Hands down the best paella we have ever had! That's another review though! LOL The Horne family that owns and runs 7 Creeks are great folks. Always stopping by to visit (when they can, it stays pretty busy on weekend days), and they're all willing to talk about how they make the wine, wine and food pairing, etc. They offer some food items, e.g., charcuterie board, Fat Boy Cheese and crackers (if you haven't had Fat Boy cheese, you gotta get you some of that-- delicious!). And, they welcome you bringing your own food. It's a good place for families, usually quite a few there, plenty of room for kids to run around and exhaust themselves! :-) 7 Creeks usually has live music on Saturdays, and often has special menus cooked and offered by Jerry Horne, he is a fantastic cook... gumbo, street tacos, etc. Well worth your time to stop by the winery in Burnet, TX. The view is breathtaking as well as the company. This place provides a perfect get away from the big city and a great family feeling. Knob Creek rocks, Elijah Craig rocks, a Ranch Water (a bit too sweet), and a classic Italian Aperol Spritz. Dinner on the patio starting with a smoked bacon appetizer followed by a wedge salad. Sugared bacon was delicious. Wedge didn't have the salad core removed which was a bit disappointing. Shared a coal-fired Margarita pizza with chicken added. Pizza was cooked perfectly and was delicious with a healthy amount of ingredients, including the excellent blend of cheeses. Our waiter Peter was very professional, friendly and informative. Definitely recommend the Vineyard for an upscale night out with excellent ambiance featuring a Mediterranean decor. Will go back.

It's delightful how they've grown. Flannigans is clearly a labor of love (for alcohol, architecture, food and Texas history) and the joy of experimentation. Food is great, wine is great, spirits are exceptional. The Texas American Gothic (TAG) is a completely unique experience that needs to spread. TX liquor distributors need to jump on this yesterday. The owner, Gil, was on hand to lead us through a flight of wines (I believe it was $5 for 5 tastings) and he effortlessly charmed us through the entire selection. He's obviously very proud of the work they do at Pillar Bluff, and deservedly so. Of particular note are a very fruity Chenin Blanc and Ruby Port. But the standout is a sweet and crisp Reisling - one of a very few wineries in Hill Country to offer one, and it's excellent! Definitely add this winery to your list if you're willing head off the beaten track between Dripping Springs and Fredericksburg.

I love the brewery's name, Schitz Creek Brewery & Distillery. Great prices for flights (~$15), and ended up going home with a bottle of their (green) Apple Moscato.
