What a gem of a spot. Marti, Billy, Susan and Lane are so welcoming and friendly. Love that the tasting room is pet friendly as we had our little pup along for the trip. Absolutely the best choice to relax and check out the local flair. We were treated like family as opposed to just customers. This wine, in our opinion, does us proud and is the best Texas wine we have ever tasted. We were in Fredericksburg for 3 days and we managed to visit every day we were in town. We are so impressed with the wine and most of the staff that we joined the wine club. We are looking forward to our return in September. read more

Walked away with some merch I have gotten compliments on - trendy and classy but still going to rep this vineyard and tasting room across Texas! We walked right in and were seated at a table immediately. So it's not a huge spot, but there are lots of outside tables. Plus, the patio and bar area is super cute, and the vibes are great here. It wasn't terribly scenic with a view over vineyards, but there is an adorable backdrop where we took group and couple photos. We each got the tasting ($25). The woman doing our tasting was knowledgable and quick to get us through our tasting without rushing us out. The wines were not overly sweet and the tasting was very balanced. The Viognier was good, the red blend was delicious as well. We didn't eat here, but the menu looked decent for small bites if someone wanted to. Definitely would come back and split a bottle here, the wine was great and the ambiance relaxed and fun. read more

We started out our tour with the friendliest service this side of the Pecos! Amazing ambiance sitting beside the huge limestone fireplace on the porch, sipping Viognier... who knew it was the perfect breakfast wine! We had a scheduled tasting on July 4th and due to a major storm, the winery had closed. We showed up and our appointment was not on the books but the owner warmingly welcomed us in and started the tasting. There were several other folks that showed up to the winery and instead of saying we are closed, sorry, she called in reinforcement and opened the tasting room. I have a lot of respect for the owner, her knowledge, and the experience she and Lil provided today. The wine was AMAZING and I truly cannot thank them enough for their customer service and the great experience they gave to us!! We will be back! read more

Overall it was just OK, across the board in service, ambiance, and wine. If you want it to be folksy and a bit loud, that's the place. They are nice but the service is slow and they just plain forgot about us once. The wines were just not that great, we liked maybe 1. But if you like sweet wines you may enjoy some. read more

We drove past several times promising ourselves we'd be sure to stop. Once we did, I'm super sad it wasn't our first stop! From Ruthie, who did our tasting...to the owner, who made time to chat with us, we felt welcomed the minute we walked in! PLUS...the wine was amazing! Stopped here on a wine tour with Peach Express- the service was friendly, tasting was well hosted, atmosphere was great, and wine was above expectations! Give this family-owned winery a try! Glad it was very pet friendly. Stopped in today kind of last minute. So glad we did. 100% Texas wine with fast, friendly service. We did a mixed wine tasting and enjoyed every wine. Our favs were the Souzao, Tempranillo and Rose. The Rose was good and not too sweet. Tempranillo was very smooth. Our favorite was the Souzao, a type of wine made from grapes normally from Portugal. We left with a a couple bottles of Souzao, plus a Tempranillo and a Rose. read more

After a day of visiting different vineyards and wineries in town, this location did not come close to or to other locations. After viewing other individuals reviews and local recommendations, this is not a location for outsiders. This spot could be great for locals. Walking in, staff and guests, continued to stare at my partner unsure of what the issue was. There was a live band playing and we were excited to have a bottle a wine and listen to music. Staff at bar informed us that we were "welcomed" to go outside with our glass. As, we continued to stand there to try to hear the band, we were approached again by staff to go sit outside. We were the only people outside. Staff members continued to look at us as if we were going to steal the glasses, because they continued to look outside to us every couple minutes. As we returned the glasses, staff did not offer us more glasses or asked us if we needed anything else. They walked behind us and watched us drive off. Not sure of individuals personal views, but as people of different ethnicities, we did feel excluded and unwelcome. I am glad others were able to enjoy their experience there. read more

There are a lot of wineries on the 290 road that have grand entrances and a little more touristy. What I love most about this place is the staff and the ambiance. Our server was knowledgeable about the wines and she even suggested to us some more local restaurants in town. We loved the wine so much we bought about 4 bottles! Can't wait to open them at home. This was the first stop we made on the wine tour we took over the weekend and it was by far our favorite stop! Each employee was so nice, struck up a conversation with everyone and knew the wine we were tasting very well. The Malbec was AMAZING! Everyone in our group of 7 went away with a bottle. One of the owners was doing the tasting with us and she was so lovely. She told about how she got into the winery business and what she wants to do with the lovely place she has. This 100% Texas winery near Fredericksburg is a must for lovers of fine wines. Texas Heritage Vineyard started planting their vines in 2015 and opened the tasting room on Highway 290 in 2018. As we see with all young wineries across the globe, it takes time to evolve into the style of wines that fit the vision of the winery and the Johnson family has done a great job. Today we spent a little time with daughter Jessica and their winemaker, Tyler, and could really feel the sense of style as we tasted through their current wines. Of particular note is the current Lizzie Rose, which is sporting a lovely new label this vintage. And the Souza was bold but smooth and quite nicely balanced. Their tastings are now hosted outside and we were blessed with a beautiful day that enhanced the tasting. Add these guys to your list the next time you're tasting in the hill country! read more

The wines were delicious and they really seem to know what they're doing , despite their being a young winery. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We visit the Texas wine country every year. We try to find new spots every trip. We stopped in Heritage Thursday. The server was very friendly and the wines were good. The space has a lot of potential. It would have been nice to have had some background music (C&W or jazz) rather than ESPN blaring from the corner of the room. I'm used to seeing that at a sports bar, not a tasting room. The patio was beautiful if you kept you vision straight out- would be nice to somehow screen out the properties on either side. One last thing- the front faces 290- put blinds on the front windows to block out the constant traffic. This place has so much potential- I hope they succeed! read more

Established in 2015.

Owner's Billy and Susan Johnson planted their first grapes in 2015. With deep Texas roots, they decided to honor their family's histories with an estate vineyard and winery located just outside Fredericksburg, Texas. Long-time Texas Music enthusiast and supporters, the Johnson's hope to marry talented Texas Singer-songwriters and great Texas Wines, made by hand with love, in their tasting room and at their winery.

They had live music and great food and drink options at the head cabin. Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. Don't miss a tour of Signor Vineyards, a 10 minute drive West. The most beautiful vineyard and cool experience!

After finding a couple of places closed, we called Barons Creekside. Best thing we ever did! We spoke to Lasca, who was actually out with her family for dinner Despite this, she got us set up in the cutest farmhouse, gave us directions and instructions to get in, and after her dinner was over, she stopped by to check if we needed anything. The excellent service did did not stop there. We were treated like family, and we really enjoyed walking the beautiful, scenic grounds and hanging out at "The Club" on property! Next time we go to Fredericksburg, we know where we will stay - at Barons Creekside!

We got one of their classic tastings that include 4 pours in which we got to choose. We got 1 white, 1 rose and 2 reds. The white and rose were alright, the tempranillo was the best tasting, however the wines here were just ok. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A tasting was around $30 for the classic. I have a strong understanding of TABC rules and regulations, and this question was misplaced and pretty rude. Pierson, the pianist, asked my group to sing a song we requested because he was unsure of the lyrics, then the staff asked the group to sit down. Not sure if this place is catered to the older crowd or just not accustomed to having girls who like to have a good time, but I wouldn't come back here if you payed me. Staff 2.7/10. Food 6.7/10. Pianist 10/10.

Fabulous winery! One of our favorites. Good wines, friendly staff and can watch the seer on the patio. We love the Reds.... Tempranillo is always a favorite, but the new wines are great too... They gave me recommendations on where to do it, didn't charge a photography fee, and were genuinely excited for us.

We were pleasantly greeted by a lady at the counter who explained what to expect. We decided to go outside to the patio for our tasting and also a charcuterie board. The board was nicely done. Our server, Valente (Val) did a wonderful job explaining each pour and answered all our questions with authority. He's a fine young man who obviously enjoys his work and the wine industry. We enjoyed the wines and the whole experience so much we decided to become wine club members. There is a very nice B&B located next to the winery and we have already made reservations at the B&B for the September pickup party. Fredericksburg is a short drive from the winery and will make a nice two or more day trip. The wines are exceptionally good. Texas is really making some good wines.
