We try to come down to the Georgetown Square anytime we can make time for it. Kork is slightly off the square but it's got a great inside and a decent patio. The wine list is extensive, there's just enough food to add a little flavor to an evening, and it's easy to get to, and from the rest of the square and the hustle and bustle of the square traffic. Kork has what's probably the best wine list on the Square. Lots of choice and variety including flights so you can sample several different grapes at once. It's easy for an evening out and a great place to avoid the crowds. read more

The one ding against this lovely spot is the staffs actual wine knowledge - which could be a tad better for a wine bar. It took us talking to three staff members before we could convince them that the red blend from California they brought to the table was not an Oregon Pinot Noir! I am so feckin glad we stopped at this fabulous little place! We had a difficult go of it trying to find a place shielded from the cold breeze where we could sit with my dog. Kork's outdoor seating was protected from the wind and they had powerful heaters that they were more than happy to turn on for us. Christopher was our waiter and he was by far one of the best ones we've ever had. EVER! We bonded on where we all previously lived among other things but even without that, he was fantastic; so knowledgeable and so fun. I love the tasting sizes so you can sample a few before deciding on a full glass, which I did with the Sancerre because it's just so phenomenally delicious. Paired with the Funghi and Brie pizza, it was orgasmic. Christopher sold us on the pizza and I'm so glad he did. It was absolutely scrumptious and very light! Delightfully un-American. We snacked on the heavenly popcorn too. Totally took our time, fully enjoying every bite, sip and bit of conversation. When I went inside to use the loo, I saw how cosy and adorable it was and immediately was already looking forward to going back. Bonus points on the loo rooms by the way - gender neutral! On Kork's printed wine list, there were four Rosés to choose from. We were disappointed that only one of the Rosés listed was available, and it wasn't the one we had requested. Since we were not familiar with their only choice, we asked our server if we could have a small taste (not a tasting) of it. He brought us our taste, and we ordered two glasses. We were charged $8 for the taste! We asked for the manager, who tersely explained that tastings are never free. We tried to explain that we did not ask for a tasting size; we requested a small taste to see if we should purchase the wine or not. We mentioned the fact that they have four Rosés on their printed wine list, but only one (the most expensive of the four) was available! To that she replied, "We have not had time to reprint our wine list." In the end, we refused to pay the $8, and she reluctantly agreed to waive the charge. All in all, what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable experience was not . . . and Kork lost a good customer. read more

It's become very sad. This used to be one of my favorite spots on the square. Before COVID w could count on food service and atmosphere to be top notch. They still have an outstanding wine list. The menu has changed but still contains most of the core items that we have always enjoyed. The disappointing part is the service has gone so far down hill it's no longer enjoyable to go there. Tonight was our final attempt. It was not busy there and we thought we would try again. Unfortunately after being seated and getting water we received no more service. Pizzas are Neapolitan style, softer chewier crust with a "wet" center. It was average- good. On the pricer side. Given that you are at the Georgetown square and can walk and explore I wouldn't consider this a culinary stand out but a viable choice for the area. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Recommend parking in the bigger lot btwn sweet lemon and the church or neighborhood as the square fills up fast. read more

Always reliable with great bites and wine on the Square. The honey ricotta appetizer is amazingly good and the charcuterie board is a lovely pairing with a glass of wine. If the weather is nice, try sitting outside. Service is knowledgeable about the menu and wine offerings. We've never had a problem getting a table. Great selection of wine with beautiful indoor and outdoor space. We stumbled upon this place while walking the square on a beautiful day. They give you wine in a plastic cup to enjoy outside and to walk the square if that is your preference. We didn't try the menu this time but will be back for it. I have always loved this place for it's food. The margherita pizza is done perfectly at least for us, no tomato slices to make it soggy, just the right amount of sauce on top, plus the dough is chewy and not crispy for how thin it is. They also kindly split a single caesar salad into two portions and I thought it was two separate orders until we had received the check. We stopped in at Kork while waiting for a seat at a nearby restaurant. We enjoyed the bar so much that we ended up having dinner here. The venue has a cool industrial vibe and is very spacious and comfortable. There is a nice selection of wine and beer along their selection of "small bites" - appetizers, salads, pizza, and dessert items. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. I enjoyed the olive oil and oregano popcorn (hard to stop eating it) and the Caesar salad was tasty. However, the pizza was a big disappointment. We ordered the suprema (buffalo mozzarella with sausage, mushrooms, onions and green pepper) and the Funghi + Formaggi (buffalo mozzarella, mushrooms, brie, and pepper). The toppings were delicious but unfortunately, completely spoiled by a papery, leathery thin crust that completely wilted. It was also chewy in an unpleasant manner. Not sure if it was not baked properly or if the dough was simply poorly made but in the end it didn't matter-the pizza was a huge disappointment. I deducted a star from the review. It's too bad because everything else about this restaurant is stellar, including the friendly and attentive service. We'll be back to Kork but will avoid the pizza next visit. read more

First visit was wine only and the service was really attentive and informative; so we came again shortly after for HH and it just missed the mark. I went in today, 11/9/24 to have a glass of wine. I asked who appeared to be the manager for a glass of House Cab. It's my first time here, not exactly a big wine drinker, but trusted him to give me a glass of wine in the price range of house cab. Usually that's the least expensive. Prices for Cab started at 8, 12, 16. Again, I trust him to give me a glass of House cab in this range. I said pick one out for me. He poured it and left. My friend arrived and had the same thing as I. Imagine our surprise when our bill came, and we were charged $24 for each glass. I almost fell over! We had already consumed the wine, there was no question that I had to pay for it. I pointed at the manager, who I originally asked to give me a glass of House cab, and I told the bartender, and said "shame on him!" because I asked for a glass of House cab, and he gave me an expensive wine. I was not expecting to pay that. It was a nice enough wine, but I was thoroughly disappointed in the bait and switch treatment. I hope someone at this establishment sees this review and reaches out to me. I'd really like to have a discussion to the shady treatment. It was complete BS. Wont' be back. read more

We sort of fell into Kork while attending GT Market Days. This is a wonderful wine bar with a very extensive wine list. We discovered a reasonably priced organic California Cab on this visit. Service at the bar was excellent and a sample was provided before we ordered. Kork has a wonderful menu that pairs well with wine. We did not order their pizza but they look delicious.
