We were surprised that the wine selections were not from their own vineyard. The harvest is not ready yet. The staff was very knowledgeable however, and told us all about where the selections were sourced from. We really enjoyed the Reserve Merlot and the Chardonnay - Robertson as well as the Texas Blended. read more

We found this cozy spot along the Main Street area. It was nice enough to enjoy sitting outside to have our wine and the beautiful evening weather. We tried one red and one white glass to get an idea of their offerings. The gentleman to assisted us in making our selection was great at answering our questions and making suggestions. We went with the Picpoul which ended up being in our top three of Texas white wines we had this visit, and the Reserve Cab Blend as our red. Both wines were great to enjoy and ones we'll have again at our next visit! read more

Truly enjoyed our wine tastings at Coordinates Vineyard! Austin is a rockstar! He is so knowledgeable and gave such great service! My friend and I walked away with really helpful info about wines! The establishment is also open much later than other tasting rooms (9 or 10pm!) There are lots of seating indoor and outdoors. We really liked the decor as well. Great vibes and wines! A must go to winery and tasting room in downtown Fred! Just all round fun place to go with a great interior and back patio space. Austin the co-owner was there on our evening visit and he was a class act dude. Took great care of us during out whole tasting experience. We did the mixed tasting of 4x2oz each but he also gave us 2-3 more samples of other wines in South Africa which they specialize in. That was cool! Our talk and mingling was so fun and the wine itself was delicious! My favorite was the 2019 Sangiovese for sure. Nothing we had was bad at all, everything we would get again. This is a newer spot on the Main St winery scene but I can see it going places fast and growing quickly with wines like this and staff this cool. You must go here if your a wino in Fred. read more

We came to Fredericksburg for Memorial Day weekend and Coordinates easily became our favorite place in town. Our first night we stopped in for the $15 wine tasting and Austin (the owner) was absolutely phenomenal and a wealth of knowledge. He told us his story of getting into the wine industry and why they chose South African wines, as well as details on each wine we tasted. It was our first wine tasting ever and it set the standard for wine tastings, so much so that the others we did in Fredericksburg left us lacking and wanting to return to Coordinates (which we did multiple times). They offer mostly South African wines but a few Texas wines as well. These were the best wines we found in Fredericksburg and we left with double the amount of bottles to bring home as we did from all of the other vineyards in Fredericksburg. Coordinates is open later than most of the other places on Main Street and is easily one of the most relaxing places to take a break and just relax, especially after a long day on the town. If you need something refreshing during the day, they offer a Frose (frozen Rosé) which was absolutely delicious and we ended up grabbing one in the afternoons on our way back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. We ended our evenings at Coordinates relaxing on their covered patio in the back enjoying their wonderful wines and periodically conversing with Austin as he checked on each group that was there. Bottom line: if you want amazing and friendly service from a knowledgeable owner who operates the business, definitely stop in and relax with some fantastic wines. We will be coming back and will schedule our trips to Fredericksburg around returning to Coordinates Vineyards. They truly care about their customers and is literally the best place to stop at in Fredericksburg. read more

We visited the Fredericksburg Main St tasting room location over the Fourth of July weekend, so this review is admittedly delayed. However, we just finally enjoyed the bottle of Pinotage that we brought home from our visit, and I was reminded of what a great experience we had. We found Coordinates while wandering Main St because it was open later than most other stores/tasting rooms in the area, and I'm so glad that we did. Austin was helping several groups when we arrived but was still so attentive to our table of 2. It was such a pleasure learning about his time in Asia and South Africa as well as about South African wines--it's clear that he is passionate about what he does, and I especially appreciate that this is a family venture. This is a new and upcoming business. It was our first time in Fredricksburg, first time visiting this place. Austin (the owner) served us and was so knowledgeable of all of their inventory, and even shared with us his personal story of how the business started and the role that each of his family members play in helping to run this awesome place. He was so friendly, the environment is very welcoming, with indoor and outdoor seating. The decor and atmosphere was all created by his wife (who did an amazing job). The prices are competitive for sure. A run of 5 different wine tastings for $15 when other places only pour 3 (very small) tastings for double the price. Also, u can get a discount on bottle purchases depending what u get. They stay open much later than most of the other places in town. 5 stars. Definitely recommend. read more
