The first thing you'll notice about this winery is the amazing view from the patio. It is really hard to beat. These staff were very attentive and gave excellent recommendations. We did two bottles, one rose and one white, and they made sure that they stayed chilled on ice and that are glasses were always full. Both wines were crisp and refreshing on a very hot summer day. We had the shishito peppers and the salad. Both were delicious. This is an excellent place to hang out and relax either with a loved one or a large group.
Such a great experience from start to finish. The view was gorgeous and the staff was so attentive, which made the whole visit even better. We did the wine tasting with 5 wines and added the cheese plate, which was the perfect assortment to pair with the wines. Everything was delicious. Definitely coming back for a cute date or a girls day!
UPDATE 03-03-2024 Back to Torr Na Lochs today for a "wine club member" pick-up party. What a blast! Our first time at a pick-up party in "the pasture"... where they move the longhorns to another pasture and set up a HUGE party tent for the member party. Live music this time as well... (Spicey Loops, good one-man band). The wines here are always good, we had the reds today to go with the pulled pork tacos, beans, rice, etc. What a great pairing! Met a bunch of really fun folks there, who happen to also have memberships at some of the other wineries in the area. Fun day, great weather, friendly folks... a good day! Highly recommend Torr Na Lochs for good wine, good food, and neighborly folks!
Solid tasting wines, great service, views, and selection of flatbreads and other yummy items. It's table service which worked well. Wide selection. The Roussanne excellent on hot summer day. The Syrah over the top good without the jammy ness that I find in others. Seems great place for events. Nice to have this locally.
Had lunch today at the Torr Na Lochs winery in Burnet, TX. Very pretty drive in, but grading is a bit rough. Watch out for longhorns. Casual atmosphere but classy. Staff was nice. We ordered a muffaletta panini and a caprese panini with chips...both tasty but fairly small for the $15 price tag. And the caprese panini needed a hint of salt. It was fairly bland. We also did the wine tasting for $30 each. 5 flavors, a 1oz swig each. It's expensive being cultured. All in all, it's a nice place, but a bit over-priced for what you get. The wine was very good, but I would expect that. When we asked for some water they wanted to charge us .50 for a bottle of water. Now, right, that's not an obscene price, but, after $60 for 10oz of wine, I can't get free water? We were told the ice would have been free. I should have asked for a glass of ice and let it melt. Next time.
Never been here till this visit we just made here with friends for a marriage proposal. We will be back again many many times now! Absolutely gorgeous place with stunning views of Texas you don't find many places. The wine is also amazing. The Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Afternoon Delight, Dolcetto, and Albarino are all wines you must try when you go here (if your a dry to off dry wine type). The staff are amazing (Dian rocks) and they kept us in goods hands for wine and charcuterie boards our whole stay of 2-3 hours. We had a gorgeous day to be here and take in the venue and the sights. What a day to propose and make memorable! Wine is well priced for the quality and they have a wine club as well of course, getting you year round discounts. I'd love to come back for a live music performance and take in a whole weekend afternoon here next time with my wife.
The scenic views were some of the best that the hill country has to offer. Wines were very good as was the food. Service was very attentive and the winery was very welcoming. You always wonder how your experience might be, dreading that some can be a bit aloof, but this winery gets 5 out of 5 for their demeanor. Will come back again when I can.
Less than 15 minutes from the city of Burnet, along Highway 29 you'll find this winery. We came here on a Tuesday afternoon and were surprised to find the tasting room completely full. It does have an outdoor patio with a terrific view of the lake. There is one thing you need to know before you come here and that is the fact that they do not allow pets. This may be due to the fact that they have two winery dogs that hang around the tasting room. They do serve food and sandwiches and they do charge for the wine tastings. If you want to buy a bottle their whites and roses they are near $30 but the reds are closer to the $40s. This is a true winery that crushes its own grapes and bottles the final product. They do have 3 acres of vines on the property and their wines are 100% Texas grapes of which the majority come from the High Plains area in Texas. However, they do not see distribution so you'll have to buy your favorite wine here. As someone who works in the wine business, I can testify that these wines are really on point and I was a big fan of their Carley's Rosé. Even the reds had a great balance of fruit, acid and tannins. We were able to try the 5 yr bbl aged Dolcetto Ruby Port with its intense nature and which I highly recommend. A big thanks to Donnie who was both attentive and informative on our tasting journey. They can handle wedding rehearsal dinners, and gatherings, but you'll have to call ahead. This definitely should be on your go to list when trying wines in the hill country.
I'm not much of a wine drinker but I really enjoyed the malvasia bianca the most as well as the wines I got to sample. Pro tip, if the menu item says "pickles available upon request" you request those pickles, even if you don't like pickles, give them to someone else! Not being much of a wine drinker or connoisseur, I focused much more on the food! I started with the shishito peppers and for the main course, I had a delicious banh mi sandwich. My girlfriend had the caprese panini and we wound up sharing halvsies which was a win-win, for sure :-) Our server was really knowledgeable and helpful, and I regret not getting her name, but she had fun little avocado earrings. The venue was beautiful! With it being really hot, we stayed indoors until it was time to leave and then made sure to check out the breathtaking views!
This is a fantastic winery among the hills that is definitely worth bringing out of town guests to. Some wineries win with their scenery, some with their wine, some with their service. Torr Na Lochs is winning with a combination of all three. First, the view is incredible. The photos speak for themselves. It is a jaw dropping view with tons of seating to appreciate the scenery. But really, you are there for the wine. They had a variety of tasting options, and I chose a mixture of reds and whites, which happily came with more than two whites (this is a problem other places). All of the wine I had was exceptional, but the one that really changed my mind was their Orange Muscat. I cringed a bit to see muscat because I've always associated it with sweet wine. Not here! Instead it was a beautifully dry, crisp wine with a floral nose. I liked it so much I took a bottle home and wished I had taken more! The service was great, too - friendly and helpful. I did not try any of the food, but there was a decent menu, especially for a winery. I could not tell if you could bring your own food in, and I am fairly certain the menu was a little limited in terms of dietary restrictions (veg, etc). But really, come for the wine and the view, and you will not be disappointed!
Incredible views, incredible service, good enough food + wine. We did a little pit stop after Inks Lake state park and enjoyed the views. We got the fig and prosciutto pizza (had feta and balsamic glaze on top) and it was decent. It would have been better with some arugula on top! It needs a little bit of savory for it to not lean too far into a dessert pizza. Very much appreciated they made the food in-house compared to some of the other wineries in the hill country. read more
Stacy was a great host for our tasting, and steered us in the direction of awesome pizzas for lunch. The view, even on a cloudy day, was so enjoyable and our first Texas wine tasting visit did not disappoint! We can't wait to return. Loved the wall of funny wine quotes and signs near the restroom and there was even a TV inside to keep up with the football score that day. read more

Worth every mile! Torr Na Lochs is the perfect getaway from the city, peaceful, scenic, and full of charm. The views are absolutely stunning, the wines are exceptional, and the bites are delicious. It's the kind of place that makes you slow down, breathe, and savor every moment. read more

We had 2 different tastings and even got a few more hours. The wine was so good. My son had one of their pizzas, Hot Honey Pepperoni. He said it was one of his favorites. The views here are spectacular!!! read more

I really love this winery its located right outside of Burnet City limits, the views of the lake that is far off in the distance and the hills of the hill country makes this a breath-taking experience that all wine goers must experince. The staff was very personable and friendly. read more
Located in the heart of Texas wine country. Yes that's right, Texas has a wine country! The staff is friendly and they have an outdoor patio with an amazing view of Inks Lake and the surrounding area. If it's your first time then I recommend the Wine Tasting with a souvenir glass. For around $20, you taste 6 of their most popular wines (3 reds, 2 whites and 1 rosé). And you take your wine glass home. The atmosphere is fun with love music and and friendly smiles of the staff. If you can, try to come during the evening to witness the sunset. read more

Love it. I'm not only a wino but I also work in the industry and there are so many positive things I have to say. 1. Plenty of parking 2. They serve food 3. They serve little palette cleansers (mini crackers) with a tasting 4. Attentive 5. The view is amazing!!! Plus they have multiple areas: fire pit, main outdoor patio overlooking the landscape and lake, and indoors. 6. The wine is good, but what I valued was they had a wine that dedicates the money to an animal shelter/rescue. What's not to love! Come early, have some wine and stay for the sunset view! read more
I visited Torr Na Lochs during my birthday celebration with some girlfriends and although it was crazy hot, we had a lovely time. The views here are stunning! They offer table side service anywhere you would like to sit- indoor or outdoor. We each did a wine tasting. The staff was great and accommodating to each person. I enjoyed the white wines and the rose I tasted. On the Friday we were there they were also serving brick oven pizza and other snacks. We ordered a Margherita pizza and pimento cheese. It was all delicious! If you are looking for a nice place to hang out, taste some wine and eat I'd definitely suggest Torr Na Lochs. read more
Discovered this hidden gem while on a hill country day trip! Hidden in a beautiful setting off Highway 29, Torr Na Lochs is set on a hilltop with a slight view of Inks Lake. The facilities are excellent! Beautiful terrace with tables, nice interior wine bar, clean restrooms. Wine: During COVID there are some odd restrictions- much purchase food to drink on site. We just wanted to sample some wine, and had two small tastes. The Tempranillo was a bit too tannic for our taste. But the Fion Dearg (blended red) was fantastic! We bought two bottles. This is a beautiful winery with incredible grounds with donkeys. They are cute! The grounds by the winery are very beautiful with a view of Inks lake in the background. Not sure if it is Inks Lake, but it was very peaceful and inviting. The ladies working the winery are very friendly and helpful explaining the menu and restrictions in serving wine during COVID. Wine: we tried sample of Tempranillo wine. It was very good, but drier than I prefer. We were recommended to try a blend called Fion Dearg. This was the perfect wine with less tannins than Tempranillo. We purchased two bottles to go. Interior cleanliness: above average Bathroom cleanliness: above average read more

Wow! The view here is reason enough to come, but add to that an excellent patio, a substantial food menu, plus great wine? Winner winner! This is an absolutely gorgeous place to spend an afternoon taking in the Texas hill country views with some wine and bites. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Their cheese tray was great - fully loaded with tasty cheese, grapes, and some crackers, including their own homemade crackers (so good, I want the recipe!). On Saturdays they offer pizza. I enjoyed their Rose, it was a bit drier than any Rose I've had before but it made for a nice finish. read more

Love the views, the ambiance and the wine. But the doggie and the Longhorns were my favorites. They were functioning as a restaurant due to covid, and the charcuterie board was delightful. Not just your average hill country fare cheddar slices, but manchego and some new cheeses like artigiano vino Rosso which I had never tried but the rind is wine or dipped in wine, not sure but very interesting. The pizzas were good too and the staff were very friendly as well. We will be back! read more
