I really like this place. Salads are fantastic, I had the Cobb. We had tacos last time. Hubby had the bang bang shrimp they were great, I had the bbq tacos and had to ask for bbq sauce to give it some sauciness, not bad bbq taco just not as good as the shrimp ones. Their food was right on the edge where it looked amazing it just didn't have the flavor to back it up amusing they had playing was way too loud, but the ambience is great and the food looked great. Its a modern rustic sports pub. There were 9 people in our group and we were seated immediately. Food was ok. Fries were tough like they were reheated. The chili was not edible and had too much chili powder. The onion rings were really good. The Club sandwich and French dip were also good. The Asian salad was huge and the fried shrimp on it were small and typical SYSCO frozen restaurant style. Nothing special. Service was good. Food came out fairly fast, but we were the only people in the restaurant area. There were quite a few people in the bar area. If you have a big group and want typical pub food that is hit and miss, then come here. The bar was hopping so great place for a drink and watching sports. read more

Stopped by yesterday to watch March Madness and enjoy a few beers. Great atmosphere and plenty of TV's to choose from to watch various sporting events at any time. Yuenling beer on draft offers two sizes to quench your thirst. Had the OLD-SCHOOL french dip with house chips. French dip was excellent and so was the dip just right. Sandwich was hot and well made. House chips freshly fired a good choice they were light as compared to french fries. Beer was half price from Monday-Friday from about 2PM - 6PM. DEI our bartender was spot on the whole time, she knew everyone as they walked in and got them their drinks quickly. Typical bar chain type food. I got chicken and waffles, which was slightly drizzled with syrup (dry under the chicken). I asked for a little more syrup to dip the dry pieces of waffle in. Surprised to see we were charged extra for syrup. That is a definite first in my book! read more

I've tried this place about 5 times since they opened about 2 or 3 years ago. They have been very consistent, the customer service has always been great. Some of them give off hooters/twin peak vibes with their choice of outfits. The reason I do no frequent this restaurant is because the food is just "ok" in my opinion. I placed an order online for pickup, the tracking estimate was 18 minutes. It did not take me that long to get there so when I arrived the hostess told me it was not quite ready and I could have a seat in the lobby area. I sat for about 10 minutes then my app tracking told me that my order should be ready based on the estimated time. I waved down an employee since no one had told me anything. She went to check and came back to tell me they were waiting on my french fries. I sat back down thinking that was strange, they should have been making french fries when they got the order and it wouldn't take 18 minutes. I looked at my phone again after sitting a little while and looked at my confirmation that I had got when I placed my order. I then looked at the time, and it had been 31 minutes. I went to the hostess and showed her my phone and pointed out that I had been waiting for my order 31 minutes. She went back to the back and a minute later someone brought my food out. Of course it was cold. limp french fries, fish and chips - cold fish with warm tater sauce. I guess they are not interested in pickup orders, so you can be sure they won't get another order from me. read more

I went there at about 1000 (I think) on a Saturday. It was fairly empty, but the waitresses and all other employees were engaging. I think they have music available that customers can add music to (don't ask me how!) the building playlist. Ryan was my bartender lady! So it's very simple. I've come here three or four times I've always asked for my drink with lime. They don't give you lime wedges. They give you a process squirt out of a bottle lime juice, which is not what I asked for. It's hard to find good service in Killeen. I understand I come from Las Vegas so Spoiled I guess but don't squirt something out of a bottle and then tell me that no I squeeze the lines into your drink already. read more

It's OK with good service but the food is neither unique or special. My Filipina spouse likes it. The Filipino kids complain because there isn't any rice even though 2 of the 3 work at Whataburger. Go figure! At a visit today the waitress is surly and disrespectful at my Filipino family. Obviously, she has a problem with anyone who is not white. Sad reality. Came to eat here the 6th time today 2/17/26, the food was lousy. I have ordered the same thing baja tacos but you can't have the cod served on gluten free tacos as they don't have any. Very strange you have to have it on a salad or cole slaw or lettuce wrap. The first time we ate here the food was excellent. Each time we returned the food has gotten much worse. Every time the portions have gotten smaller. Today I order two plates. Out came 2 -3 tiny burned pieces of cod loaded with spices and a lot of salt. I ordered fries as my side they came out much later after I asked to speak to the manager. I told the kitchen manager the food was not edible and she could take it away. Also, the fries were loaded with salt. She asked what she could do to make it better. She told me I can grill you some new cod with out spices and give you a sauce to dip them in. I was very reluctant to try again, but I was so hungry so I gave them another chance. I ate it all as I was so famished. I cannot brag about the taste of the food, the cod was much bigger but dipping sauce was salty not a good flavor. She did tell us they had a new kitchen staff but that must have been the case when we came the other five times too. My husband ordered steak fingers which were very small pieces of cube steak dipped in very large amounts of batter and very dry and chewy. We mentioned that and her reply was we have to hand dip them they come frozen not in batter. His drink we had to return from the git go as the sprite looked like 2 tiny dead bugs maybe ants at the rim of plastic cup. My other suggestion would be to bring ear plugs as they blast the music to loud. Had I thought I should have taken pictures to show the issues. Our waitress was not very customer service friendly. After she bought us water and gave us time to look over the menu, she disappeared. Eventually, my daughter went to look for her. I ordered the fried fish baja tacos with french fries & my daughter ordered the brisket grilled cheese sandwich with the house chips. The brisket sandwich was very big. My daughter said the brisket was good, but the taste was overpowered by the american cheese. She also said the house chips were too salty. My fish tacos was a joke. I had to remove the onions and all the other toppings to find a small piece of fish. Also, the fish was splattered with some type of sour cream sauce which did not taste good at all & was purple. The fish was fried but had no crunch to it. The best part of my meal was my Coke soda. I was very disappointed and will not be going back ever again. I came in with some friends for some burgers and brews. The food was great and the beer was delicious our waitress audrey was kind very attentive and funny. The manager alex even talked to us for a while about the drink menu and convinced us to try some cocktails i never would have ordered on my own. Their food is good if you eat there, don't order through take out it will be ice cold and wrong by the time you get home. Don't go off their ETA of when it will be done, add another 40 mins! Ambience - sports - lots of TVs with College football - families - couples - groups - all seemed to be having a good time and lots of cheer! Not loud in there like some places are loud! Food was good- not "bar" food. Had the chicken tenders - huge tenders and large meal Another had the large Urban Cowboy Burger- huge burger and he wolfed it down! Sweet potato fries! Another had .... The fries pickles were okay, very thin and oily. My daughter ordered the brisket tacos and it was dry but way better than the wings. Backporch is always awesome. I used to go to the ones in Lawton and Wichita Falls before we moved to Fort Hood area. So happy they are here. Staff is always great and quick, friendly and attentive. Today I got something new (which is diff bc I usually have something I like and get it every time) Buffalo salad, no egg, add croutons. It's HUGE, Fresh, delish and 10/10 would get again. Also half order loaded queso fries, they are prob my fave fries of this style anywhere. The Good: service; the owner, Kevin, is friendly and attentive. Server (sorry, don't remember name) was sweet. The food was good. I ordered their month- long special which was a foot long coney. Not on the menu, so I couldn't see what came on it. Options were either "all-American" or chili- cheese. I ordered all American. Took a while to get to table but that's ok. Bad: When it showed up, it looked great, except it had ketchup slathered on it (along with relish and onions). Now, I know that folks are particular about condiments on their hot dogs and I am of the camp that likes mustard, not ketchup. So I wish that they did not cover it with ketchup. Especially since they put a bottle of it on the table! I asked for mustard and she brought me a small dish of it. I was also given the choice of tater tots instead of fries without knowing it was $2 extra (because again this special was not written on a menu anywhere.) I really dislike when substitution upcharges are not explained ahead of time. But what disappointed me most was when I got the bill, I was charged $0.50 for a small tub of yellow mustard!! On an "all American" hot dog?!! I could understand if I'd asked for sour cream or some fancy condiment, but yellow mustard in a burger joint? No telling what the upcharge for chili and cheese would have been. Too bad cuz the staff was friendly and the beer and food were tasty, but I will not return because I cannot stand when an establishment nickel-and- dimes customers like that. read more

First time trying this place out gave a very open and sporty vibe. Some what clean. The air was not pleasant as if a restroom pipe had burst. Thankfully they did sit us in a back open view place and was very comforting. Staff was very nice. My husband got the cowboy burger which was very nice but also tasted like just any other burger. Thought it would have a little kick to it but really didn't. He ended up loving mine I got the legend which was amazing I couldn't finish. Loved everything about it. Very top tier with the toppings. I hosted a ladies lunch for 14 on May 11, 2024. I made reservations a few weeks in advance. I arrived 20 minutes early and the table was ready in a quiet area of the restaurant. The Back Porch Restaurant in Killeen is pure garage, from the quality of food to the customer service. Mind there are some good servers, but in the general the entire customer service atmosphere is terrible. I have beaten there a couple of times, but haven't return. Overall I think it's a nice place. I had a falling out with them, but I do feel sorry for my part in everything. Nobody is right when everybody's wrong, and all that. I really enjoyed the reubin sandwich and was very impressed by their bloody mary's. I couldn't even taste any alcohol, and they put bacon in it. It is awesome.
