Good God their waffle smash burger was delicious! This visit we sat on the back patio with our pups. Service was very friendly and the ordering for that area was clearly explained. The patio is beautiful! Be sure not to miss it!

Portobello fries

A trendy restaurant located in downtown Johnson City. We were doing carry out but decided to have a few drinks at the bar while we waited. Their full bar was great! Quite a few on tap beer choices to appeal to most people. Their mixed drinks were good too. We decided to try their portobello fries- YUM! We'd come back just for those. My husband ordered their lamb burger and said it was delicious. I had the fried catfish plate. The fish had a light crust, was flavorful and light. Be careful with extra prices like taking home nachos is an extra $3.50

Don't sleep on the fried chicken with pecan syrup!!!! Perfectly fried chicken--crispy, light batter with moist meet. Actual pecans topping the syrup. I generally don't rave about fried chicken much less fried boneless chicken but it was unexpected that it'd be executed so well. Service was great and the interior was huge--very family-friendly. Festive during holiday season too.

Mac & Cheese (has queso, green chiles, bacon)

Although we were seated right away and service was friendly & attentive, this last trip to Pecan Street Brewing was a disappointment on the food. I ordered the Pecan Sweet Chicken and the breading did not stick to it at all. The chicken inside was shriveled and dry. I've never had chicken fried chicken where the breading didn't stick to it. The green beans and mashed potato sides were good though. My mom got the Reuben, which was apparently a popular choice that day. She enjoyed it. My dad got the club sandwich and he wasn't impressed. He said the bread tasted old and it was just underwhelming. My daughter ordered the mac & cheese and ended up not really being able to eat it because the green chilies were too spicy. I didn't read the menu that closely, so I don't know if it mentioned that green chiles were in it. We got the chips and dip trio as an appetizer. The salsa and queso were good, but the guacamole was already turning brown. Our table got two beers and a cranberry gin and tonic, and we all enjoyed our drinks. Overall, just not their best effort in terms of food this visit.

Came into town after hiking at a nearby state park. We were soaked from the rain and needed a warm meal. The food was fantastic and the restaurant was cozy and warm. We loved the pecan coffee that they sell in house and the TX ruben was GREAT!!!! Our server had great recommendations and definitely steered us in the right direction. All of his choices were so yummy!

My wife and I love going to breweries and trying out their flights. We love options. We basically tried every beer available at Pecan Street Brewing. They have such a wide array of options and all of them tasted great. The bartenders provided great service as well. The venue is spacious with great ambience too.

I was going pleasantly surprised at this place that my husband suggested that had been with some guys. It was really good. Went mid day on a Wednesday. Prompt service. Server was helpful on deciding on a beer for my husband. We had the schnitzel sandwich special and split it. Very tasty. And big! I'm sure this place is hopping certain nights of the week.

Can never go wrong with pizza and beer! Pecan Street!

Love this place. Not judgmental like other places in town! Very laidback atmosphere! Pizza and beer was perfect!

Wow oh wow! Everything went right at this brewery! I loved everything about this place! The ambiance was great, decor was great, it wasn't too noisy inside, and the food and service were also impeccable. I got the pink point prickly pear wheat, which was a very easy-to-drink beer that has fruity notes. They also have make-you-own flights available for those of you who can't just choose one beer at a time. Their soft pretzel was a delicious appetizer to accompany the beer, while the black sheep burger was an excellent entree. I loved the mustard/relish that came with the soft pretzel because it had notes of horseradish but was also surprisingly on the sweeter side. The black sheep burger was juicy and came with a side of tzatziki sauce that paired perfectly with the lamb. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area again because this was an incredible dining experience all-around!

Artichoke dip and a Michilada.

2;30 pm visit on a Sunday, party of 2 for beer & appetizers. Artichoke dip is hearty and signature beer is tasty. I recommend. Details below. This is a popular place, as people make their Sunday drive-through town. There was a 15 minute wait outside the restaurant. Service is great. Restaurant has merchandise to sell. Plenty of parking outside in the town Square.

Visited on Easter Sunday completely by accident while driving through from Fredericksburg and wow, what a great surprise! From start to finish, everything was incredible. The service stood out immediately. The hosts, servers, bartenders all professional, friendly, and genuinely good people. The owners went the extra mile to make the holiday special for everyone dining that day. They even hid Easter eggs filled with candy and prizes on the patio for each family. Such a thoughtful touch! We sat outside on the patio, which was super cute, shaded, and just perfect for the beautiful weather. We ended up staying over two hours, sipping on in-house brewed draft beers and enjoying the food. We had the pretzel, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and a burger everything was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this spot. 10/10! Will definitely be back

My parents loved their chicken fried steak and talked about it for a week seriously. Ha! Also, the peach cobbler is almost like if bread pudding and cobbler had a baby, and it's to die for! I would love to see some more vegetarian (or even vegan) options on the menu, though. We didn't know they had a shortened menu during the holidays, so I was bummed that they had taken the meatless burger option off the menu. I know that it is Johnson City, but with all the tourists, a good veg option would be really appreciated. I did have a delicious tomato soup, though. They have great drinks, too, and they had a few fun ones for the holidays. I will definitely return here with the fam when we are back in town.

Let me first say I wish this establishment well, and hope they have success in their endeavors…read more I was in centex to visit daughter, and suggested a bbq tour of the small towns west of Aus. We arrived at P&C mid afternoon on a Monday. We were touring this and other towns, so only ordered the pulled pork sandwich, side of mac n cheese and side of mashed potatoes w gravy between the two of us. And some extra bbq sauce on the side. The pulled pork sandw comes premade with what looks to be homemade pickles, smoked pulled pork, coleslaw, & bbq sauce. The presentation is fairly impressive. Unfortunately, the taste did not measure up. We had bites of the sandwich as a whole, and also tasted the individual ingred by themself to get a feel for what contributed to the overall. The pulled pork was hit/miss. Some of it was generously smoked & that smokiness came through. Other bites of it the smoked flavor was not prominent. Mac n Cheese - solid. By far the best thing we tried. Super cheesy, flavorful. Nice work! Coleslaw - substandard. I'd say the C range. Pickles on the sandwich - they were thicker and appeared homemade. They didn't seem like they had been left to sit long enough on the shelf for the pickling to soak in. In appearance they were still very close to cucumbers instead of pickled cucumbers. Flavor wise they didn't taste like cukes, but nor did they add a dill-ish or sweet pickle flavor of substance. (Can see the pickles in attached pic, can see the color and texture doesn't look significantly pickled.) Sauce - extremely little flavor. The consistency was not watery, but you had to close your eyes and concentrate to taste what little flavor there was - as though it was watered down immensely. Sauce gets a D. Mashed potatoes & gravy. They served the gravy on the side. The potatoes themselves were good - a little buttery and therefore enjoyable. The consistency of the gravy was mealy - was unexpected, and odd. Lacked the common flavor of a hearty gravy begun with a roux of flour and meat drippings. (Zoom in on attached photo, you can see the mealy and almost-grainy texture of the gravy.) Overall we weren't impressed. The mac n cheese being the best thing is not what you expect at a bbq place. Like I said, we wish the establishment well. But we wouldn't come back when in Johnson City. Final note, the hostess/server was genuinely warm and friendly. She was wearing multiple hats, running around, but was pleasant and engaging.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there.
