The owners, a friendly husband-and-wife team, are wonderful to meet and greet you with a warm welcome. The whiskey experience here is pure Texas style, with a fantastic selection of house-made options. You can't go wrong trying any of their offerings. They also provide samples if you want to explore their variety before committing. The menu features classic bar food, including hamburgers and pizza--simple but satisfying. While I was there, they didn't have live entertainment, but they do regularly advertise performances on their Facebook page. In fact, they mentioned there would be live entertainment later that evening at 6 p.m., which was a bit of a disappointment since I couldn't stay. Their food is all made in house and very delicious!! I had the Texas Ranch Style burger with fries. The burger was very flavorful and I am glad I added jalapeños. In addition to whiskey, they also brew their own beer, which I didn't get a chance to try but will definitely check out on my next visit. They even offer tours upon request, depending on availability, which adds another layer of fun to the experience. They also sell meat products here. You can either buy from the freezer inside or by the box. Prices are listed on the menu. If it helps, you can imagine that I am speaking this review in Jim Lahey's drunken slurred speech…read more Sorry perfect beautiful liquor but this LC does not deserve you. The LC (liquor store for you non-Nova Scotians) provides the beautiful liquor so you too can become the liquor. Since I did not "pack ahead" for a road trip that I had to leave on in short notice I inquired with the front desk at my hotel where the nearest LC was - in retrospect I should have asked for the best liquor store in town rather than the nearest since the hotel itself was not exactly in the best area to begin with, unless you were in the mood for visiting two toothless hookers with a meal at the Dennys in between as your idea of a good time without even leaving the parking lot. The front desk of the hotel sent me here. It is a small store but I am not a size queen. I walked in and the liquor was haphazardly categorized in a bizarre fashion, like the motif for decorating was just "let's throw this stuff anywhere, not like it matters." I had to make a loop around the store to get my bearings first. Everything was very overpriced and the selection was abysmal. I have my preferences and I did not see a single thing I wanted or would have considered a fun find at a small town LC, but I was not going to do this thing as sober as a 12.9 year old so I had to gussy up and buy something for the hotel room. The second loop around the store I was in the zone to know I was looking for the least overpriced thing and looking for quality was out of the window, this was just a utility purchase where anything would do. Meanwhile the cashier was chatting with two friends and literally did not even look up once as I am wandering around the store for five minutes. Not that she could have helped much since they had no Irish whiskey section to speak of and the bourbon section was not worth writing home about, but clearly customer service came second to chatting with her homeys. The selection was supremely disappointing and a 750ml of Canadian Club was nearly $16 with tax which is a huge mark up for the convenience of visiting this dark, dingy store on the wrong side of the tracks with zero customer service just to get some hooch without driving all over town to find another LC. Army boys are getting taken advantage of if they visit here for the party liquors near their base. Having visited more chair force bases in my time than army, the LCs near the chair force bases are always quality because they know flyboy lips are best used for three things and one of them is downing Jim Lahey sized bottles of dark liquors. If you are visiting town in a hotel nearby ask your front desk for the BEST LC in town, not the nearest.
