OK, here's everything that I know that you need to know about barrows. Barrows is a building right in the central part of Solido. The inside of the brewing company has tables and often does live music or you can hang out at the bar in the air-conditioning but the majority of people at barrows are outside because Burrows also has a phenomenal massive concrete pad that has covered picnic tables and this is where the food trucks park. This is also where they do their live music on the weekends. From behind barrows, you can walk down to the creek, and this is where they have the ice cold natural spring that comes out of the ground. You are welcome to bring their beers down here and sit in the water or sit by the water and hang out and enjoy the creek. Depending on the day, there can be anything happening here from a farmers market to vendors to food trucks to music to dancing anything you can think of so definitely check out their Facebook page for the activities. Absolutely family friendly and there's usually tons of kids having a blast down here with their parents. We like the beer a lot and the staff is friendly and we end up here more than once every single time that we're in Salado, so don't skip it! read more

The outdoor ambience by the Salado creek is nice with many children playing around. This is a fun place for a big group. You can order from a limited menu at the outdoor bar, or go inside for the full menu. I asked the bartender about the non-beer drinks they have, and he told me about the short list of options. I opted for the siren seltzer, which he said tastes exactly like a strawberry White Claw. It unfortunately tasted very bitter and did not taste like one at all. My friend who is very familiar with White Claws tried it and confirmed my findings. read more

Great beer, great people, and great atmosphere. Their impact on the community and the events that they put on our truly amazing. Their beers are outstanding and they always have wonderful events on the weekends. Their Food Truck options are second to 9. Have a few permanent food options and rotate food trucks through on a weekly basis. The first Saturday of March they host the Texas Pizza Festival!! Food trucks are good, Sangria slushies sold by barrow are good and the creek is nice. However their rules are ridiculous because apparently they "own the creek". They say "no canopies" but apparently that means I can't have a California Co. Dome set up for small children like my year and a half old to seek shade.... to note, that's about bellybutton high on an average adult. They forced me to remove it for my daughter even though they have absolutely no customer service presence at the creek. They can sell you a 6 pack for $7 but tell you "YOU CAN'T OPEN IT HERE" because they want to charge you $7 PER DRINK to be able to drink there. It's absurd, rude, and definitely NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. read more

I've been here so many times I can't believe I have not left a review. This is my favorite go to hangout in this area. Super family, friendly relaxed Brewery with chill hang out vibe. We can go have a couple of beers and listen to some music. Bartenders here are always super friendly and so is everyone else around here. There's also a pizza food truck, and rotating food trucks. Great Place, Friendly Staff, they were out of the cider I normally get when I go to most breweries as not a big beer drinker but the bartender, Jen was most helpful with finding a good replacement. They do also have wines which I switched to later in the evening as I didn't want to drink beer anymore. I've been curious to visit since discovering Evil Catfish at a liquor store in Waco, so today my girlfriend and I made the trip on what turned out to be a very busy day at the brewery. Nice small town brewery! They have a good choice of beer to choose from. They also include their local Salado Winery on their menu. Way to really support their local businesses. Sweet Apple cider was nice. Wasn't a crisp flavor that I was expecting from cider but it was not overly sweet and smooth. I actually would buy it again! You can taste the Apple flavor for sure. They have outside seating and have food trucks to order from from. Not many, probably because of the time of year. I could only imagine during the right time of year this place probably pops! I definitely would love to come back here during the spring time summer months! But enjoyed getting out after this cold front we had for sure! read more

Big Bro and SIL suggested going to the city of Salado to explore a couple of breweries. This was stop #1. It's a no frill's place. We walked in and were plenty of tables and benches available. There are stacks of canned beer to the left and a beer bar on the right. Went and stayed with the hat tip hefeweisen the entire time we were there. Situated next to a lot of food trucks. We got a couple of things from Toka Island Grill as well as an order from Happy Pizza. (All delish!) And yes, we were allowed to bring it back inside the brewery. Service was above par. They will give out samples to satisfy curiosity. It was a great stop. Might be another one to hit during my next visit. read more

Came here during Oktoberfest for the first time. It's in such a fun little town area and has inside and outside seating. Food trucks are usually available. We have been to barrow numerous times and every time it is unpleasant. We love supporting local businesses and would rather not leave negative reviews but after the events that happened at their 6th anniversary celebration, I can no longer turn a blind eye. We had a group of 12 adults + our children. After buying a few beers on tap for all of us (and also buying the souvenir cups to drink them in) one of the employees told us we can buy the cans of beer, so we did that and were pouring them into our souvenir cups. If you haven't been to barrow, there are A LOT of rules. You can't bring outside food or drinks, even if your kids just want to stick their toes in the creek and they happen to have a bag of goldfish (they justify this by saying they have their restrooms open to everyone, but also don't advertise this) they also have employees running up and down the creek making sure you don't break their rules. You also can't go down to the creek with a drink from any other establishment other than barrow. And apparently you can't buy THEIR packs of beer and pour them into THEIR souvenir cups, you have to keep buying draft because, you know $$$. Every time we went to get drinks our entire group didn't go, and we also didn't know we couldn't pour our cans of beer into our cups. One of the woman in our group was standing in line for another (DRAFT) of beer and was told by Ashlee Lamb that she had to dump it and get out of line. After she did just that, and went back in line, Ashlee told her she was too drunk and could no longer serve her! Our friend come back to our group in TEARS after being HUMILIATED TWICE in front of a line of 30+ people! We have had issues with Ashlee before and she is ALWAYS rude. At about 7:45 pm Ashlee was walking around and came upon our group and was looking inside our wagons and told us we had to leave because we were drinking THEIR beer and pouring them into cups. She was extremely rude, and told us she would call the police if we did not leave immediately. Not only that but the employee she brought with her, had the overwhelming scent of weed and was CLEARLY high. Our group doesn't mind weed, but if that is something you care about I thought I would mention that in my review. In conclusion our group of 12 will not be giving barrow a 5,6,7etc. chance. We will not be spending anymore money there, or buying their products that other local establishments sell. If they don't want people breaking their rules they should post them so we can just decide to take our money elsewhere. read more

I really love this place. Mostly for the general vibe and energy, but the bar staff is AWESOME. The beer and cider selection is great. Plus they'll sample anything you want to try. And...swamped and busy as they are, people like SADIE make time to talk to you while they're working. Plus the outside area is really great...day or night, rain or shine. Great beer, pretty scenery, and very nice folks! While there, we I tried an IPA, stout, and a sweet cider. Everything tasted great. The staff was so nice and helpful. One of the owners was on-site to make sure everything ran smooth. Our kids got to play in the big open green space near the creek. This pub features a great selection of beer, cider, and wine; indoor and outdoor seating; clean restrooms; and they even have a EV charger on site.
