Our waitress, Makenzie, did an amazing job taking care of us. It was our first time there and we were treated like family. I had the pork tacos and my husband had the cat fish. I'm sorry we didn't get any pics of the food, but it was gone before we knew what happened. The restaurant is situated on the banks of Lake LBJ. It boasts a beautiful view and the patrons were super nice! The price was very reasonable for a lovely dinner. We were there on a week day for lunch. Service was slow. Food was mediocre, I had the catfish, 2 fair sized fillets, just bland.. the tartar sauce was basically just mayonnaise. My friend had the BBQ Burger, it was a very large burger but without the sauce the patty was tasteless. We decided to give the Carrot Cake a try... Good decision.. We stopped for lunch here on the way to a winery as part of a fun Sunday outing. I didn't find the food to be that great, but we sat outside and the view of Lake Marble Falls was amazing. I had pulled pork and sweet potato waffle fries that were okay. The peach and raspberry tea was was very, very good. Our waitress offered wonderful service and was very knowledgeable about the menu. Very cute decor, nice views! We stopped in at the end of the dinner rush, it was a bit loud when we arrived, but definitely simmered down shortly after. Finally made it in for a date lunch with my luv and it did not disappoint! The service was top notch h all the way from walking in the door to getting the check! The soup was very good. It was baked potato today. The catfish was so delicious. The best I've had in a while. It was cooked just right without the soft, soggy texture you might get elsewhere. My husband saw someone at the table next to us get the fish tacos and just knew he had to get them. He was pleased with those as well. We stayed in the hotel next door over the weekend and decided to give this place a try. Walking in you immediately smell apple cinnamon sending your tastebuds into overdrive. Do they have what smells so yummy? No...but you can pick up the same glade air freshener if you'd like lol. The interior is stunningly cool to look at. We opted for the outdoor seating bc of the view. Beautiful view. Our waiter was helpful and pretty on top of everything. We ordered a tower of onion rings, burger combo and chicken tender combo. we were fortunate to walk in straight to a table with View of the front door and hallway leading to the main dining room. That allowed us to say howdy to several rotary club members as they entered for their meeting. Our server was promptly at our table. She asked for drink orders and before we could study the menus that she delivered we had them instantly. She was back and said are you ready to order I had not studied long enough I said not quite well she stood within view of our table and when I raised my finger Bam she was back taking our orders. I think her name was Anna Lena. Within moments of our placing our orders are piping hot meals came. And were they delicious! She refilled my tea glass twice. Every time it got down to the fourth of the Glass she was there with a refill. I cannot say enough about our server. And the food was excellent! Prices are kept low so locals can afford to request this business. Big bad bbq onion burger looked impressive, and all the fixings were delicious. However, the patty itself was beyond bland, hard, and chewy. Probably prefrozen burger party that has been in the freezer for too long. Didn't taste like meat, or anything, for that matter. Skip and go for something else. Texas Reuben was surpassingly tasty (and light & small). The rye bread had a nice balanced flavor to complement the meat. The pastrami was over salted--prepare to chug gallons water afterwards. The side of coleslaw was tiny, if you're looking for a less unhealthy meal option. Carrot cake was decadently sweet and rich. Portion big enough to share amongst two. Served warm, this is truly a sugarholic fantasy. The sponge is fluffy and light, not dense, like most carrot cakes, which feel like a brick once they hit your stomach. You won't feel disgustingly heavy after this indulgence. The Grilled Chicken was very moist and cooked perfectly. Melted cheese only added to the flavor. It is a large sandwich, so towards the end of the meal, I removed the bread and ate the chicken. Fiancé ordered a medium-well steak. Server asked us to cut into our steaks before he walked away. Fiancés steak was a med-rare plus. So he sent it back to get re-fired. When it came back It looked, and smelled like it was dropped in the deep fryer and forgotten about. It was inedible. Manager came by . He took the steak off the tab and offered a dessert. Which was nice. But unfortunately the night was already ruined. Fiancé was so turned off by the taste and look of the steak that he couldn't eat so I ate alone. It was very disappointed. read more

The food was great! I enjoyed my fish tacos and fries. I love tacos and they did a great job! They were so filling that I had to take one of the three tacos home. They have something for everyone and the portions are generous. I wish I'd of had room for dessert, though I did try a spoon of the chocolate cake and ice cream which were wonderful. To start off our trip to Fredericksburg, we stopped for lunch in Marble Falls. Had a great meal at River City. Nice patio seating over the lake/river. Nice friendly service who also helped us make some choices on the menu. We had the pork chop and the bacon cheese burger. Chop was moist and tasty but a little salty due to the brine - not uncommon. The burger was quality meat, cooked perfectly for my request (medium well) and was a large helping with quality toppings. I added gilled mushrooms and they did not skimp. Normally I do not rave about out of town spots unless they truly stand out to me. This place left such a favorable impression that I came back in for more after my Krause Springs trail race the next day!! The views of lake marble falls are incredible. And lots to look at with boats and activities on the water day or night. Julia who worked the patio both days was an absolute lady boss with the most personable attention to detail service. I really enjoyed chatting with her while I dined! She made sure everyone on the patio was taken care of. The presentation of food is great and consistent/fresh. Lunch with a view, what more can you ask for! My friend and I had lunch here on our spontaneous trip to Marble Falls. I enjoyed the atmosphere of River City Grille and the food was great too! We ordered the Onion Rings as an appetizer and they were soooo satisfying. I don't remember how long it's been since I've had onion rings, but I could not stop eating these! For lunch I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was very tasty! It has the right amount of acidity and tang. Plenty of parking and very friendly wait staff. Oh my goodness; if you haven't stopped to eat here you need to stop and enjoy a delicious meal. Everything we have ordered is absolutely delicious and filling. Never have room for dessert so we have indulged and ordered it to go. All their wait staff is courteous, knowledgeable and attentive even when they are full. We usually prefer to sit inside but you do get good views from the dining room areas of the lake. read more

My husband & I own a local taxi business, so we are often very busy, but still want to eat healthy, like most of the food is at River City Grille. The issue is, we drive riders all over the Tx Hill Country, including Marble Falls, but don't always get a break around 8 pm to eat. Over the 11 years we have lived here, this town has grown from a sleepy country town to an active little town, attracting people from literally all over the world. Unfortunately most restaurants in this town close at 9 pm!!! The only eating options left are a few fast food places. Since our taxi business keeps us busy, we often eat out. It will be interesting to see how long it takes eateries to extend hours to at least 10 pm!!!! read more
