Station to get your pickles onions and different types of BBQ sauces
    Donald V.

I've wanted to try this place but a while as I've heard great things about it. My wife and I went to Blanco for a Valentines Day together in the rain. It was good. The Angus brisket was tender but they're Mac and cheese (not the BBQ Mac and cheese), was just normal. However, I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Of course the company as well!!

Pretty disappointed with this place. I was looking forward to trying it. Service was terrible from the start. The lady at the front counter seemed like she would rather be anywhere else than dealing with people. You could tell it was a spot for "locals" and people passing through got the step child treatment. Someone in my party ordered a chopped brisket sandwich and we were told there was a $1 fee for chopping the brisket. I have never heard of anything so outlandish before. Aside from the service, the food wasn't very good either. Make sure to have a fresh drink with you to wash down all of the dry meat they serve. Glad I finally got this place checked off of the Texas BBQ bucket list because it was the first and last time I will be there.

Been working out of this area for over 20 years and this is old reliable when the idea of bbq gets in my head. 300 does not cater to visitors so read the room order up put the phone away and enjoy every bite of superior bbq.

Humongous portions! Tender and delicious!! Sandwich piled high with sliced meat. Easily 2 servings, maybe 3. Potato equally as huge 2 meals. I enjoyed being able to make my own Arnold Palmer so I got the portions exactly how I wanted.

Fantastic BBQ in Blanco! Stopped in during our trip and had the best brisket sandwich I've ever eaten -- perfectly smoked with that true pit flavor. The sides were awesome too! My husband had the chopped brisket sandwich, which was just as delicious. Great food, friendly folks, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Blanco!

Event room tables decorated for a wedding rehearsal dinner

We used Old 300 BBQ for our wedding rehearsal dinner, and we seriously could not have been happier. They have a private event room that's separate from the main restaurant, and it was exactly the vibe we were going for--rustic, warm, and inviting. From the moment we started planning, Shelly (the event coordinator) and the rest of the team were incredible. They made sure every detail was taken care of, and their hospitality and service were top-notch throughout the night. Everything turned out beautiful, and the whole experience felt effortless thanks to them. And the food is absolutely amazing!! We were able to offer our guests four types of meat, four sides, and three dessert options, and everyone raved about how delicious it all was. I highly recommend the banana pudding! It turned out to be a truly spectacular night, and Old 300 BBQ played a huge part in making it perfect. If you're looking for a place to host an event in the area, we highly recommend them. And we'll definitely be back next time we're in town to grab a meal in the restaurant!

We visited this nice restaurant in the Summer and I never posted it. Our friends and taken us to a distillery nearby and we went for dinner. It happened to be right after Shelly Duvall passed. They say she used to visit often there as it was her home town. The bbq was unbelievably good!! Not really hard to guess as it has been around forever. I would say if you are in the Blanco area, please do yourself a favor, don't miss supporting this friendly spot and don't miss your opportunity to eat this great food. I would 100% recommend.

Crazy good food! I can see why it's so popular. The food comes out quick and is fresh!

After scrolling through dozens and dozens of reviews, it became apparent that this place is doing something right despite just three poor reviews that can be dismissed. I have to admit this place does have a country charm about it, and I was surprised there was only about a dozen tables inside and about the same outside. As soon as you enter, the order counter is right in front of you along with an iced down beer table with soft drinks, water, and beers. They do have a happy hour and daily specials. Once you place the order with a credit card , they'll flip the tip screen over with the tip percentages. Your receipt comes in the form of an email with the breakdown when you use your card. Whether you're dining in or get it to go, the sides come in plastic containers, including the blackberry cobbler which was smashed into a container beyond recognition. Unfortunately, the side of pinto beans were utterly flavorless and lifeless with nothing like brisket or peppers to add some life to them, avoid this item. The coleslaw was the typical mediocre offering I've had numerous times before, not bad, just tired of it. We got the brisket sandwich and it basically comes on a glorified toasted hotdog bun. As I started digging in to a sampling of some of their meats, I found the waygu brisket (which you pay extra for) to be dry with not much of a smoke ring and 20% fat. The brisket on the sandwich was a little more moist and fared better. However, the stars of the show were the St. Louis style ribs which were perfectly smoked, moist and large (no baby backs here). The smoked turkey breast is also something else we'd recommend because it was tender and juicy with just the right amount of smoke. Their sausage did have some decent spiciness and it was meaty, but a little on the dry side. Some things were really good, but not everything was which means no five stars from me, but a good acceptable 3 1/2 stars. If I could do it all over again, I'd purchase a rack of the ribs for $60 and a half pound of turkey which would have me slapping down 5 stars. A few photos included for more insight.

EVENT I was in town for a family reunion, in a party of 20 with a bunch of non-locals who were jacked for legit Texas BBQ. The place is loud -- if you're inside, don't expect to catch up with anyone but your immediate neighbors -- but spacious and inviting. We were prepped for an hour wait, but ended up going right in (Saturday at 3:00, before the rush that definitely did arrive). FOOD The bread was a little sweet, the coleslaw mostly savory, and both were fine. The beans and the potato salad were the lowest-rated in my group, but not awful. And the mac 'n' cheese was a big winner -- thick, smooth, delicious. But what of the main event? The sausage was divisive, but to me, thumbs-up. The pulled pork was solid. The brisket was dynamite -- not too spiced, not too lean, not too fatty, and altogether fall-apart fantastic. And my personal favorite, as well as that of several others at the table and recommended by a stuffed diner we passed in the parking lot, were the bison ribs. Sweet, smoky, tender as sin, and very much worth the trip. Goodness. Special mention for the house sauce (another clear highlight for my family) and the peach cobbler (soft top rather than crunchy raised some eyebrows, and it's very butter-forward -- but guilty-pleasure goooood). SERVICE And here's the reason for the review: the service was *exceptional.* Our server, Mason, went WAY above and beyond. He managed our battalion of screwball characters with aplomb, include two boomers ready to go to war over who got to take the check. He was readily available, but never hovering, and incredibly friendly. After chatting just a little about his own forays into smoking meat, it almost felt wrong to leave him behind at the end. He absolutely made our evening. Mason, if you're reading this: on behalf of my entire kooky family, here's to you, sir.

Blackberry Crumble (or some kind of Berry Crisp) had small amount of berries and I couldn't taste any berry flavor. We bought half a pan to go and ended up throwing most of it away. (IYKYK) Best BBQ in Texas is what I've heard and that's precisely what I experienced. Parking lots are nearby at a price ($28 for 2.5 hrs), unless you get lucky with street parking. Took us 30 min in the line, 10 min to order, and 1 hr to eat - plenty of time left on the parking meter which we prefer rather than cutting it close and getting a ticket. 2.5 hrs for parking felt rather safe for us, if you're wondering. Indoor and outdoor seating is available with plenty of tables. TVs inside for game days to indulge in 2 loves at the same time - food and sports. Ambience is warm, welcoming, and simply chill. Line up, be patient, and order to your liking. Ordering process - request for bread, ordered cold items first (potato salad), moved forward to order hot items (beans, Mac and cheese), grabbed a blueberry cobbler on the counter, and moved forward again to order precisely what we came for... the MEATS! Paid our dues, got fountain drinks, and found an open table to accommodate our party of 4. Open seating! TIP 1: They open at 11 AM, we got there at 3 PM, and they were out of beef ribs already. So keep that in mind if you're there specifically for that. TIP 2: They have 2 sauces from what I could tell - Original and Sweet Sauce. Sweet Sauce was my favorite, but just make sure both are on your table to try out. Live dangerously and mix them! Sooo good... THE TRINITY is what we ordered - or at least, that's what the server told us. The Trinity = Pork ribs, Brisket, and jalapeno cheese link. Omg... every single bite sent us to Heaven and back. Jalapeno cheese link was packed with jalapeno flavor and as if it was soaked in cheese yet didn't look like it. The brisket was the best I've EVER had - thick, juicy, savory, and now set the bar high for all future briskets. Pork ribs - 2 lbs and glazed. Oh man.. just thinking about it makes me depressed like a long lost distant relationship I know won't work out (we live in Nor Cal). Melted off the bone, juicy, smoked and cooked perfectly to... perfection. Slather your favorite BBQ sauces however you'd like and enjoy Nirvana throughout your time at Pinkerton's!
