Definitely one of my favorite places in Salado! We even stopped to eat there twice last week (my suggestion) while staying at the Stagecoach Inn The food is phenomenal and Jess our waitress was amazing!! I normally don't get hamburgers when out anymore but the mushroom, swiss burger was incredible so I ordered it both times! The Shed in Salado has become one of my husband's favorite spots. He's been several times and always talks about their Dr Pepper wing sauce -- apparently it sells out fast, especially on weekends, so get it if you can! He also loves the TX BBQ chicken pizza and says it never disappoints. This time I got the margherita pizza and added grilled chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. The food overall was really good and the service was friendly and attentive. The only reason for the slightly lower rating is that several menu items were already sold out when we visited. Get there early if you want the sweet potato fries! We enjoyed some drinks and an appetizer. Inside was pleasant and outside there was live entertainment. We did notice that there was a ton of poison ivy on the roadside when we parked. So, if you have little ones avoid it if possible. read more

The service and food were exeptional during our last visit. We went with a large party of 10, 3 adults and 7 children. The waitress was very friendly and accomodated our group in a convenient area. I ordered the Double Double Burger Basket, that was so delicious and made to perfection. My children also enjoyed their meals; Chicken Fingers & Kid's Shed Pie. They were very happy with their selections and ate everything. They were given a treat of Nilla Crackers aferwards and they enjoy them too. Get the line "cook" a cigarette or something maybe that would increase their enthusiasm for "cooking". Cute place. Came on a Sunday afternoon, was greeted promptly but I sat at the bar. It wasn't too busy around 2 on a Sunday. I had the Dr. Pepper wings. No spice but we're still good. Hidden gem - I was definitely impressed. Stopped by here on the way to Dallas and it's a super cute area. We ordered 12 count wings ($13.50) and a burger with fries ($17). The Shed is located in the quaint town of Salado. It's essentially a burger place with some variety. The burger was okay, nothing special. It's rather expensive for what you get. The ambiance is inside or outside, the day was nice so we sat outside. The service is sketchy. Although everyone was very friendly, there was a lot of mixup with servers and what tables got what. So lets jump into this! If you find yourself North from Austin area and hungry, there is a sleep town off I-35 called Salado. The Shed is a country rustic style Cafe. After antique shopping , head over. Here you will find burger, dogs, salads, frito "shed" pie, pizza and the like. Their queso and salsa is a healthy portion. Chili has no beans as is right and proper but interestingly does not have tomatoes sauce but has chopped tomatoes. Very unique and good. They really should offer a cup of chili as a side dish and/or offer it as addon extra for the queso and chips! (Strong hint to owner). Burgers are solid. Buns are provided by outside vender and really really good. They are fluffy, soft and tasty. Nice relaxing place. Recommend stopping by and then try out the local brewery or antique shops. Nice stop in The Shed, I love the eclectic decor with church pews mixed with diner seats, mason jar lighting hanging from wagon wheels, really unique and fitting with the antique/ boutique/specialty stores of Salado. Food was good and I rate the pizza above Happy Pizza up the road. Food comes out fast, and the service is great, everyone is moving, refilling drinks, cleaning tables and ensuring you're taken care of. Would recommend a change in plating for kids foods, the kids pizza is served on the same metal dish it's cooked on. There is no need to tell a kid a plate is hot, just slide the pizza on to a non pipping hot plate and serve that to the child. Overall a good no frills stop and I would return if in the area. read more

Found street Parking. Place was full even for a party of 1. Small Bar was full. Greeted by a nice female. Sat at the bar and got service right away. Ordered a frozen margarita and it was terrible. It wasn't frozen, it was icy. All small bits of ice. Felt cheated out of $11. I'm sure there wasn't much margarita after all that ice. My burger and fries were hot and delicious. Very good. We have really enjoyed the Shed, but I have yet to actually dine in the restaurant, as crazy as that might sound! We usually go in and get pizza, cheese curds and dr pepper boneless wings to go. My son isn't much of a pizza person, and my daughter likes the cauliflower crust pizzas. We usually get the bbq chicken pizza. Everything tastes great, but there is an issue with consistency. Sometimes the cheese curds is just fried breading, sometimes is loaded with cheese. Sometimes its hard to close the lid on the cheese curds, sometimes its barely full. The BBQ sauce on the BBQ chicken pizza is also random on how much they will put on it. The people are nice, and if they could nail the consistency, it would be even better. read more

This is the second time we've been left waiting over 20 minutes without any service. We arrived with our hungry children and sat outside with menus in hand, but not a single staff member acknowledged us or even took a drink order. Our kids ended up thirsty, crying, and disappointed when we finally had to leave--especially since they were excited to stay and play. When I went inside to ask the hostess for help, a staff member walked by and said to her, "If she needs a server, I'll be out there in a minute," without even looking at me or speaking directly to me. I was never rude, only frustrated, but the lack of basic courtesy was really disheartening. At this point, I doubt we'll be back, and I certainly can't recommend this place. I'm not sure why my family keeps getting overlooked whether it's our skin tone, my haircut, or something else but whatever the reason, it doesn't feel good to be treated this way. read more
