8:30 PM on a Saturday night with the Bistro closing at 9:00 PM, four of us found The Bistro. Crew was cleaning up and the kitchen was shutting down. The owner checked with his staff and seated us. Rustica Shrimp Plates and a Basil Pesto Salad x 4 and it was incredible!! Highly recommend you make the trip to Blanco! Great wine selection topped it off! read more

Looking to take a scenic route home in Fort Worth from New Braunfels we decided to take the River Road to Sattler to Blanco for lunch. This proved to be a terrific choice. Very cool venue over looking the river with a nice deck for dining in fair weather. We decided on the Reuben and a cup of the potato soup to share. Both were absolutely primo. Excellent. i'm saying very good. We'll most likely never be here again before we go to see Jesus but if we are we'll be here for lunch. I went here for lunch on a Friday. It was my first time there. We opted to eat outside, as the weather was nice. Our server was Tate, he was very nice and a great server. My husband and I both had the chicken fried steak. The steak was angus beef, super fresh and delicious. The steak was so large, that I could only eat half. The side salad (not shown) was also very fresh and delicious. The entire restaurant was very clean and the entire staff were friendly and professional. This is a dog friendly place and they provide water bowls for the fur babies. Since we're close, we will be visiting again. read more

A friend told us about this place and went on and on about how good it was. We had never heard of it before, but we decided to give it a try. Blanco is a small town so finding it was not a problem. In fact, it is near Blanco State Park which means we have driven by it before. On the day we went, we drove up and found the parking lot to be completely full. With parking spots unavailable, we parked down the street at a church parking lot. We walked up the ramp to the front door and stepped in. We were immediately met and greeted by someone just inside the front door. He escorted us back to our table in one of the rooms overlooking the Blanco River. Almost immediately, our waitress appeared and placed the menu on the table. This was at lunch, so the menu is not the full dinner menu. We both decided on burgers that are made with wagyu beef. They both came with a side and were made to order. Our meals were delivered pretty quickly. As they are made to order, you have to expect a little time for preparation. The food was seasoned very well and cooked just like we like it. I have to say that all the help that we encountered were exceptional. They really know service. Will I return? Definitely, as we want to try the dinner menu. read more

Sometimes the most unexpected places surprise you the most. Arriving pretty hungry I just expected a sandwich and some chips, but Blanco Bistro had all kinds of unexpected options. The restaurant is situated on the river and has a nice outdoor patio. Started with the shrimp appetizer that rivaled shrimp paesano. It had a light batter and parmesan butter sauce. A wagyu patty melt was delectible with Russian sauce, Swiss cheese on a fluffy sourdough bread. The server was so nice and checked on us often. Got the strawberry salad with chicken, my husband got the apple salad with chicken, my parents got the shrimp pasta. Everyone loved their food. I wish I would have taken pictures of the food, but it was gone before I had a chance. From the moment we entered to the moment we left everything was great! The owner was at the front greeting everyone and the servers were friendly and professional. The food though OMG, we had the chicken egg rolls, shrimp bistro and the all American burger and EVERYTHING was delicious . There prices were on point too! First time ever going there. We just moved to Blanco and found a hidden gem! They are going to temporarily close for 7 days to revamp the place with a new name. Soft opening is August 18th! You can call to make reservations. I highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure you ask to meet the owner Tina! she is friendly and makes you feel right at home! The most adorable hidden gem in Blanco. This place is right off the river and offers indoor and patio seating. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Our food was all delicious. I had the salmon strawberry Gorgonzola pecan salad. The pesto vinaigrette dressing was so fresh and delicious. My daughters loved their burger and club sandwich. My husband had a Rueben that was also great. We were just passing through town and my daughter said she was sad that this place is not closer to where we live! Must try y'all. We've been wanting to try this place for a few years but when we go to Blanco I'm always drawn to Old 300 BBQ as it's one of my go-to places. Today we finally made it for lunch. The great reviews are fully justified and there is little I can add. The service couldn't have been better. The food was excellent and we still brought home enough for another meal. That they only serve Real Ale beers (brewed in Blanco) certainly wasn't a problem since Fireman's 4 is one of my favorites. Outside seating was very good, overlooking the Blanco River. Playing hookie from work and doing some shopping in Blanco with my Honey. Took a Yelp recommendation and gave this place a try. Arrived for lunch to a full house and was still seated within 10 mins. Manager and wait staff were very attentive and help us pick our lunch. Rueben and smash burger were both very good. Come hungry, they were huge sandwiches! Waygu burgers in Blanco! Very clean restaurant. Well prepared food. Extremely nice waitstaff. The only thing I would suggest is not to cook the waygu burgers well done. 130°F - 135°F is best or else you'll render the fat too greasy and toughen the meat. Which is what my experience was. I'm sure they have multiple cooks so don't let my review keep you from trying this place out. Just make sure you tell them how you'd like your burger cooked. read more

The food was a such a great deal while being fresh and absolutely delicious. Cheeseburger was flavorful and juicy. Chicken stripes were house made and juicy.
