on February 18 around 1:50 PM have lunch with my lady . The place was very tidy and neat. Very clean looking. So we decided to sit outside and we waited for the server to come. He finally came. And we ordered drinks and he immediately brought the two . He took our order and brought us our food. The food was very, very good. When it came time to pay, the server got upset because I was using one dollar coins to pay. I was paying in American legal tender one dollar coins and he says we do not accept this as payment. I said they are legal tender one dollar coins and he says again we do not accept this kind of payment. So I ended up using my debit card. This place does not accept legal one dollar coins for payment of any type. I asked to speak to a manager and he says we do not have a manager here. I always use one dollar establishments around there. They always accept them. We will not be going back there. Because they do not accept American legal of one dollar coins. His demeanor and attitude immediately became rather distasteful. this kind of we will not be going back there this establishment for the local area. read more

Pretty fair experience for today's expectations. It was a full house when we walked in but an all-dead & quiet middle aged crowd with sports on TV's and no energy or music or even laughter happening. Underwhelming seems to be the vibe in the hill country almost anywhere you go. We weren't greeted. Just yelled at across the bar when we were standing for a bit. "Yall can pick a table!" The food was decent for the area. Fish n chips Cod was the smallest fillet I've ever had. I'd say about 3.5" fillets and you only get two and a small handful of fries and tiny TINY wet corn fritter/nuggets. Makes you wonder. Our server warmed up a little more during our visit. The "Gulf Coast Fries" while alright in taste, were described much more innovative and were delivered as a zero-effort bait & switch item. Was pleasantly surprised on how good the food and beer was. Ordered 2 flights and was able to sample 8 beers. I will say that I did not have one that I did not think was at least good. Most were above average to great. Chips, salsa, and queso: cheese had a good flavor and texture. salsa was not watery and had a nice flavor. Chips were nice and crisp. Brisket Philly: Very good. Brisket was tender, bun was soft and the cheese was melty. Would recommend. service was fine. space has a good amount of seating, but I would not call it large. I could see it getting filled up on a busy night. If you are staying in Blanco for a few days I would highly recommend visiting Cannon Brewing for dinner one night. This has always been one of our favorite places for a fabulous rare wagyu burger. Ok, so the wagyu has been gone for awhile, but whatever they substituted was equally as good. WHAT HAPPENED?????? This is not a drop-in restaurant for us, we live an hour away. We hadn't eaten all day in anticipation of having another great meal at Texas Canon Brewing. The seven of us, kids and grandkids included, piled into the car and made our way to Blanco, talking about what we were going to order along the way. We all ordered the usual, starting with fried pickles for the table. The waiter brought out a measly little single portion of fried pickles. When I asked why the size had shrunk to 1/4 of its usual size, he said he had asked the cook himself and was told "the price of food has gone up". I told the waiter to let the cook know the customers had noticed their fried pickles "basket" had shrunk to a single portion. If that wasn't bad enough, it got even worse when the meals arrived. The waiter disappeared after bringing the food and never came back to ask if everything was ok. IT WAS NOT OK!!!!! The big rare juicy burger had shrunk to 2 dry tasteless WAY OVERCOOKED burgers. Mine was missing the bacon. Even the sides had SHRUNK. The waiter finally reappeared to bring our check and hovered over me to make sure his tip was included. There was no adjustment for our complaints. If I were trying to keep customers happy, I would have brought out another order of fried pickles or take them off the bill. Obviously they're not interested in repeat customers. Needless to say, we will not be making Texas Canon Brewing Company our family outing again. It has sadly gone way downhill. If we happen to be in the area, we will be trying out one of the more highly rated restaurants. read more

I LOVE IT when you find a small-ish brewery that has a good selection of tasty beer! Plus, the prices are quite good: a flight of 4 for $8, and a half pint for $3? My kind of place. The beers were enjoyable and offered something for everyone. The service was good. I got asked if i wanted more right before my glass went empty, but that was it. no extra banter or conversation. that's why 4 stars instead of 5. I went on a busy Saturday, the weekend of the Blanco lavender festival. Typically you grab your own table, but considering how busy it was, we stood in line for a table. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table, but we expected it. Once seated, everything went smoothly and quickly. We ordered immediately and were served our drinks within a few minutes. I had the seasonal lemon lavender lager. It was crisp, but I didn't really get the lavender notes. I ordered the pretzel to go along with it. The pretzel comes with the best queso. The pretzel filled me up, so I ended up ordering the kids grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were the best. I am so glad that I ordered those instead of the regular fries. Do yourself a favor and order the sweet potato fries as well. Our table ordered the pickle fries.. I had never had them before we all enjoyed them. All the workers were super busy, but they never showed how stressed they were. They were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has inside and outside seating. Parking is available upfront and on the street, but shared with the other other businesses. read more

I was looking for a place for lunch in Blanco that was open on Mondays because I picked up a friend from the San Antonio airport, and Blanco was on our way home. There were several Blanco restaurants with good reviews, and we chose this one because we were both in the mood for a good burger. It did not disappoint!! We were greeted by a friendly server and seated right away when we arrived. The place was nice and clean and has a good, small-town vibe. We both ordered the goat burger. It came out hot, fresh, and cooked to order for each of us. We both agreed it was one of the best burgers we'd ever had. My sweet potato fries were also excellent. I live about an hour away, but it's good enough that I plan to make the drive just to eat here again. We didn't try the beer, so I can't speak to that, but my friend said her iced tea was good. read more

Hello I am local to this brew pub and when I say local I can literally walk there. We will just say I would rather get in my car and drive somewhere else. I know that may sound harsh so let me give you some background. I know they had some turnover I gave them some grace and I have been here a few times now. I don't like writing these types of reviews so that is why I wanted to visit a few times before I wrote my review. My last time I would have to say was just a few months ago. I will have to say as far as the beers are concerned those are good and the bartender at the bar is very attentive. My wife and I really love the stout. We liked it soo much that we used to get growlers of it, but that was quickly ended when each time we got a refill the beer kept tasting soapy. We have tried the food and as far as bar food it is concerned it isn't anything spectacular. The typical fried food and uneventful sandwiches. I will have to say as far as cleanliness it is a very clean location to bad the service doesn't match. We were greeted by a female server and she was extremely nice and sat us right away took our drink order and she advised she wasn't our server but the server would be right over with our drinks. We thought nothing of it until when we got our drinks our actual server was less than thrilled to be there or be our server. He got us the wrong drinks and when we advised him of it he blamed the other server and wouldn't correct it until he spoke to her to chastise her. We went ahead and ordered food anyway. I should have known better not only did they get our order wrong such as my daughter asked for a Italian sausage pizza nothing else just cheese and sausage we got pepperoni. My wife and I ordered the chicken sandwich and the menu says have it tossed in your favorite wing sauce we got the sauce on the side since the server forgot about us asking for it to be tossed. Each time the server was lackadaisical and carried himself as if we were bothering him . I am saddened by this since it is a neighborhood local spot too bad the service and food is subpar. I have seen some people have had better experiences so all I can say is I cannot recommend the food or the service and I wouldn't go back or take my family back but if you decide to try it out I will hope you get lucky and the restaurant is having a better day. Food was good however the customer service could definitely use some attention. We come from the service industry and definitely felt like we were not wanted there. We were given menus and then shortly asked if we were ready to order (again without even a friendly smile or welcoming greeting). Even after leaving a 20% tip with bad service and being the last table to leave establishment 20 minutes before closing, not one employee said "Thank you or bye". As for the booth, I'd add some cushions if possible. Will add they do have guest WiFi so that's a positive ;) Beer was alright too! read more

Understaffed, food was cold, my order the brisket Philly, only had meat on 3/4 of sandwich. Ordered ranch, never came, ordered tea and a coke, never stopped for refill. All around a horrible experience, considering we average eating there once a week. Never again. We didn't eat our food orders, just paid and left. $43 for a 1/3 lb burger and a sandwich missing a quarter of meat on the bun. Nice addition to the food and drink scene in Blanco. Modern and comfortable tap room just off the town square. Their logo is a clever mashup of the Texas star and the "come and take it" cannon. They currently offer 7 styles of beer plus 2 nitro versions. I tried a flight of four beers - they were all clear, effervescent and nicely colored. I would have ordered a pint of any of them. They also have a "bites" menu of pub-style snacks and food. We didn't order food because we had just eaten lunch, but the table next to us ordered a Texas Size Pretzel and it looked pretty good. Service issues not just for us but everyone cost this otherwise great place a star - but it was the chintziness with pico de Gallo and salsa that lost them another star, talking this review to 3 stars - ouch!! There's no need to go into the MANY service fails - I spoke to our server who was new and alone on a busy holiday Monday dinner service. She was also not helped by kitchen errors such as leaving off ordered toppings and pouring the wrong sized beers, and being stingy with salsa. This is a restaurant management fail. We saw several impatient customers as the waitress struggled with the handheld ordering tablet and tables calling out to her for service. Two tables (one of 2 adults and one of 2 adults and 3 kids) got tired of waiting for attention, so they just got up and left. The beers were very good - we started with a flight and then ordered a 1/2 pint of the Oktoberfest. Meal was also just fine except for a few small kitchen mistakes that were quickly corrected by bringing out ramekins if what was left off. I did have to go up and get my own beers from the bartender - she took them off the server's tray that had 8 beers on it that had been sitting for about 10 minutes. Brisket quesadilla was nice and crispy, filled with tender house-smoked brisket, but the pico on the side was tired and the portion was about 1 tbsp - super skimpy. Same with a flavorful house green salsa - 1 tbsp.of salsa in a small plastic ramekin. Not enough! I have been there a few times, as it is local to me. I wasn't the biggest fan when they opened. The food is decent, but the beer is not. The help staff love to sit at the bar and do business on their laptops or sit on their phones watching whatever viral video is up on their feed. No real personalities at all. I took time away for work and hadn't been there in at least a year and a half. While home, I decided to give it another try. Yeah, no. Same sh!t, different day. Same tired beer, same staff situation. I know they have their loyal locals, but I think they go there to put a few back and chew the fat. With all of the AMAZING breweries in the surrounding areas, you think they'd network and chat Brewmaster to Brewmaster. Learn some things. Check out different styles. You know....try and grow? Busy Friday night so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Live music was great! They let you sample the beer selections which I am always a fan of. The salsa and beer cheese sauce were not for me. I did see several LARGE pretzels so I plan to try that next time. I had the old fashioned cheeseburger. Whatever kind of bun they used was slightly sweet and went well with the burger. My honey got the wings and he said the spicy Thai were his favorite. I'm not sure what they put in their ranch dressing but neither of us were a fan. My son has the spicy chicken sandwich. I think he was thinking it would be like certain other spicy chicken sandwiches that he gets. He said this was too wet - too much Buffalo sauce.
