything happens in Spain, France etc....interesting concept. We enjoyed our glasses that were served by young Madeline new to the industry and very nice. We were also enjoying new foals/colts on the property next door. Six mother horses and thier babies. The outside patio and grounds are very relaxing. I recommend Alexander Vineyard.

We walked around the adventure trail (since it was free) to get some steps in and have the kids burn some of their energy out while roaming around (minus my toddler, she would want to run away and fast haha so I changed my mind on that idea). The trail itself was open, spacious and a great way to get some fresh air. You can be lucky enough to catch some glimpses of some flowers that could be sprouting out even though there's not much! The shops: they had different types of store fronts, one for food/snack/pickled items alongside a small cafe where you can order beer and wine, another for more accessories, clothing and some planting items too! They had standing wine tasting area near the trail walking area if you want to walk around with some wine. Parking: so much parking, so definitely not to worry although I can image it being more difficult when the flowers really bloom in their field.
