It's $28 other liquor stores. I stopped by today and they had two bottles of blackberry crown, I've bought them both and he said $62. I heard wrong because my bank was charged $162 for two bottles of blackberry crown that should've cost $28. He didn't offer a receipt, and when I thought I heard $62 I figured $28 apiece plus tax should be about 62 bucks. imagine my surprise when I looked at my bank account and was charged $162 for two bottles 750 ml.

This is not what I see in most of other Austin liquor chains, like Total Wines, etc. The fact, that had some estate or single vineyard wines from St. Helena or Howell Mountain appellations, is very surprising. The sales person was reasonably knowledgeable about wines, made few good suggestions, blinked just a bit after I mentioned that I know few of those winemakers and proprietors :) Yet, he is a really good resource for wine lovers (and remember, my expectations are very high). Another sales associate was very knowledgeable around bourbons. To my surprise, place had a few allocated bourbons from Buffalo Trace Distillery on the shelf. In summary - knowledgeable, friendly, and rather sophisticated collection.

But it's still a savings. The store opened at 10am, I got there a few minutes after and people already had 2 shopping carts full of wine and whatever else. I guess they know a pandemic round 2 is coming. The people in front of me, I snuck a picture of their purchase, it's was like $1,000 I asked the cashier if they were going to meet their sales goal today? She said this is nothing, last year someone purchased $10,000 TEN GRAND. Think I'm falling behind. I left with my one small bottle of Baileys mint. Isles are too small for 2 people to walk down. Forget get a shopping cart or a hand basket. I knocked bottles over holding the basket with the inside of my elbow, as I reached for a bottle with my other hand. You literally will have to put your basket down on the floor every time you reach for something. The experience was fine. It's just a small store. My go to are the small nip bottle. Selection is behind the counter so you can't shop them. And it's a small selection. They didn't have Midori, which is another go to of mine.
