We have odd work schedules so it's difficult finding time to make a trip out here, especially with it being so far away from us. So it's pretty disappointing when we find out it's closed every time we try to visit. The first time we tried to come it was on Memorial weekend. According to Google it closes at 3pm. We arrived at 2pm on Sunday not knowing that Google showed the incorrect hours. Fair enough since it was a holiday weekend and we should have called ahead to ask about their hours. The second time we tried to come, we tried coming on a Sunday again. We called a day before so we could double check if they would be open. They told us on the phone that they would be open. Their hours on Sundays are from 10am-2pm. We show up around 12:30pm, but they were closed again even though their sign said they close at 2pm on Sundays. Wine Sensation moved to Georgetown this year, and though it's a bit farther of a drive for me from Pflugerville, I really enjoy the new digs at Wolf Ranch. We are Wine Club members and always enjoy coming out for the monthly tastings (which come with delicious food pairings), as well as some of the other fun events. For example, recently we did a trivia that was unique -- different from other trivias. I like how the space is organized around a central square-shaped wine bar. It feels much more community-focused that way, and I've even gotten to know some people just striking up conversations. I definitely recommend this place to wine lovers! read more

This place has been on my list for a while and I was finally able to make a visit. Please be advised, the parking lot is small. If you are unable to get a spot in the lot, I am sure there's parking on the residential street. The inside is also fairly small but there's an outdoor patio with more seating. I kind of expected different from this place but thats not to say I didn't enjoy. While I love drinking wine, I wouldn't say I'm a pro wine drinker so having recommendations from the bartender was a plus. I decided on the flight with four wines on the "sweeter" side. Each are 2oz pours and the price is based on the kind of wine. Depending on the kind of the chosen, a flight is around $16. They have a food menu that includes cheeses, salads, pizzas and others but since I wasn't hungry, I didn't order anything. They also have a Wine Club that offers a variety of perks from discounts to free tastings. I'd like to revisit to see how the food as well as considering joining the club. I came here last week for a private birthday celebration. I had a great time. The staff was very attentive and moved very quickly. We even got a chance to meet the owner, who even stepped in to assist with delivering drinks and food to the party. They had their own parking lot which made parking very easy, and plenty street parking! I got the pizza and stuffed mushroom which were both pretty good. They didn't have many food options which most winery like establishments do not. The guacamole didn't have any spices or seasoning. They also didn't have many sweet options. I only saw moscato. If they add more sweet options like Shiraz I will definitely come back. read more

My company had a small holiday party here. We signed up for the wine tasting event on Saturday. Wine sensation put us all together in the back room, there were 10 of us in total. The place is very small with two private bathrooms and a kitchen. The kitchen has some food but we did not eat there. Our wine tasting came with dessert pairing. I did not eat any of the desserts because I am dairy and gluten-free. My husband said the peanut butter fudge and zucchini bread were delicious. The wine overall was okay. There was one that was a cab with a spicy finish that I enjoyed the most. The service was interesting. They had sold out the event or if not it was close. The people here were running around with their heads cut off. We had flagged down someone so we could figure out how this wine tasting work. The server was super flustered and threw down a paper that showed desserts and wine pairing and walked away without explaining. Ummm...okay. We would also get our wine randomly and in a plastic cup. We really liked it here. Hadn't explored Round Rock before, so we were pleasantly surprised to find the downtown area and its chill vibe. Wine Sensation has a rustic feel. We arrived shortly before closing. Since it's a tapas sort of place, and it was so late, the restaurant was mostly empty, except for a group of women at a table inside and a couple outside on the deck. The outside deck is spacious with tables and string lights for a calming feel. Soft music plays in the background. My only suggestion would be to add a row of tall bushes to block the view and sound of the street and make it more homey. We sat outside after eating but enjoyed our meal at the bar. I was put off by the bartender, at first, as he seemed kind of aloof. But he warmed up quickly. Games, like Rubiks Cube, line the bar. Entertaining while you wait for your food. Though we couldn't figure our game out and had to ask the bartender for help. The husband, who knows way more about wine than I do, said the wy list was good. I just liked that were wines from all over the world, because I tend to like ones from South America and Europe best. We order cheese and meat plates, bacon-wrapped dates and a salad, all delicious and fresh. We planned to go to dinner afterward, but serving sizes were big enough that we were no longer hungry. A little bit ago I went to wine sensation with a friend to a complementary wine tasting. When we walked into the establishment, it seemed to be a bit cramped. We waited about 4 minutes to be greeted by someone at the front. We advised the staff member who greeted us that we were there for a wine tasting and were taken outside to the back of the establishment to an area with wooden picnic tables and seating. Once seated outside, we were greeted by a server within 10 minutes. We advised the waiter that we were there for the wine tasting and he pointed us to what seemed to be a rolling bar where a member of the staff was providing a sampling of three different wines. The "sommelier" seemed to be somewhat knowledgeable about the wines but left many questions unanswered. After the short tasting, my guest and I went back to the picnic table where we were seated and ordered the bacon-wrapped dates, bruschetta and a humus, pita and carrot plate. Overall, the tapas menu to accompany the wine is a bit lacking and the vine selection and sampling is a half-step up from HEB (actually HEB has more vino). read more

I'm baffled by the high reviews here. I've been twice now, and both times were underwhelming. The atmosphere reminds me of a small rec room in a nursing home. Dingy yellow walls, minimal & outdated wall decor, cheap tables and impractical chairs. The lights over the bar feel like intense spotlights. The back patio could be a real selling point, but it's mostly just a smoker's area, so that kills the vibe. The wine is subpar. I've tried 3 different glasses, and all were an unpleasant chore to get through. Most of their options are available at the store for $10-15 a bottle, and that's what they're charging by the glass. Example - Tilia Cabernet info on Vivino says the average rating is 3.3/5, and a bottle is about $10.99. They're selling this underwhelming option at $10/glass. You can find better wine selections at a boring chain steakhouse, which is a huge disappointment from a place claiming to be specialty wine bar. The service is functional, but that's it. No friendly chitchat, no helpful suggestions, no interaction beyond "what do you want, here ya go". I don't consider myself a wine snob by any stretch of the imagination, but if you have even the slightest interest or experience in somewhat decent wine, I recommend going just about anywhere else for a good glass of wine. read more

We sat at the bar and got to chat with the amazing staff and some of the regulars. After last night, I want to become a regular here too! Great place to hang out outside and drink wine. I love that a place like this exists in Round Rock without having to drive in to Austin. They have board games and horseshoes outside as well. Tried the humus trio and the cheese plate. The food was ok. Nothing outstanding. This is our absolute favorite wine bar! The wine is fantastic, the food is amazing, and the service is top notch! We feel like family every time we go in. Plus, they have a dog run which is so cool, we can bring our dog, sit on the patio, and just enjoy a nice day. They were even very accommodating for my birthday when we needed a place to seat 20+ people. I attended their "sweetheart dinner" event for Valentine's Day. I will not recommend this event to anyone in the future. Wine Sensation should NOT even attempt to do another event such as this again. They are not equipped to manage more than 3-4 tables.You are required to make a $50 deposit to reserve the table. At the time the deposit is made, they inform you that your deposit will be deducted from your bill; however, they do not honor this agreement at the end of the meal. The bill was well over $250 for sub par service, decent food and an atmosphere lacking any hint of romance. If the $50 had been deducted and the servers would have at least attempted to provide some level of customer service...or at a minimum, wear some semblance of a uniform... I would not have felt as if they were intentionally fleecing their customers. They should really reach out to everyone that attended the dinner and offer them a $50 gift card or refund their deposit because they failed to deduct their deposit from the meal. I simply paid for my meal and left but the two tables that left before me were upset and complained about being over charged and having poor service... I know they will not be back. I would return for a drink but would never consider going for an event unless there was some attempt to make this right. read more

I would probably recommend eating the food their. I order thru Uber eats and by the time it got to me the pizza was super cold. It was delicious so I appreciate the flavor. Loved that it was a thin crust. I also had the capresse salad which was not what I expected. It wasn't as good as I would have hoped . Shhh it's a secret hidden in plain sight: Tucked beside a Sally Beauty Supply store, between Target and Michaels, in a strip mall, at a huge intersection of I-35 and 45, in Round Rock. If you blink you'll miss it. You will be missing out on a charming, unpretentious little casual wine bar with a great rotating selection and good prices. It's cozy and modern inside with a good amount of seating and a nice bar. There's a small area at the front for live music in the evenings and when I've been there the music hasn't been too overpowering. Just grab a tall bar table in the back if you want to chat during a live show. The wine by the glass selection seems to change weekly. I usually try a flight- 3 wines for $2-3 dollars a glass to get a taste of what's good. The wines are actually numbered so if I'm intimidated by a pronunciation I can just order "number 2" without feeling judged. Some would see this as dumbing down. I see this as being kind to wine dorks like me. Each wine in the flight is served in a small carafe with a little numbered bead on a cord to label each wine. This is PERFECT for me because I have the worst memory in the history of ever so I can keep looking up on the menu what I'm drinking and try to recognize the flavors given in the description. Wine-loving dog owners have a little patio area on the front sidewalk. Sometimes there are even special treats for the puppies! It gets a little breezy though so batten down the hatches things will blow away. There's a really cool pyramid heater out there for chilly days and nights. The food is usually secondary to me since I'm there for the wine! But I have tried the fruit and cheese plate - which had some nice little surprises like sage honey and a gluten-free option. I usually go for the 3 for $10 olive oil/balsamic vinegar sampler. The menu looks great though I keep meaning to try it out. Super cute little homey place. I was expecting some place bigger and was a little surprised by how much I liked it there. It's small and quiet and wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night (although there was definitely a nice size crowd). The bartenders were sooo nice and offered great suggestions on wine. I had 2 glasses of the Tempranillo and made me even happier to find out happy hour was still going on until 9pm on a Saturday! When your life has been turned a bit upside down and you find yourself spending loooong hours at Seton Williamson hospital, this place can be your sanity saver. By the end of day two of staring at hospital walls, my hubby insisted I get out and get something to eat. Unfortunately that was at 7:30 on a Friday nite in Round Rock, where, apparently, it's next to impossible to get into any restaurant that has quality food (Greenhouse, Jack Allens and Cover 3, I'm lookin at you). I was on my way to my FIFTH option, nearly in tears of frustration and needing a drink badly, when I saw fairy lights and a sign that said "WINE" out of the corner of my eye. I made a quick U-turn on Mays, slid easily into a parking spot and walked into a quiet wine bar, where I was greeted warmly by the ladies behind the bar. Thus began my love affair of Wine Sensation. That first nite, I sat myself on their quiet, lovely deck and drank a couple glasses of wine and ate the best spinach salad I'd ever had....my opinion of this salad may have been affected by the long days of eating breakfast tacos and chips and junk, but it was so good, I returned Saturday evening to get more. This time, imagine my delighted surprise, to find it was HAPPY HOUR on a Saturday! So all those things I loved, the wine, the spinach salad,and the housemade hummus and pitas were all $1 off! Heaven on a discount!! By this time, I'd gotten on first name terms with Rachel, the waitress. She was amazingly accomodating and sympathetic. And if she said "What else do you need, Dearest?" one more time, I might have crumpled in her arms. And, so, that's how I found myself there again, third day in a row, on Sunday Funday. They are normally closed on Sundays, but the first Sunday of the month, they rotate their wine selection and all the "old" selection is sold at $6/glass. The also have "all you can eat bbq" which, on this sunday, they were offering chicken and beef kabobs and a baked potato bar. They also brought out that amazing housemade hummus again. I sat at that bar, literally surrounded by wine bottles, ate good food, and chatted with Rachel for an hour and I could FEEL my sanity restored. Heard this place moved thanks to Community Impact Newspaper. And decided to check It out for brunch. Met the owners, chef... And the resident dog Bentley. Great bunch! We had the spinach and mushroom scramble, a healthy choice with option to add bacon. We didn't because we decided to try to Monte Cristo... omg! Prosecco rounded out the meal as did water for our pooch Bailey. It was a beautiful morning on the deck, perfectly shaded and dog friendly. Perhaps the most dog friendly place we've been outside of a dog park! Next time, I'd love to try the flatbreads and the bocci court! We'll be back! read more

I absolutely adore this spot. My friends might say I'm a little obsessed and that I spend too much time here... Until they come along with me. Then they understand. Their wine selections rotate but they always have great choices. Talk to them! The owners are really helpful (Barbara is great!) and they'll help you find what you like. They do regular wine tastings and have monthly wine club that really is a great deal. They also do special events to support local pet groups and their outside area is small but dog friendly. Not into wine? They have great taste in beer (though a smaller selection) and cheap happy hour beer specials. I come for the wine but drag my beer-loving friend with me nearly every time I go. EAT! The food is great! The flatbreads are divine. My favorites? Spinach, basil, truffle oil. Prosciutto and truffle oil. Chicken and onion. You can customize, too, so try the pesto options. I love the mixed greens salad with chicken as another meal option. The truffle oil mac n cheese is great but too rich for me. I had to throw in red pepper flakes to break up the flavors. All of the appetizers so far have been great. The bacon-wrapped dates are sooo good. They offer balsamic and olive oil tastings where you can mix and match, so there are plenty of options. A friend and I were looking for something kind of relaxing after a long day. We wanted wine and charcuterie. Found this little gem and fell instantly in love! It will be a regular repeat for me whenever I visit. They have a great wine selection and we were very happy about that. We were not hungry enough to order their flatbreads but they look amazing! I gave four stars because they don't offer a combo of meats and cheeses, you just have to order one of each serving. We got three cheeses, one soft, one semi soft and one port infused. They were ok. There was a selection of four meats... salami, prosciutto, Spanish chorizo and spicy salami. Some grainy mustard, candied pecans, fruit and sliced baguette. Out of all the Wine Bars I have been to, Wine Sensation is my go to spot. There's something about this place that draws you in. They are located in downtown Round Rock. They have their own parking space, outside patio area, Bocce Court, Horseshoe Court and dogs are welcomed (outside, unless it's a service dog). Did I mention that they have food items that you can order for the fur baby? I've been to quite a few events here, Game Night, regular Movie Night, Sing A Long Movie Night and Birthday Party. Staff here is super friendly, patient and helpful. Food is great for wine pairing. They have some beer for those of you not into wine crushing libations. This is a great place for groups and it's intimate for those who are on a date. They have a couple tvs for those of you who can't get away from sports.
