Had dinner with friends at The Vineyard at Florence Saturday. Started with drinks at the bar. Friendly service and the kind of atmosphere that you expect at a high end establishment. Knob Creek rocks, Elijah Craig rocks, a Ranch Water (a bit too sweet), and a classic Italian Aperol Spritz. Dinner on the patio starting with a smoked bacon appetizer followed by a wedge salad. Sugared bacon was delicious. Wedge didn't have the salad core removed which was a bit disappointing. Shared a coal-fired Margarita pizza with chicken added. Pizza was cooked perfectly and was delicious with a healthy amount of ingredients, including the excellent blend of cheeses. Our waiter Peter was very professional, friendly and informative. Definitely recommend the Vineyard for an upscale night out with excellent ambiance featuring a Mediterranean decor. Will go back. read more

Food was way overpriced. We went for brunch and I had the Texas Eggs Benedict--it was honestly not edible. The hollandaise was so heavy on lemon it overpowered everything. It looked pretty, but nothing came together, and the biscuit was very dry. We also tried the Cuban sandwich--way too fatty and overly thick, hard to enjoy. The loaded croissant, however, was very good, and the fries were solid. The artichoke dip had little to no flavor, and the bread wasn't grilled like the menu said. The atmosphere was beautiful--you feel like you're in a villa. The country drive out there is nice, and the grounds are gorgeous. Drinks were on point and the wine was good, though pricey for a small pour. Our waiter was friendly but not very attentive. Overall, probably won't be back. We've had much better experiences at wineries in Fredericksburg. I don't mind paying for an expensive meal if it's worth it--this just wasn't. Very disappointed. read more

We've been going there for three years for the Father's Day car show and always have a wonderful time. It's a lovely venue and reminiscient of many of the vineyards we've visisted in Napa. We always eat and drink while we're there and the food has been consistantly delicious. Although, this year I tried the Margherita pizza and while it wasn't like any Margherita that I'd had before, it was tasty. The venue is upscale, the service is alway stellar and everyone is hospitable. I took some new people this year and we've agreed to try to make this a more than annual event. I absolutely loved this place! A hidden gem in Florence. I never expected a vineyard, hotel & event center there! From the moment we walked into the rustic building, we were welcomed & felt like we were home! We were quickly seated, and I wasn't thrilled with where we were. I asked to be seated where we could gaze out a window & enjoy our surroundings, and we were immediately moved. No attitude, just awesome customer service! Our order was taken, and the food arrived fast & hot. I had the garden omelette, and my dining companions both ordered flatbread pizzas. There was plenty for them to take home! Went to The Vineyard at Florence to celebrate a dear friend's bday party. She mentioned that there was a $10 per person deposit for reservations. The drive from Austin was long due to rush hour traffic on a weeknight. Vineyard at Florence is a beautiful destination of authentic Italian pastoral culture nestled in 600 scenic acres in the Texas hill country. We ate at the Farmers Commons restaurant and had a party of 5. A farm-to-table dining experience that provides a modern twist on traditions - uniting locally grown seasonal, peak quality ingredients with an ethos of comfort in authentic and nourishing flavors. The dining area was very bright and vibrant with a friendly vibe For cocktails, I had the black widow with muddled berries and blackberry syrup and a sugar rim. We started our meal with the smoked candied bacon appetizer with smoked thick cut bacon served under a glass lid filled with smoke. The bacon flavor was very tasty with a bit of a spicy kick and came served with 3 dips: lavender honey, white bbq sauce and austin maple syrup Three people in our party ordered the Parmesan chicken with orzo. The consensus was that the dish was a bit bland and we had to add lots of salt and pepper to flavor the dish. We also thought the price point was a bit high and the portion size very large for one person. Another person ordered the Shrimp and Grits with large shrimp and cajun peppercorn sauce and andouille sausage. Overall the venue was amazing with all the views and the planned landscape. We have been wanting to try this place out since we first heard about it 6 months ago. Finally got our chance on a Saturday afternoon. We loved it! My wife and I each ordered a tasting flight (I had the Grape Escape (all reds) for $38 and she had the Through the Grapevine (2 reds and 2 whites) for $35). The wines were nice, but not $35+ worth. Small pours for that kind of money. We also tried the artichoke/spinach dip with homemade bread ($16) and I tried their Smoked Rosemary Old Fashioned ($20). The dip was amazing as was the bread. The Old Fashioned was ok, but a little too much honey in it which made it too sweet, and a weak, limp piece of rosemary that should have been fresh and pungent (which it was not). We sat outside on the deck and really enjoyed the ambiance, nice breeze, and smells from the smoker and wood fired pizza oven. Service was good, with our server checking in on us often to ensure all was well. Overall, the place is beautiful and the food we tried was great. Wine prices are inflated, averaging almost $10 more per bottle than other wineries in the area. We did buy a bottle of their Rapture Trebbiano ($47) to take home and we want to return to try the pizza as well as some of the other wines and will likely do so in the coming month. We attended their recent Mother's Day brunch. I would rate the overall experience as a 3.75-4 stars. We parked and entered the restaurant instead of the brunch venue but I didn't see any signs. The vendor market was nice. We were treated to a free Pineapple Mimosa and it was delicious! I bought my favorite Color Street nails at a booth before our brunch reservations. The entire vineyard has a beautiful scenery and is lovely all around. The rain held up just in time! The decor and setup for brunch felt like a wedding reception, not good or bad. It was very clean, nice, and the atmosphere was great. The buffet had a lot of delicious options but I found many cold items, like the quiche, which was also very heavy and greasy. The French toast was also cold and dense. They kept running out of things and it seemed to take too long to replenish. For the price, however, I would expect warm/hot items. I never got to try the creme Brule and dragonfruit because they kept running out. We did enjoy our time. The mimosas were good and most of the food was good. read more

I made a reservation for brunch and was told at the time that only patio seating was available. Fair enough. But when we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, plenty of indoor tables available, yet we were still told the patio was our only option. (It pretty much stayed empty fyi) No fan, no flexibility. It felt dismissive and unnecessary, especially considering the heat. The food didn't redeem the experience. I ordered the Caesar salad with chicken, and it was a mess. The chicken tasted like it had been boiled, dry and flavorless, and the lettuce was oddly charred and rubbery. It should've been the other way around. I ate half and mentioned it to our server, who admitted it wasn't their standard. Still, it showed up on the bill. I didn't push the issue, but it was frustrating. We moved to the tasting room afterward, which started off fine. But then we tried to use the restrooms several times and found them locked for long stretches. Eventually, employees came out, and saw them outside, they'd been getting high! I'm not sure if it was in the bathrooms but they were several of them in there for a long period of time. I was with my daughter and meeting her boyfriend for the first time, so that was especially disappointing for a first impression. The setting is lovely and the potential is there, but the lack of professionalism and basic hospitality really soured the experience. I hope they take this kind of feedback seriously, because the details matter, especially when guests are trying to enjoy a day out. read more

Checked in with the bartender on arrival and was handed menus, silverware wrapped in napkins, and told to choose a seat outside. We didn't expect this cafeteria-style welcome, especially after viewing the menu. Since this is a vineyard, we were surprised there were no Vineyard at Florence wines featured on the menu. The mostly unheard-of varieties were costly. The one Chardonnay on the menu was $26 per glass and $110 per bottle! We had dined here twice before, and the food was mediocre. Thinking we'd give them another chance, the high prices and lack of outside service caused us to leave. We headed back to Georgetown and had a lovely dinner, outside, listening to live music for the $100 that would have just covered the wine at The Vineyard at Florence. read more

The views are so picturesque! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We ordered a bottle or 2 or 3 of wine, a couple of shareables and a main course each. I rented the Winemakers Villa with 9 of my girlfriends for my 40th bday. We had a wine tasting followed by hanging out in the pool & then had a beautiful delicious dinner! It's a gorgeous property that makes you feel like you're in Italy! It was a BLAST! Everyone said they wished we had planned to stay all wknd instead of just one night. My only complaints would be 1. I wish there were more amenities with the Winemakers Villa, like a private tasting at the house or brunch delivery. Next to weddings, that seems like it would be their biggest money maker and worth it to provide a bit more than JUST the house. I think even the small rooms have room service? 2. Some of the welcoming staff weren't very welcoming or friendly. Maybe they were having a bad week, but if a group of people come in excited to be there & spend money at your place for a couple of days- celebrate with them! Be excited with them. Now, that wasn't everyone. I thought the restaurant staff were all amazing, the people I talked to on the phone were great, the wine tasting guys were great...just the check-in / check out girl was just... cold? It was FIRST CLASS from beginning to end including the all of the printed souvenir materials, rehearsal, groom's family (awesome) dinner, wedding day Bridal Suite preparation morning, including continental champagne breakfast, to hair and make-up (fun, fun time), and of course dressing the bride. We stayed in the Villa with 5 couples for NYE. The location & lights outside are beautiful. The place is spacious. The inside of the home needs work. The carpet is stained badly in several rooms. A door was removed from sink to toilet area & there is no lock on the door to the bathroom that is shared with 2 downstairs guests! The 2 rooms downstairs have queen beds & 3 rooms upstairs have kings. We went for wine tasting & you get 4 small samples for $38. Automatic gratuity is 20%. I don't mind for good service but wait staff were not friendly. Each couple paid $97. We asked for oyster crackers or something to cleanse our palate & they don't offer anything. We were there about 1-1/2 hrs & together pd almost $500. The wine was ok but out of 10, only 1 person was impressed enough to purchase 1 bottle. (We are all wine drinkers) You can purchase a charcuterie board but we ate lunch before we attended. When we left, we asked one of the ladies at the bar if they would take our photo. They said in a few minutes. We waited, asked again & 1 lady hollered at another to take our photo , no smiles or friendly communication during our entire visit. Other table nearby was given a table fan to help deter flies ( which tells one they know of issue) but were not offered one. After that couple left we took that fan. Our server said "I'll get you another one". Didn't happen. Numerous items on menu not available, 5:30 pm on a Saturday night! Drinks were extremely weak, little to no alcohol. Server was courteous but had no business being on the wait staff. Service extremely slow. Cannot imagine what would bring us back. Not sure where to start reservations for brunch at 11 AM celebrating my daughter's 26th birthday. From the minute we got there terrible service. I ordered two appetizers and everyone ordered cocktails. It took a good minute to get anything to our table and when we did, the biscuits were stale and candied bacon was cold like it had been in the refrigerator. Against my better judgment after brunch, we went out on the patio hoping service would change trying to enjoy the ambience no wait staff I had to go in and ask for help. Came here with a group of 4 of us for the first time a couple of months ago. It was such a lovely vineyard and worth the drive from Austin. We came for brunch and the food was really good. They had a wine race they day so it was really busy at the bars and in the restaurant. We wanted to try certain reds but they weren't serving all of them due to the race I guess. We had a reservation for our table and sat right next to a gentleman who was playing some lovely saxophone music. The reason for the 4 stars is that they were out of a few things we wanted to order (both food and drinks.) We walked around the lovely venue after we ate. They had a full live band playing some old-school jams outside. They have a cool little game room area as well. Overall we enjoyed our time here and will be back. Feeling fancy, head over to this beautifully decorated vineyard in Florence. The inside is lit up with beautiful chandeliers and hanging lights accentuated with hanging plants on the wall. Another great addition is the game room that has a pool table, shuffle board, and checkers/backgammon table. Plenty of outside 'em seating for those sunny Texas days. The only downfall was our waitstaff was not super attentive as I am still uninformed if the wine is from their own vineyard or outsourced. My company hosted a work offsite/ retreat here and it was awesome! They had great meeting space for a group of 12 and we had the necessary AV/ conference call support one would expect for meetings. However all the other benefits are what made this place stand out. First, we got to stay overnight and the rooms are stunning. They are super comfortable and look very high end, and the morning and night views are amazing. Second, the food is fabulous. The chef is top top notch. Seriously every meal was amazing. Fresh, seasonal, tasty...did I mention it was amazing? Third, the grounds are stunning. The patios, walking trails, picnic areas, outdoor spaces and the pool area are gorgeous. This place has a country feel to it, so it's perfect if you need a break from the city and it's not a far drive from Austin. Finally, our team building activities were so fun! We had a private wine tour and tasting. We also had a team building "cook your own dinner" event and it was so fun. The main chef was there to teach us and of course the food was amazing. While my first visit was work related during the week, they do offer brunch, wine tastings and tours. They also have a stone oven pizza that smells heavenly when it's fired up with pizzas.
