I love the ambiance of this lounge. It would be a great place for an intimate hang or date. It is not a good place for any groups. We came as a group and the table was tiny, we all had to hold our plates in our laps. I had the lamb meatballs and they were delicious. I really enjoyed them. A few people ordered some additional plates and drinks that never came out so the service is hit or miss. We had to have the remove it from the bill. The server was gracious and offered free house champagne but we wanted to leave by then. While our server was very friendly, they didn't come nearly often enough to clear the plates givem the teeny tiny table. It was the size of a tiny round side table and 8 of us were expected to crouch around it with all our drinks and food. Not a good place for dinner. Too bad because the lamb meatballs were delicious. Someone else also got the flank steak skewers are really enjoyed them. It is a very cool space though but no more than a group of 3. The lost orders were definitely an issue. read more

Always down for a new space and this one was unique. No reservation just walked in and was able to grab a seat at the bar. They got much busier as the night went on and around 11pm they pulled the bar stools to make it standing room only. Asked the bartender what they recommended and the espresso martini was immediately recommended. I do enjoy a good espresso martini and this one did not disappoint. The flavor was quite mild yet tasty. I had two while there and here's where the service kinda got lost. With the line at the bar, we weren't checked on and had to flag down for another round. The interior is dark and cozy with lots of seating area and they have an upstairs terrace if you want fresh air, I didn't go up so can't comment on the space. The ladies room was clean and a tad hard to tell if the stall was occupied or vacant. Only one sink and there were two mirrors, one over the sink then long mirrors right by the sink. I could see this getting crowded when they are very busy. I'd like to go back on a non busy night to spend more time and checkout the upstairs terrace. read more

$10 martinis and $2 west coast oysters! what else do i need to to say?! But honestly this place was awesome all around! Super cool vibes and the food was all reasonably priced for a downtown restaurant. Portions were a little small but it seemed to be more tapas style with delish and unique flavors. Highly recommend for date night or girl dinner read more

Hands down I think one of the best espresso martinis in austin, and I am not a coffee drinker. Always has the best music (especially CRG) and very vibey for some bites and meet up with friends before a night out, could also see this as a date night spot during the week to miss the crowd! read more

Devil May Care - Espresso Martini - Lounges Near Me - Austin, Texas

My friends and I had excellent dinner and drinks last night at Devil May Care! I love a tapas spot for dinner and all the food was so good. The mezze trio comes with Herb Labneh, Hummus, Pistachio Whipped Feta, Lavash, Crudite, and pita. The dips you could tell were all made in house and unique recipes with quality ingredients. The roasted carrots were delicious, and I loved the spiced yogurt sauce. Some of my friends thought it was too spicy though, so if you're sensitive to spice it might be too much. The cheese board had generous portions of cheese which I love to see. We also had the Brussels sprouts and crispy potatoes which came with more delicious sauces. Basically, if you're a sauce lover, you're going to love Devil May Care. The steak and chicken skewers were also a huge hit. The atmosphere there is lovely for a classy hangout or a cozy date night. We had a fancy little sofa and chairs for our group. My friend said the espresso martini was one of the best he has ever had. They have a good wine list too. The servers were all very attentive and made sure we had what we needed and were prompt even when it got busy. I can also appreciate they have a happy hour that lasts until 6:30, unlike many places that have one that lasts about 30 minutes at 3:00. It was all of our first time here and everyone wants to go back! I would have taken pics, but we were all just living in the moment and having a great time. Highly recommend. read more

Visited for the first time for happy hour and had a great experience! I ubered, but I do believe they have valet parking. My friend got there first and picked the table. A little corner seat for the 2 of us was perfect, until they seated a group of 10 people squeezed in next to us. They did not fit at the table and the volume was so loud we suddenly had to start yelling. It was awkward especially considering they said they made a reservation. Anyways, it took about 15 minutes for a server to come over to us. We wanted to make sure to put our order in before happy hour ended, and thankfully we could flag her down. Our waitress was so sweet! I had a gin and guava cocktail and my friend had a spicy tequila cocktail. We also ordered the dips - labneh, whipped feta, and hummus. It came with a ton of pita, but I also ordered the veggies like it would have come with on the platter. We wanted to order the platter, but were told it was cheaper at happy hour to order each dip individually. I'm not sure if that ended up being true. Either way, no complaints. Happy hour prices are great and our server was very friendly. We also had oysters and wine after happy hour ended. Definitely will go back. The space is like a basement speakeasy. Would be especially cool for late night! read more

Went for Thursday girl dinner and got the truff burger on the happy hour menu. It was good, but the stand out of the evening was the TOMATINI. I've been on the hunt for a solid tomatini and they do it right here. I wish it was on the happy hour menu because I easily crushed 2 of these + a dirty martini. I forgot to take a pic of the tomatini tho... oops.. I guess I have to come back! I also loved seeing lots of fellow girly pops having girl dinner and loved the atmosphere & service. read more

Devil May Care - Amazing ambiance, wonderful service and really flavorful cocktails. - Lounges Near Me - Austin, Texas

Oh wow, I dig the vibe. Though they get busy, it's not mad-crazy and in fact I'd rather relaxing, comfortable, welcoming, and cozy. The decor has a romantic vibe with the low-lighting, furnishings, and accessories. They have fun events like salsa and Cumbia nights, deejays, etc. I've not had anything from the food menu and do need to make sure to check it out next time. I saw some of the dishes coming out and they looked really good. The craft cocktails are really good too. Aphrodite's Pop=made with rosemary gin. OMG! The boyfriend likes the DMC Oldie=a take on the Old Fashioned. The N/A Gimlet rocks. Happy Hour every Tues-Sat (5-630 pm)=half off cocktails!! Friendly and sweet service. read more

My taste buds had the time of their life here. What went well: the vibes were set with the atmosphere and the menu was so good it was hard not to order everything. I originally gave this 5 stars but I quickly remembered we didn't have a friendly experience with the hostess which is why I'm giving Devil May Care 4 stars. I would 100% come back and eat here -- this was the best meal experience we had in Austin! read more

Devil May Care is a not-so-hidden speakeasy right on 6th street. We stopped by on a Saturday night after getting a last minute reservation. The inside is nicely decorated, but slightly brighter than you would expect from a bar and the music was too loud at times. We were there for just a light snack and some drinks. For drinks, we got the Ausmopolitan and the Beelzepunsch. For food, the two of us split the Cold Mezze Trio. Both the drinks were good, but they didn't stand out compared to other cocktail bars I've tried in the area. The Mezze Trio was great and came with a good amount of variety. I particularly enjoyed the whipped feta with the pita. Overall, it was a good spot for a date night. read more

Came in on a random sunday for a snack and a drink w some friends. It was by reservation only however they had a rooftop terrace table open for a party of 3. Seating on the terrace was our door furniture which was very low to the ground, uncomfortable to sit on to try and eat, waitresses were also struggling to set things down on the tables since they were extremely low. Cute place to grab a drink and food if you sat inside... highly recommend reservations although a few years ago you could walk in and find a spot no problem so I was unaware it's now mainly reservations. Brussel sprouts were delicious, nice and crispy and full of sweet and spicy flavor. Espresso martini was not espresso flavored at at- taste just like a chai milk tea. The spitz was okay, as expected I suppose. Staff was kind and music selection was on point. read more

I don't usually go to cocktail lounges, so this was a rare occasion for me. I wanted to attend the MLS all-star game after party that was being hosted here. I naively assumed current MLB players would make a possible appearance (as was promoted by When Where What Austin in their event spreadsheet), come to find there was instead a sizable group of FORMER MLB players! All jokes aside, the atmosphere and drinks available here are top notch. They are $18 each so not cheap, but not an arm and a leg. I tried two off their menu- the Strawberry Kiwi Soda and DMC Old Fashioned. The soda was one of the best cocktails I've ever had, and the Old Fashioned was smooth as well. I'm still not a fan of them (since they are strong), so probably won't ever order one ever again. I assumed the extra ingredients/mixers would make an impact, but it wasn't noticeable. Great music (featuring a familiar face in DJEU from my past home Atlanta), tight-knit dance floor, and small group booth seating all around! read more

Cute spot and well decorated for Christmas. However, the hostess was super rude and we could tell she had no desire to be there and it showed. We sat at the bar by the entrance and watched her be rude to all the other guests that arrived, so I guess we weren't the only ones. I ordered the Sin Gimlet and I hated it -- super sour and just not tasty at all. The server never checked back on us, except to give us the bill. read more

We chose Devil May Care to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. When I made our reservation a month in advance, I noted that we were celebrating our anniversary and asked for the best seating available. Despite arriving on a packed Thursday evening, we only waited about five minutes before being seated. The service was exceptional from the start, with our first round of drinks personally delivered by the lovely boss lady. We started with the Tomatini and the Solstice. I expected the Tomatini to be similar to a Bloody Mary, but it was surprisingly light, slightly sweet, and the basil gave it more of a fresh caprese-inspired flavor. It was unique and delicious. The staff noticed our initial table wasn't ideal for an anniversary celebration and graciously moved us to a much more intimate booth. While we waited for our food, they surprised us with complimentary bacon-wrapped dates and two glasses of bubbly to celebrate. Those thoughtful touches made us feel genuinely special. Thursday specials were another fun surprise. The $10 martinis were fantastic, and I loved the "Girl Dinner" special--a Caesar salad and fries. Cute, simple, and delicious. My $10 Cosmopolitan was excellent. For dinner, we shared the prawns, chili chicken, and lamb lollipops. My husband was especially impressed by the perfectly cooked lamb, but honestly every dish was outstanding. Between the intimate atmosphere, attentive service, creative cocktails, delicious food, and all the thoughtful anniversary touches, Devil May Care made our 20th anniversary celebration feel truly memorable. We'll absolutely be back. read more

A fabulous speakeasy with craft drinks, a dark sexy interior, and delicious looking food. Their happy hour is such a great deal (half off specialty cocktails and food). This place should be 6 stars. I had the oysters and burgers on happy hour, as well as the lamb meatballs off the standard menu. I also had the stirred daisy cocktail and a glass of wine. Happy hour cocktails are half off, oysters are $2 each, and a burger with potatoes is $12. I'm not sure you can find a better deal with better food in Austin. Burger was worth $25+, lamb meatballs were perfect, cocktail for $9 was incredible. Place was very nice inside and also quite busy for a Thursday early evening. Service from bartender was great. My wife and I enjoyed our time at Devil May Care. We went to see live jazz there. It's amazing to listen to soothing music while also enjoying the ambience, good and drinks. I am sad to be writing this review because I wanted to love this place. My bf and I were visiting from Dallas & my friend recommended this place for happy hour. The vibes inside were stunning & the service was fantastic. Unfortunately, short moments after consuming the oysters, I became violently ill and was sick all throughout the night. We had a short trip in Austin so this ruined the stay for us since I was unable to move from the bathroom floor. I love oysters and consume them regularly, so it is not common for me to experience food poisoning after eating them. It was some of the worst pain I've ever been in read more

The food was delicious here , the decor was fun and interesting and options for nonalcoholic drinks! I would only come back here for those reasons as the service was uncomfortable and not the greatest from beginning to the end. We were a party of 6 on a Saturday night. Our friend the birthday girl asked a question about a drink and the waitress Ana Giselle P was not helpful or was like it's just like our classic drink and we were like ok.. what's the classic drink? We inquired about the delay in our lamb lollipop because we ordered it at the same time but only one came out. She then brought out 2 more when we had only ordered 2 so we sent the 3rd one back. Towards the night when we got our bill, she charged us for 3. I had to find somebody else to help correct that error who fortunately was able to. Ana eventually came to us with the corrected bill and while we were paying she was just leaning against the wall, not being friendly, hardly said anything to us and we were all just feeling the awkward vibes from her. Maybe she was having a bad night. * SPICY RIGATONI - tomato, garlic, chili, Parmesan $14 * CLARIFIED PINEAPPLE GARIBALDI - NA Aperitif, Clarified Pineapple $12 * MOROCCAN SPICED HUMMUS - Tahini, Salsa Macha, Cilantro $12 * CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS - Sumac Honey, Spiced Yogurt, Pickled Fresno Chili $10 * PARMESAN TRUFFLE FRIES - Chaat Masala, Zhoug, Jalapeño $14 * LAMB LOLLIPOP - yogurt, salsa verde, pistachio, lemon $29 * FALAFEL - Muhammara, Herbs, Aleppo $10 * GRILLED PRAWNS (4) - Bagna, Pepitas, Lemon Zest $25 read more

Good vibes until you have to order from the incredibly miserable woman bartender with short hair and a terrible attitude. I mean I get it... it's late, you probably don't want to be there but holy moly... yelling at your patrons wanting drinks is just crazy. Alright, Devil May Care. You earned a 5th star from me. We just spent three nights in ATX for a girls trip - and we ate and drank our way through the city. But one of my top favorite bites was the "Cold Mezze Trio" from Devil May Care... and paired with the MOST PERFECT PITA. How on Earth do y'all make it? It's so fluffy and dressed in-I believe to be- herbed olive oil. The Mezze Trio ($25) features a small serving of herb labneh, hummus, pistachio whipped feta (perhaps better than ABA), crudités, lavash, and that yummy pita. If you want a speakeasy vibe with a slightly older crowd, live music if you're lucky (pianoman singing covers or cumbia band for example), and savory Mediterranean bites, do DMC. Oh, and they have oysters. I'll try them next time. read more

This place is an acquired taste not everybody might like it, but I do. It is a mood in and of itself. I feel like this place has something to offer to everyone and it really depends on where you are seated. We always get this corner booth that makes you feel like you're somewhere in the Mediterranean doing something you're not supposed to do but I guess that's the vibe. they have live music, a big bar And good drinks. Their kitchen is open until 10 PM after which the entire seating opens up and then turns into a club. They also have weekly jazz nights if you're interested in that I typically recommend getting a reservation before showing up here the Mediterranean dishes that they serve like hummus are good if you're in the bar scene in Austin definitely check it out read more

Extended HH on Wednesdays. Half price cocktails, mezzes, and bottles of wine. Quirky, hipster, speakeasy vibe in the basement (they have an outdoor patio as well). Service was exceptional. Well made cocktails (try the Hellfire). Ordered a variety of mezzes - feta and olives, Moroccan humus, and pita bread are top notch. $2 oysters hit the spot. Brussels were awesome. The HH burger/fries and chicken skewer made it all a meal. Non-HH food prices are still reasonable and cocktails are Austin appropriately priced. You might know Devil May Care (DMC) as a trendy underground lounge with delicious drinks and a DJ spinning vibey beats on the weekends, or as a cozy Mediterranean spot serving incredible food in a dimly lit, romantic atmosphere for dinner. Here to break the barrier and say it's time to be acquainted with both! I highly recommend visiting during happy hour, where cocktails, wine bottles, and mezzes are half off! Happy hours are on Tuesdays, Thursdays through Saturdays from 5-6:30 PM, and Wednesdays from 5-9 PM. If you stay past dinner on Wednesdays, DMC hosts their weekly Cumbia, Salsa, and Bachata nights starting at 9 PM. The kitchen closes at 10 PM! Food: I originally came for a private Yelp Elite event and immediately fell in love with the food. What to order? Honestly, everything. IT'S THAT GOOD. Mezzes: the Moroccan Spiced Hummus with pita bread and the Roasted Heirloom Carrots with zhoug dip. Skewers: ALL. Hors d'oeuvres: the East Coast Oysters and Lamb Meatballs Dessert: the Baklava Signature Dishes: I tried the Harissa Truffle Burger and the Lamb Lollipops, but feel it's unnecessary if you stick with the mezze menu. Everything was unbelievably delicious, with each dish perfectly hitting all the right notes--whether savory, spicy, or sweet. Nightlife: I hate how hot, steamy and packed it gets in here. The air is suffocating!! They need to limit the amount of patrons and turn up the AC PLEASE. read more

For a spot that gives off "club vibes", we were pleasantly impressed by the intimate environment with some tasty menu items that hit the spot. A pleasant surprise to learn about the Saturday Happy Hour too! 50% bottle of wine and $2 East Coast oysters. Would definitely order the whipped feta as a starter and the lamb lollipops. Great juiciness, textures, and use of herbs and garnishes. The lamb lollipops were served with a salsa verde, but honestly, the lamb was so well cooked you really don't need sauce. The falafel was served with a muhammara and YUM. For a table of two, I'd suggest serving 4 lollipops. I understand the "odd number" rule, but it was kind of hard to share the third lollipop between two, when the lollipops are small to begin with. Not quite sure why female servers seem to have a mandatory dress code of short and tight black dresses (reminds me of Posh Spice lol)...In fact, it felt awkward watching the majority of them uncomfortably bend down with their heels to serve us our meals and simply pour water in our glasses. Part of me felt bad and it did mix with the impression of our visit. We do look forward to visiting again, trying some of the larger entrees, maybe this time sitting at the bar. read more
