Stopped in on a whim after my husband and I noticed this place carries mead. Very happy we did! Not only is the decor and vibe of the place very cute and unique, the owner is so welcoming and kind. She took the time to share her favorite meads with us and let us know about the different flavors and companies she buys from. It was right after opening so we had the place to ourselves and got to enjoy the ambiance. Highly recommend and the pricing is also very fair and reasonable. read more

We had the BEST afternoon with our pups at Six Shooter Cellars. Barb is an amazing host and is hilarious. She welcomed our pups in, gave them treats, toys, and let them have free rein of the place they were living their absolute best life and I've never seen them so happy!!! Was supposed to open at 12 noon/ we stayed until 12:40 and finally just said "screw it" and left. We weren't the only customers waiting. The sign said 12ish. 1240 isn't 12ish! Rude! Who knows what time they really opened. We left! Uggggh!!!! read more

Small little winery located in Fredericksburg Tx. We went for my nieces birthday which was nice cause they were able to accommodate us for being such a large group. The women working that day were very sociable and let us sample the wines before purchasing. I ended up getting the strawberry mimosa which I really liked! It was really sweet. You can purchase by the glass or bottle. The only thing I didn't like was that one of the ladies kept making comments about our height. We're a short family. Once or twice ok it was funny haha. But she kept going and going every time we went up to get a drink. After a while it wasn't funny anymore. read more

This place was AWESOME! A really great variety of wines and meads that I wasn't expecting. Lovely set up; books, games, poker, this places has an excellent vibe. My husband and I had lively conversations with the owner and couldn't resist coming back. Out of all the wineries in Fredericksburg, this is the only one we visited more than once. AND we plan to come back again and again! Cannot recommend this place enough. read more

Barbara is the best! She was so kind and very informative! Even offered to share her lunch with us!

The lady behind the bar ar Six Shooters Cellars on 6/13/26 (who I assume was the owner based on comments she made) was extremely rude. I've never left a review for anything, but I think people should be warned... if you're a white man with a beard or married to one, avoid this place. My husband and I went with some friends yesterday. My husband had never been to Fredericksburg, and I had only been once many years ago, but when I went many years ago, Six Shooters Cellars was one of the places I visited and I liked it so I wanted to show my husband and our friends. My husband doesn't drink wine, so I was excited when he decided to do the tasting with us. The lady said we could share tastings amongst the 4 of us, so our friends chose 6 and we chose 6 to share. My husband actually chose some, so when we got to the first one he chose, I said "hey this is one you chose," and this lady behind the bar said, "all white men with beards choose that one" and we were all kind of like "damn, ok" and I said, "really? Huh, I was going to choose it if he didn't" and she said yep, sorry but 99% of white men with a beard choose it because they think they're Vikings but they're not. Now, the name of the Mead was "Fate of the Gods". It did say something about Vikings under it which my husband never could've read because he didn't have his contacts in. We should've left then but we didn't. We were kind of caught off guard. Then while I and my friend were still sitting at the bar our husband's were looking at shirts they had for sale. My husband brought over a fishing shirt to show me that he wanted. My husband doesn't typically wear these kinds of shirts but he and his friend were talking about going fishing which my husband doesn't do much. They walked away to look at more and this lady behind the bar comes over to me and my friend and says, "that's the most basic bitch men's shirt" and walked away. Wow, really, what the hell??? I looked at my friend , "ok, that pushed me over the edge." My husband who was in a good mood, who likes to support the businesses we visit and like, walked back up with the shirt he was going to buy. I really didn't want to ruin his good mood, but I couldn't let him in good conscience give that woman any more money. We had already paid for the tastings before she made the last comment. We left. Obviously this white woman has something against white men with beards. I suppose one did her wrong at some point, but as a business owner, why would you take that out on your customers? Maybe see a therapist instead!! And keep your discriminating opinions to yourself. I felt terrible for having been the one who suggested we go there. read more

This is an absolute no miss place. Lots of interesting beverages to try, including a selection of spicy drinks - my favorite. The owner, Barb, creates a welcoming and fantastically fun atmosphere with her personality, available games, and local crafts for sale. We meet several really cool locals. If we lived closer we'd hang out all the time! read more

Warm welcome! 6 wine tastings for $22 Our wine connoisseur was very helpful, sweet, real, and understood exactly what we wanted. I was very conflicted and she was very patient with me. She did give me samples of anything I asked for which I really appreciate because her meads were very flavorful! They have more of the sweet and mead wines but they have 2 dries and they were very gooood! There is seating outside which shares with fiesta winery right across and there is unique seating inside with entertainment such as games. The poker table kept us entertained for about 2 hours. Great place and I would suggest to stop by and check it out yourself! read more

While we came in close to closing, person working had terrible attitude. Completely turned us off from staying.

My wife and I had a fabulous time here! We snuck in at 5:45pm just before closing and never felt rushed to leave. Both hostesses waited on us and we loved the fun conversations we had about life, etc and alcohol too. We both ordered different flights of 6 for only $18 and sharing is ok here at 6 shooter too. The raspberry mead had such an amazing flavor and smell, and the Minstrel's mead was dangerously smooth and sweet. Our fav may have been the Mango Mimosa custom spiked (at the suggestion of our hostess) with a splash of their Hot & Bothered Jalapeño spicy mead = Boom! Fun decor, just be yourself here! read more

Visiting Texas from Washington state (wine country) and stop to taste wine here. We were so disappointed. The wine tasted watered down and the gal who was working the counter clearly was not interested in conversation. We were done with our wine tasting in less than 10 minutes. If you truly love good wine, avoid this place like the plague & head next door to Fiesta wineries where the wine was superb & the staff friendly & engaging. read more

Great mead!! I'm personally a huge fan of mead so I may be biased but this Twas excellent! A lot of choices so be prepared for that! It's an quaint little place and the decor is super cool. Actually, my sister bought something off the wall. The employee Zach texted the owner how much it was even though she wasn't there and she responded quickly. Such a cool little spot and once again have to mention our man Zach! He was great, funny, and very professional about the meads. He should definitely be recognized! Again, awesome mead and great atmosphere there. Glad we stopped and will definitely recommend to anyone coming through! read more

Horrible service. My husband I and our couple friends went here on 12/23. The gal that was working/ serving us kept calling our husbands entitled white men and went off and some crazy leftist tangent the entire time we were there. She repeatedly insulted my friend for wearing a cross. All of this happened completely unprovoked! We did our best to not respond to her nasty comments and tried to change the subject multiple times but she was insistent on continuing her sexist anti religious rant. We left without finishing our drinks because she was so terribly inappropriate. read more

This was the last stop of our day and easily the best! We were pretty wine-d out so the owner let us split our tasting, and she chatted with us about her animals. She was super friendly & welcoming even though it was the end of her day too. The wine itself was also great, as we both prefer unpretentious sweet wine. Can't wait to come back! read more

Too many other excellent wineries in the area to have rude staff and poor wine selections. If you like sweet wine and hate white males this is the place for you. I was actually told I was stuck up because I prefer dry wines and then watched the staff roll their eyes and yell " that's a surcharge" to a family who broke into a beautiful song of amazing grace while enjoying their wine. of course the bar tender was offended, she's a "devout atheist". read more

We loved this winery because it offered us something from wineries all around the US. Barb recommended several local wineries and gave us insight to allow us to have the best trip possible. We valued her honesty and authenticity throughout our tasting. We just knew she wasn't trying to feed us information or good reviews for the sake of Six Shooter or anywhere around- and her straight forward recommendations allowed us to choose wisely in our tastings and get the most out of our trip. We would definitely come back and definitely recommend you come here! read more
