Pick up party. Petit Verdot is delicious. Wine-tenders are excellent. We picked up good wine.

Long time wine club member here. We love their wine. They have a wide range of selections. We especially like their red wines like Estate Aglianico, Triple M, Estate Merlot to name a few, although their Moscato, Piquette and Twilight Rose are equally great. The owners and staff are super nice and we always have a wonderful time visiting here. They recently opened the steak restaurant in the back. We haven't tried yet but we are going to pretty soon. Can't wait. There are a few hundreds of wineries in this area and it's hard to choose which one to go. Well, I recommend Longhorn Cellars. You will not be disappointed.

This was our first afternoon stop on our self-guided winery tour. The weather was gorgeous, and Longhorn was on a list of dog friendly places to visit. We grabbed a couple glasses of wine, a couple bottles of water, a packaged charcuterie platter and sat out on the covered patio to listen to some music. An enjoyable, relaxing start to the afternoon. Large Texas wine selection with their grapes and winery on premises.

This was one of the available stops on the 290 Shuttle and we figured it was worth giving it a shot. The gentleman helping us in the tasting room was super friendly so he was one of the highlights along with seeing the longhorn steer and donkey out back. The wines weren't our top favorite from this trip and we didn't find the grounds of their location to be anything real unique or a place where you'd want to hang out for long periods of time The inside of their main building was nice. We went for a snack pack while we were here and it was a pre-package offering rather than something freshly made or unique (but it hit the spot!).

If you want to experience the Texas feel and scenery while sipping on wine check this place out! This place has a very cozy feel with a great outdoor area with several couches available. They have live music and yard games for you to partake in. I had the rose and tried the sangria. Everybody loved the sangria and I enjoyed the rose. They have a great charcuterie board to go along as a great pairing for your wine. Fantastic spot for a place to start on your wine tour of Fredericksburg.

Very nice little spot, I loved being able to see the longhorns up close and the outdoor area was very relaxing. Lots of construction in the area so it looks like they may be expanding. I was surprised to see it wasn't as busy as the other wineries we went to. Tim was very nice and informative. They had this great deal of purchasing a case of wine - 12 bottles of the Cow Belle for $50!

We visited for the first time. They have a cute tasting room and cozy outdoor seating area. Tim was super nice to us. They have a good number of wine offerings. They also offer food- which is a plus. The only downfall is their wine club seems a little pricey compared to others in the area.

I was in Fredericksburg today to pick up wine from one of the 5 wineries I belong to (don't judge me because I am a "wino". Fortunately I took some backroads back to San Antonio and happened to see Longhorn Cellars. Wow, a hidden gem off of the beaten 290 path. Unfortunately COVID prevented us from stopping in and enjoying the tasting room, BUT, the number on the door allowed me to text and order my wine. What is awesome about Longhorn is that I could look at their website and see what I wanted and was able to text my order in while I was sitting in the parking lot. I was greeted by the owner who was sooo happy to tell me about the wines and even shared her favorites so that I could come back and sample when life returns to somewhat normal. We picked up 2 bottles to try and I am impressed, PLUS, the bottles are much more reasonable than other wineries in the area. I am looking forward to trying a port wine once they produce it. If you get a chance, stop by and visit one of the newer wineries in Fredericksburg as I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I AM! Oh, the bonus is that they have indoor seating which will be nice during the hot Texas summer.

Friendly staff, adorable dog named Sterling who made friends with our dog. Great wine! We chose to sit outside and were able to see the cows and horses grazing from the outdoor seating. They even keep a bag of horse treats on a table outside so that you can give the horses treats! Definitely recommend coming here for a tasting. 6 for $20! Great deal.

such cute decor inside!

The highlights were the cute animals on the property and the decor. This seems like a great spot to go with a group of friends and hang out for the afternoon. They had corn hole and ample outdoor seating with big fans to keep it cool. The wine was Texas wine, but they also had some good California wines available. All around a good experience and definitely a good spot for a group on your Texas wine tour.

Overall, there's better wineries based on the knowledge of the staff we had and the type of wines that they had. I don't think I would go back unless I hear news that things have changed. Winery: This is a very new winery that has been open for the last couple of years. It's part of the 290 Wine Shuttle Route. Longhorns: I came here on a Saturday morning right when they opened. Their iconic amulet is the "longhorn". We were told there were longhorns here that we can see, but when we got here and finished our tasting, it was hard to see any longhorns. There was probably one at the furthest end of the field, which was disappointing since my boyfriend and I are UT Longhorn fans. The only great longhorn we saw was the one in the front where we got a photo opt. Perhaps it was too early in the day for us to see real ones. Tasting: You have the option to do shared or individual wine tasting. I think for one person it was $20 for 6 wines. There's other discounts if you end up buying bottles of wines. There's mixed menu or all red menu. Wines: I did not like the wine selections here compared to other wineries I have been to. Nothing really stood out to me. Out of the 6 wines from the mixed tasting menu, I think my favorite was the Carlito ( red blend of petite sirah, souzao, aglianico, montepulciano) Atmosphere: As expected, the ambience was southern, rustic, barn decor with longhorn paintings hanging. There's a bar at the very center of the room when you first enter. Knowledge: This place is new, but has opened for almost 2 years. We had a new person that served us. She wasn't able to give us alot of details about the wine to further the experience. When we asked questions, it was clear she wasn't fully aware of the answer or had to ask someone else. Anyone new working should be paired with an experienced persons, so this doesn't happen.

Bar

The place had decent service - the wine could use some work though. Perhaps they'll mature over time. Six wines in the tasting, and only two were decent. Good staff. Good facilities. We only tried the wine, and some people were giving the sangria rave reviews.

longhorn cellars was a good experience mostly catering to locals. service was genuine, you can tell there is a family-owned energy.

We came here recentlyfor a bachelorette party, and after just having a terrible experience at Augusta Vin, Barelle completely turned our day around. Randy was our server, and he was AMAZING. We all fell in love with one of their Rosés -- easily one of our favorites of the day. Plus, we had a private room all to ourselves, and it was the cutest space, with a charming book wall and unique rustic decor. It made the whole experience feel intimate and perfect for our group. I also love that Barelle is a woman-owned vineyard, and all the wines they produce and serve come from female winemakers. It's such a great touch that makes me want to support them even more. All in all, Barelle Vineyards nailed it for us. Great wine, an amazing vibe, and fantastic service. It was the perfect place to celebrate, and I'll definitely be back!

The Fred area now features several wineries showcasing non-Texan styles--including Coordinates (South African) and Calais (Texas grapes with a French influence). Be sure to read up on the fascinating family history behind this winery! We sampled a variety of their reds, and every single one was full-bodied with its own distinct personality. The Cab Black was highly complex with lovely hints of oak. Their Chianti, the Costaveccia, was a traditional, high-end Chianti --dense yet smooth, and something I can easily envision pairing with my Sunday sauce. Another favorite was the Nero d'Avola, which drank incredibly smooth with a perfect balance of fruit and tannins. We were so impressed with their wines that we left with several bottles and a new wine club membership. The tasting room itself is bright, cool, and comfortable, complemented by a great patio, a spacious members' area, and a large function hall for events. All of their wines are brought in from Italy from a family winery in Tuscany. The Andreucci family has been making wine for over two centuries. According to their history, in 1810 the quartermaster for the French Army purchased wine from the Andreucci family to serve Napoleon's troops while they were in Italy. A reproduction of the receipt issued by the French Army is shown on the label of a number of their wines. Even back then they had a reputation for making exceptional wines. The facility is small and very bright and open, with a bar for tasting and seating ares as well. It is adjacent to the Alstadt Brewery along 290 and easy to get to. Plenty of parking is available as well. We were greeted by a lovely Italian woman (Erica) who served as our sommelier. She was an energetic and vibrant person who fully described all the nuances of each of the 5 wines we tasted. While some wineries offer a pre-defined list of tasting options, Andreucci has you select 5 wines from their entire offering list. I am more of a red wine drinker (though I do also like some whites) and my wife prefers whites, so it made for a nice option to be able to select what we wanted individually. I selected the Black Label Cabernet, Montepulciano, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Grillo. My wife also chose the Chardonnay and Grillo, as well as the Donna Alma, Primitivo, and Prosecco. Erica even brought out a sample of some amazing cheese to try with the red offering. Perfecto! All the wines we tasted were very good, and we settled on purchasing a bottle of the Black Label Cabernet and one of the Grillo. They offer a wine club membership (as most all wineries do now) and offer a red club, white club, and premium club option. No membership fees. We will definitely return to this lovely location and try some additional wines next time!

At that time, there was nothing going on and nothing growing so we decided to come back around when spring was happening. So this time around, definitely more popular, more cars and people wanting to check the place out. Essentially I was expecting this to be more of a field of flowers. But, it's basically that (although there wasn't much of it yet, just some flowers to see) and garden decor, pots, gifts, wine, pickled things, plants and LOTS of wildflower seeds to plant at home. The plants, some were decently priced, most were a little pricier. Just depends on which ones. Majority of the ones we wanted were a little better price wise vs going to home depot, at least we think so! We walked around the adventure trail (since it was free) to get some steps in and have the kids burn some of their energy out while roaming around (minus my toddler, she would want to run away and fast haha so I changed my mind on that idea). The trail itself was open, spacious and a great way to get some fresh air. You can be lucky enough to catch some glimpses of some flowers that could be sprouting out even though there's not much! The shops: they had different types of store fronts, one for food/snack/pickled items alongside a small cafe where you can order beer and wine, another for more accessories, clothing and some planting items too! They had standing wine tasting area near the trail walking area if you want to walk around with some wine. Parking: so much parking, so definitely not to worry although I can image it being more difficult when the flowers really bloom in their field.

I've never left a review for anything, but I think people should be warned... if you're a white man with a beard or married to one, avoid this place. My husband and I went with some friends yesterday. My husband had never been to Fredericksburg, and I had only been once many years ago, but when I went many years ago, Six Shooters Cellars was one of the places I visited and I liked it so I wanted to show my husband and our friends. My husband doesn't drink wine, so I was excited when he decided to do the tasting with us. The lady said we could share tastings amongst the 4 of us, so our friends chose 6 and we chose 6 to share. My husband actually chose some, so when we got to the first one he chose, I said "hey this is one you chose," and this lady behind the bar said, "all white men with beards choose that one" and we were all kind of like "damn, ok" and I said, "really? Huh, I was going to choose it if he didn't" and she said yep, sorry but 99% of white men with a beard choose it because they think they're Vikings but they're not. Now, the name of the Mead was "Fate of the Gods". It did say something about Vikings under it which my husband never could've read because he didn't have his contacts in. We should've left then but we didn't. We were kind of caught off guard. Then while I and my friend were still sitting at the bar our husband's were looking at shirts they had for sale. My husband brought over a fishing shirt to show me that he wanted. My husband doesn't typically wear these kinds of shirts but he and his friend were talking about going fishing which my husband doesn't do much. They walked away to look at more and this lady behind the bar comes over to me and my friend and says, "that's the most basic bitch men's shirt" and walked away. Wow, really, what the hell??? I looked at my friend , "ok, that pushed me over the edge." My husband who was in a good mood, who likes to support the businesses we visit and like, walked back up with the shirt he was going to buy. I really didn't want to ruin his good mood, but I couldn't let him in good conscience give that woman any more money. We had already paid for the tastings before she made the last comment. We left. Obviously this white woman has something against white men with beards. I suppose one did her wrong at some point, but as a business owner, why would you take that out on your customers? Maybe see a therapist instead!! And keep your discriminating opinions to yourself. I felt terrible for having been the one who suggested we go there.
