Update 02-03-2024 7 Creeks continues to produce some of the best wines in Central Texas. Stopped by this weekend because one of our favorite chefs was onsite doing his thing... Papa Paella! Hands down the best paella we have ever had! That's another review though! LOL The Horne family that owns and runs 7 Creeks are great folks. Always stopping by to visit (when they can, it stays pretty busy on weekend days), and they're all willing to talk about how they make the wine, wine and food pairing, etc. They offer some food items, e.g., charcuterie board, Fat Boy Cheese and crackers (if you haven't had Fat Boy cheese, you gotta get you some of that-- delicious!). And, they welcome you bringing your own food. It's a good place for families, usually quite a few there, plenty of room for kids to run around and exhaust themselves! :-) 7 Creeks usually has live music on Saturdays, and often has special menus cooked and offered by Jerry Horne, he is a fantastic cook... gumbo, street tacos, etc. Well worth your time to stop by the winery in Burnet, TX. We decided to take a Saturday day trip with our pups and found 7-Creeks to be dog friendly. Very happy that we found 7 Creeks and stopped by to have their tasting flight. Not only did we have some wines that we enjoyed, but the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and us and our pups were greeted by Blondie who they enjoyed meeting. The only negative was the vineyard was off the beaten path and basically no signage so a good thing we had our google maps. To be totally transparent, my husband and I are wine club members and 7 Creeks Vineyard has named one of their wines after me. That is NOT why I give them a 5 star rating. When we moved to the area, I insisted we needed to try them out even though my husband was not a wine enthusiast. We were greeted by Janis, one of the owners. We did a wine tasting and my husband was so enamored by the Old Vine Zinfandel that he instantly signed up for membership. As time went on, we got to know the family and staff. They have always been amazing in all they do, from tastings to tours of the inner workings behind the scenes. If you want fantastic wine, a family friendly atmosphere, staff that are truly happy to see you and share their knowledge, as well as the sweetest wine dog ever, then you must come out to 7 Creeks Vineyard. Really enjoyed my recent visit to 7 Creeks. And so thankful I stumbled upon it. They don't advertise on the Texas Hill Country Wineries website (where I normally research wineries to visit) so I was very lucky to come across it. Really great wines and super friendly staff. Not to mention a ridiculously sweet winery dog named Blondie. Misty took great care of me and I had a lovely time sitting on the property enjoying a glass with my picnic lunch. read more

First time here and definitely not the last!!! Walked in and we were greeted by the friendly staff!! Ashton took care of us outdoors on the patio. We did a red tasting and loved all 5 of the wines! Our favorites were the first and last! Everything ranges from a Pinot to a heavy cab... they have charcuterie broads to munch on while tasting. They also have live music on certain days... The vibes were friendly and so relaxing! Ashton was super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. She made our whole visit pleasant with her bubbly personality. We will be back this weekend to hang out more and drink more wine! Everyone inside behind the bar was nice and friendly! Super refreshing since we live in the city. Texas hospitality at its finest. I very highly recommend visiting 7 Creeks Vineyard!!! It was the absolute BEST experience I have ever had a winery!!!! The owners are amazing!!! The make the best wines and charcuterie boards!!! I honestly didn't know that I could enjoy a winery as much as I did enjoy this one. I've been to other wineries and did not enjoy the atmosphere or attitudes and lack of knowledge...but at 7 Creeks Vineyard, they were a 10/10 on literally EVERYTHING!!! The owners have super great personalities, so very kind, easy to talk to, down to earth, welcoming and VERY knowledgeable!!! I was blown away with my experience there and I am so very much looking forward to returning!! The wines are SO GOOD, and the charcuterie board...OMG, it was the BEST I've ever had!!! It was hard to pick my favorite wine, but I finally settled on choosing a bottle and I highly recommend it if you like an amazing red wine! Jerry is FULL of awesome knowledge and great conversations!! I really enjoyed talking to him! Just went there a few days ago on recommendation from a friend. I was surprised at the coziness of the place. Loved the outdoor seating areas under the trees. Very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. Now, at the moment their wines are imported mostly from California as their crops are coming in and from what I understand they lost their crop to the snow storm this year ... it was still good wine! Their charcuterie board was to die for and they did not chintz on any of the selections! Bought two bottles of the wines I tasted during the wine tasting. Will definitely be returning! read more

Lucky enough to stumble across the previous review and find out about this place. Owners are completely down to earth and pleasurable to visit with. Been to several vineyards and we always have a few we don't care for mixed in with the ones we do. NOT the case here. Every one we tried was very good and worth getting a bottle of. After doing the samples my wife and I enjoyed time under the tree outside to drink a couple glasses from the selections. If you're close by or even if you're not, check with place out. Wonderful winery & staff. The veranda with mist fans overlooking a picturesque Oak was very comfortable, even on a 90+ temperature day. My wife liked Robin's Cuvee (Texas rose'), while I liked the Barbera (CA red). Nice options on flights. My In Laws live in the Hill Country. That prime location means that we have drank our way through plenty of Texas vineyards. Texas wine is much like people's opinion of Paris, France: you either love it, or you abhorrently hate it. With that being said, this vineyard is loved and adored by my family. The staff is welcoming and down to earth...unlike some tasting rooms, that we've been to, that judge us based on how we pronounce vognier (pronounced vin-yay) we say: Vog-Nerrr. The charcuterie board is seasonal and contains goodies from patrons who hunt and family members who dabble is chocolate making. Come and sit out back with the beautiful tree and take tons of Instagram pictures to show off to all of your friends. 7 Lakes is a firm 10/10. Come for the tasting, and stay for the chocolate and red Zinfandel. Update: I went to the bathroom, note to self..drink more water, and they have Meyers hand soap and lotion! With soft openings since July, this tucked away jewel located north of Bertram is going to stand out as a top quality fine wine destination in the northern Texas Hill Country. Jerry and Janis Horne's path to a winery career began many years ago with a casual conversation and visits to California wineries. That passion and love for what they do has matured into a beautiful estate vineyard and wine tasting room. The vineyard itself has been a work-in-progress for that last two years. They currently have about seven acres (hmm, seven again...) of grape vines with a mix of Mourvèdre , Tannat, Vermentino, Alicante Bouschet and Souzao planted. Tasting some of the grapes from the Souzao vines was an 'OH MY' and then some experience! Bob Young and Ron Yates are some of the winemakers helping them out on their first start. Current wine selections have grapes sourced from California and Texas. For the whites, the 2017 Chardonnay (Lodi) is aged in stainless still and exhibits great minerality, good acids, and a clean crisp taste! For reds, 2017 Mourvedre is sourced from the Texas High Plains AVA and shows off some great earthy notes. If you like Zinfandel, then you'll do somersaults over this Lodi 40+ year old-vine 2016 vintage. It smooths out quite well with lingering notes of jam. Got Alicante Bouschet? 7 Creeks does with their 2017 High Plains release. The garnet color is wonderful to gaze at with a touch of leather aftertaste. Don't forget to also try their Alta Mesa AVA sourced Souzao. If you love red wines and appreciate great meat parings, the 2015 Souzao vintage will have you hooked! Scheduled for release in the fall, will be a Tannat, a Muscat Blend, and a superb Syrah Rose'....worth a return trip! And what's a quality wine tasting with the bubbles? The 2014 Cuvée Blanc de Blanc is sourced from Lodi Chardonnay and made in the "Méthode Champenoise" way. You can taste the greatness in every bubble! With some nice estate homes being built nearby, as well as, proximity to the booming Liberty Hill area, wine traffic will not be a problem here. Stop by and enjoy their great hospitality! read more
