Because I am a huge fan of Parlor Doughnuts' cronuts, we had to stop and try theirs. It was good but didn't have the lamination layers. The star was the apple fritter! Let's start with the kountry boy kolache. They have venison and jalapeño-we opted for the jalapeño. They basically take this great smoked sauage and wrap it like a mummy in some buttery dough. You get a nice snap as you bite it. Not hot but really good. Smoked brisket, egg and cheese kolache. The smoked brisket was legit-suoer tender and nice touch of smoke with plenty of bark to complement the egg and cheese. Glad we split it because it was the size of a small burger. The donut sandwich. Oh my god. This is another level: They take a glazed donut, slice it in half and toast it. You get to fill with either bacon and egg, sausage and egg or ham and egg. The wife chose the sausage and egg. The sweetness of the glazed donut combined with the saltiness and spiciness of the sausage makes this sandwich! So good! It was our favorite breakfast item We capped this great breakfast with a cinnamon sugar twist. How ordinary right? WRONG! this was no ordinary cinnamon sugar twist. At most donut shops you get a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar. Here, they really define what cinnamon sugar is and how cinnamon sugar should be done. Every bite of that soft, warm fresh dough has plenty of cinnamon sugar. Imagine a giant, soft churro and that's what you get. Definitely a gem here in the Hill County. read more

This is our favorite donut shop. In addition to donuts, they have fruit & savory kolaches, biscuit's sandwiches, donut sandwiches and my personal favorite, the cronuts which are out of this world. My husband had the brisket kolache which did not disappoint. The food is fresh and they will fill donuts to order. They also gave donuts that are like art with Bert, Ernie and Cookie Monster. Expect to stand in line. The counter staff is slow but that's because they are friendly, take the time to know their customers and make sure you get what you want. read more

I first heard about this shop in Texas Eats. I took a drive from San Antonio to check it out. Let me just say: Wow, Wow, Wow. The donuts were exceptional. Arrived on Father's Day 2021 at about noon! Ordered two Donut Twists and one Bavarian Cream Filled "Donut"! OMG!! The Donut Twist was 9 3/4" long and in one word it was BIG! I'm used to HEB Grocery Donut Twists which I now classify as miniature. The Main Street Donut Twist was fluffy, slight icing and absolutely delicious! Cost $1.83 per huge Donut Twist! Very nice on the price! I was very impressed. Furthermore the two young ladies provided Outstanding Customer Service. When I get a teenager at a fast food restaurant it's usually one with an attitude. And not a good attitude! Not so here! As a past Culinary expert I value highly Customer Service. I've always said "if you have lousy food and great Customer Service, people will come back"! But if you have great Food and lousy Customer Service, people will never return. Well besides the fact that The owners are super sweet fun and awesome to get to know, this place is perfect for your breakfast/brunch needs! Even though I don't eat sugar, they've been kind enough to make me a egg cheese and sausage sandwich! But before I quit sugar and carbs, I loved the chocolate covered donut, it was perfect! I'm going to say it! Best fritter I have EVER had and I've tried one in almost 50 states. We happened upon this cute place on accident and pulled right over. Got there around 9 and all the donuts were almost gone but they had fresh fritters in the back. Hot and warm and when you bit into it, it dissolved in my mouth. A apple chunk in every bite! Of all the times passing through Blanco I'm not quite sure how I missed this gem. The brisket,egg & cheese kolache was delicious and very filling. The kolache was a bit doughy but the brisket slices were extremely tender. My eyes were bigger than my stomach as I also ordered the bacon egg & cheese croissant. Who doesn't love a good donut. I've had great donuts before but these are the best! I especially liked the maple and bacon donuts. The glazed donuts are so nice and fluffy. Nom! I came in while camping at the Blanco State Park down the street. It's a good place to forage for breakfast. They've got their donuts sorted into yeast and cake donuts. Their cake donuts are on the back wall. The yeasty ones are up front under glass. When I went, they had maybe a dozen different flavors- covered in oreos, breakfast cereal, different colors of frosting, sugar donuts- they had all the main flavors. Delish. They also sell coffee, with little coffee bar area at the entrance where you can get all the toppings. There were a few seats for people to sit inside. The donut shop is connected with a popular Mexican taco shop in the same building. It seems that they share a patio, but no furniture. The staff was really nice, and I had two people helping me with my donut purchases. They were happy to answer all my questions about their donuts. On the walls, it's like reading the classified ads- they have all kinds of want ads. Missing a dog, or need a BBQ grill? This seems to be the place in town to find out about it. if you want kolaches with dried out bread with the weenie also being dry then you should come here. The kolaches are a joke. There is no cheese, its in the weenie as Tim the owner said. The jalapeño kolache has basically no jalapeño, it's basically non existent. The coffee is disgusting. The most watered down coffee I've ever had. Iv'e had better coffee at a gas station. The donuts are mediocre. I really don't know how this place has five stars. The customer service was below par, I shared my experience with the owner not much to say other than that's how it's made and half a refund. read more

We were staying at the state park which is right next to this place. We decided to try it out based on other yelp reviews- we loved everything we tried! Hands down one of the best donut places we've been to in a long time! Our family tried the long john (which was huge!), apple fritter which wasn't super thin like some places and it had lots of flavor (again huge!), sausage kolache, boudin kolache (my husband said it was great), cereal topped donut, and old-fashioned donuts. BEST DONUT EVER! Happy accident finding this place. We were planning on eating at the Mexican restaurant next door, but they were closed for vacation. So we went to the donut shop. I had the boudin kolache.... More spicy than expected but really fresh and good. So these donuts... YUM. It was just a plain ol' glazed donut but it was larger than normal and it was warm.
