The piano inside 725, One of my favorite places!
    Anthony H.

I've always said that this place is a hidden gem of a venue. There are times where I've been inside as a couple and we have had the place completely to ourselves which is mind-blowing because it is so nice and upscale in my opinion

We made reservations for a Saturday night at 7:30p. When you arrive you are greeted with a cocktail and taken to the lounge. It was not crowded at all, and there is live music. The pros are the ambiance, live music and intimate vibes. The cons are the everything is expensive and if you order a cigar, you have to leave to the terrace to smoke it. The caviar and drinks are good. Overall, service was great and it's a lovely spot for a special occasion.

This please really is elegant and classy. Love the environment. Staff are nothing that I have seen before. They treat you like a king. Love the performing part. Food is splendid.

    A cavier bump

We celebrated NYE by going extra extra decadent this year. When we first walked in, our hostess greeted us with a little cute drink and proceeded to bring us to our table. We ordered the kaluga cavier, tuna carpaccio, lobster claw, fingerling potatoes and foie gras. For drinks we tried the intro flight and the old fashion. Since it was my first cavier experience, our server Duc recommended that we take a small bump of cavier and press it against our tongue. Just to fully immerse ourselves in the taste of cavier. Even though the kaluga is recommend for first timers. Cavier by itself was too much for me! I really enjoyed it when they were mixed with the accoutrements and blini. The crème fraiche and chives made this bump extra delish! My favorite dish from the night was the tuna carpaccio- it had this wonderful crispy garlic! The lobster was great and the pate tasty. For the champagne- my fiancé loved the tattinger and I liked the pol Roger. Would I come back? Maybe! It's super delicious and elegant but oh my, my wallet took a hit! My fiancé joked that he'd prob never foot the bill again. Room 725 is a nice place to go for a special occasion and definitely an experience for Austin.

Not surprisingly it's a bit pricey, but it's a great place if you want to treat yourself to a fancy night out! People dress up and the vibe is great! Small bites are good and you have to get the caviar (it's a caviar and cocktail lounge)

Came here for a very special birthday celebration. If you plan on drinking a lot obviously ride share but if you drive you have 2 options. There is valet but there is also a very small street area of parking right next to the hotel (we were lucky enough to snag a spot!). We met the host up the escalator in the second floor and they gave us a welcome cocktail and put us in the elevator to the 7th floor. We entered behind the gold curtain. The ambiance was and live piano player was divine. Service was impeccable and the drinks were great. I would not recommend ordering food. We had the fingerling potatoes and they were luke warm and lacked flavor. Only other odd thing was that in order to use the restroom you have to leave room 725 and use the one by the pool. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!

Free cocktail before they take you to the restaurant.

French 75 was delicious-perfect drink if you're not into sweet cocktails. The steak tartar was amazing. I have to say the caviar was yummy as well. Food was perfect for one person. I was pleasantly full. The service was on point-all friendly and helpful with recommendations. Would definitely dine here again at my next stay.

Celebrated Mother's Day early! My sister and I treated our mom to an evening and it was amazing. The ambiance, our waiter Victor, the amazing piano player!!! This special night was everything!!! We tried every dish on the menu except the fingerlings and opted to x2 the lobster... smart choice!! So amazing. Everything was. We just did a bottle of champs to share and then a special Mother's Day toast!

We went to room 725 for date night and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was very vibey - 1920s art-deco. The room itself was nicely decorated, with a pianist at the beginning of our reservation and then a guitar duo towards the end. The pianist was fantastic - playing a medley of bops that any 90s kid would recognize. The tables were set up so that there was a feeling of privacy without everything feeling disjointed. Our server, Victor was absolutely fantastic. Incredibly knowledgeable about all the menu items - the various champagne vintages and the different caviar on offer. The menu is not extensive but you're there for the champagne and caviar and they had a great selection of both. We did flights of champagne in order to try a variety of houses/vintages and it was great. The caviar spread was epic and delicious. We also had the potatoes (ok but not great) and the tuna carpaccio (also good but not the highlight). Overall it was an absolutely fantastic place - if you're expecting fabulous service and upscale pricing then I guarantee you'll have a wonderful time. If you are looking to spend less than $200 for 2, it's not the spot for you - but what you get is worth every penny. We will absolutely go back for another special occasion.

We had a wonderful evening at Room 725. This was our second time to visit and it was just as lovely as our previous visit. We love the specialized service of being greeted with a welcome drink and being led to your table. The art-deco elegant surroundings with the glass piano and live music add to the whole experience. Our server Victor made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening. Champagne selection and the caviar accompaniment were excellent. Austin has needed a place like this!

Victor and Sophia were wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and offered good conversation and service. We tried lots of champagne and the fingerling potatoes. French 75 and smoked old fashioned are probably the best classic cocktails I've ever had! The inside is decorated beautifully with different colors, textures, and lots of natural light. They had live music as well. Highly recommend.

My favorite part was the DJ was also playing electric guitar to accompany some of the songs in his lineup. It was really cool. I've never seen a DJ do that before. We waited maybe 15 minutes at the walk-in line as others progressively started to pile on behind us. Then again, even people in the reservation line were waiting. This is definitely the kind of place that wants you to wait. The kind of place that wants to build a line outdoors to intrigue onlookers. We were treated nicely, but we definitely could have gotten in right away. By the time we walked in, the place was probably at 60% capacity. It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. They ask for your cellphones upon entering and give you a key in exchange, but there doesn't seem to be any security to enforce it if you don't want to give them up. I have no problem with their policy, but I bet a lot of customers do. Interestingly, their little social experiment seemed to have a positive effect, where we ended up talking to strangers and vice versa. The Powder Room may be making America social again.

I usually only go to coffee shops to work, but today, went on a coffee date with my dog instead. There's ground floor parking in the garage that's complimentary for two hours. I kept it simple with a vanilla latte. I noticed they had tacos at the bottom of the food menu, but at $13.25 for two tacos + an a la carte item, I decided to pass. Maybe my expectations were too high (as usual) because it's inside a hotel, but I was hoping for the kind of warm hospitality hotels are known for, but instead, the service felt a bit cold. It didn't exactly make me want to spend more money there. While sitting on the patio, I spotted the food truck outside and thought, "PERFECT. A food truck HAS to be cheaper. Take that Simona's!" I walked up to the window... only to find out it wasn't actually a separate food truck. It was just the pickup window. To order? I had to go back inside to Simona's and place my order with the delightful staff... I ended up ordering two Blue Migas tacos, and honestly, they were just... good, but nothing memorable. They tasted like your average breakfast tacos that you can find all over Austin for less. Despite loving how relaxing the outdoor patio is with its lucious greenery surrounding you and the beautiful French chairs and cafe tables, it's located right next to the hotel pool. If you're visiting on a summer afternoon, expect some extra noise with pool guests. If you're looking for a quiet coffee or a place to work, I'd recommend coming early in the morning instead.

There's enough of a vibe for this place to feel lively even when it's mostly empty, yet it also avoids the earsplitting noise that may come with a more crowded venue. The bartenders are amicable, and the menu showcases some creative - and creatively named - cocktails. Lara went with a Moon Song (rum, blackberry, lime, and honey with lavender cold foam) and an espresso martini and enjoyed both. I opted for a zero proof drink: the high and mighty (agave, nonalcoholic ginger and floral liqueurs, jasmine tea, and spiced salt). It was refreshing but didn't quite hit the mark for me. What should have been complex and balanced came across as overly floral. All told, Marlow is worth a visit even if it is unlikely to wow you.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there. I'm not coming back.
