The lady behind the bar ar Six Shooters Cellars on 6/13/26 (who I assume was the owner based on comments she made) was extremely rude. I've never left a review for anything, but I think people should be warned... if you're a white man with a beard or married to one, avoid this place. My husband and I went with some friends yesterday. My husband had never been to Fredericksburg, and I had only been once many years ago, but when I went many years ago, Six Shooters Cellars was one of the places I visited and I liked it so I wanted to show my husband and our friends. My husband doesn't drink wine, so I was excited when he decided to do the tasting with us. The lady said we could share tastings amongst the 4 of us, so our friends chose 6 and we chose 6 to share. My husband actually chose some, so when we got to the first one he chose, I said "hey this is one you chose," and this lady behind the bar said, "all white men with beards choose that one" and we were all kind of like "damn, ok" and I said, "really? Huh, I was going to choose it if he didn't" and she said yep, sorry but 99% of white men with a beard choose it because they think they're Vikings but they're not. Now, the name of the Mead was "Fate of the Gods". It did say something about Vikings under it which my husband never could've read because he didn't have his contacts in. We should've left then but we didn't. We were kind of caught off guard. Then while I and my friend were still sitting at the bar our husband's were looking at shirts they had for sale. My husband brought over a fishing shirt to show me that he wanted. My husband doesn't typically wear these kinds of shirts but he and his friend were talking about going fishing which my husband doesn't do much. They walked away to look at more and this lady behind the bar comes over to me and my friend and says, "that's the most basic bitch men's shirt" and walked away. Wow, really, what the hell??? I looked at my friend , "ok, that pushed me over the edge." My husband who was in a good mood, who likes to support the businesses we visit and like, walked back up with the shirt he was going to buy. I really didn't want to ruin his good mood, but I couldn't let him in good conscience give that woman any more money. We had already paid for the tastings before she made the last comment. We left. Obviously this white woman has something against white men with beards. I suppose one did her wrong at some point, but as a business owner, why would you take that out on your customers? Maybe see a therapist instead!! And keep your discriminating opinions to yourself. I felt terrible for having been the one who suggested we go there. read more

Small little winery located in Fredericksburg Tx. We went for my nieces birthday which was nice cause they were able to accommodate us for being such a large group. The women working that day were very sociable and let us sample the wines before purchasing. I ended up getting the strawberry mimosa which I really liked! It was really sweet. You can purchase by the glass or bottle. The only thing I didn't like was that one of the ladies kept making comments about our height. We're a short family. Once or twice ok it was funny haha. Warm welcome! 6 wine tastings for $22 Our wine connoisseur was very helpful, sweet, real,and understood exactly what we wanted. I was very conflicted and she was very patient with me. She did give me samples of anything I asked for which I really appreciate because her meads were very flavorful! They have more of the sweet and mead wines but they have 2 dries and they were very gooood! There is seating outside which shares with fiesta winery right across and there is unique seating inside with entertainment such as games. The poker table kept us entertained for about 2 hours. The raspberry mead had such an amazing flavor and smell, and the Minstrel's mead was dangerously smooth and sweet. Horrible service. My husband I and our couple friends went here on 12/23. The gal that was working/ serving us kept calling our husbands entitled white men and went off and some crazy leftist tangent the entire time we were there. She repeatedly insulted my friend for wearing a cross. All of this happened completely unprovoked! We did our best to not respond to her nasty comments and tried to change the subject multiple times but she was insistent on continuing her sexist anti religious rant. Six Shooters is a tasting room offering wines from 6 Texas wineries. According to one of the staff members you would have to travel 1,200 miles to visit each of the wineries, so save some gas and still get a unique experience at their tasting room. They opened on May 24th 2013 showcasing wines from Cowtown Winery, Clear Creek Vineyards, Yepez Vineyard, Cross Timbers Winery and Retreat Hill. The six shooter will be Blazing Barrels but they are still working on getting their bottles in the tasting room. The building reeks of history as it is located in a historical school and they relocated an 1800s Kentucky tobacco bar inside the center of the building. The tasting room is next door to The Pink Pig restaurant and the newly opened Fiesta Winery tasting room off of 290. Wine tastings are $10 for 6 pours and you can keep the glass. Honestly I burn out on Texas wines pretty easily but their wines, especially the reds, are excellent. I tried Cowtown Republic Red, Cross Timber Tempranillo, Clear Creek Reserve Zinfandel, Yepez Gran Mezcla and Black Bart Blackberry infused wine. I liked all the reds (5 out of the 6 wines tasted). The Tempranillo was light, the Zinfandel bold and spicy, the Republic Red a decent Malbec and the Gran Mezcla unique. The blackberry infused wine was not too sweet and reminded me of wines you would find in Door County, WI. We bought a bottle of the Zinfandel for ourselves and the blackberry infused wine as a gift. What impressed me most was the staff. They enjoyed talking about the history of the space, the wineries and were friendly. When I called and asked if their outside is dog friendly they replied if your dog is friendly they are welcome inside. read more
