We had a rehearsal dinner here and I can't recommend this place enough! Shelley and her staff were so helpful and accommodating during the entire set up and through take down. They went above and beyond! read more

We drove up from NB for the Lavender Fest & grabbed lunch here. THIS is amazing BBQ! Everything we had was delicious, perfectly smoked, tender meats. The BRISKET was outstanding. Got beans, creamed corn & potato salad sides and they were fabulous. Quick service- even during Lavender Fest wknd, and friendly staff! We were kind of hot after walking around, so chose to eat inside, instead of the front patio area. A/C in the main dining area, but no room in there, so went to the "Back 40" and there we found plenty of space, A/C & good music too! Family friendly & A+ food/service. We'll be back. read more

Attended the amazing Blanco Lavender Festival in June and wanted to grab breakfast before. Old 300 is across the street. Had a great egg and bacon breakfast taco at their food truck parked next to it. Sat in their fantastic front patio and watched the crowds stroll into the festival. We are going to come back for their delicious BBQ later today. read more

We love the brisket here and the fried okra is the best you will find in a BBQ restaurant. They play classic country in the the dining room which I love. But the very best thing about this restaurant is the friendly reception you get when you order from a sweetheart named Cami who always has a smile and such a great attitude! We always feel welcome here which we love! read more

This is the real deal and meat is the star of the show. Staff is super nice and helpful; I'm guessing a family run place because seemingly everyone has a desire to make things go well. Might be a dance hall at night but who cares with bbq like this. Forget about the overhyped salt lick, I'm going out to the country and leaving the city behind. read more

Coming here was a highlight of our day trip to Blanco. We arrived late in the afternoon so many of the menu items were sold out. However, I'm glad we got to try the brisket here. It's top-notch. I can't wait to visit again and come a little earlier in the day. read more

They say everything is bigger in Texas and oh my, they are so right! We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches and as it's Thursday, it's brisket tacos so 2 of those as well and hands down, one of best brisket I've had. Mind you, I could not even finish half of the sandwich. They were huge, flavorful, moist and thick cuts. You will not be disappointed. I'm such a tourist as I love the Texan decor, inside and out. After you order and pay, you can go to the room next door and get the condiments - bbq sauce, pickles, mayo, mustard and marinated onions. Add them to your sandwich, it's a full meal! We also ordered 2 banana bread. Not too sweet and 3 of us split one and it was perfect after a heavy meal. Great service. The cashier was great. Our order was finished shortly after we got the condiments. She didn't just called us from the counter but came out to an area in front of the cashier with a few chairs and handed it to us. We appreciate that. If I'm ever in the area, this will definitely be my stop. read more

Loved the food and atmosphere , The service was Great. And we went to the Lavander Festival

Great value for the enormous portions! Service was friendly. Food was cooked perfectly, it was delicious. Glad to find quality TX BBQ in Blanco. read more

This restaurant is decent but they often run out of food. At least 3 times I've been there and they only have turkey and sausages left, once they still had pulled pork. They really need to improve their ability to have their full menu available when open. read more

A long drive for us but had been some great bbq and was worth the trip. We had not been in 3 months and drove over today for lunch. What happened? The smoked turkey used to be best I ever had but not today, tasted and looked white and out of the oven taste, on a plain hamburger bun. The potato salad was good and sweet tea is great. Soft drinks are now $3 a can, no more fountain drinks. Most bbq places have jalapeños with condiments but not this one. The lunch was $14.99 for 1/4 lb turkey sandwich, tea and side. The special sandwiches seemed to be about DOUBLE in price now, think the el jefe was $34.99 for JUST the sandwich. Over $50 for lunch for 2 will no longer be worth our drive. I wondered where the long line and crowd were but maybe they already experienced the high price changes. read more

We came here after Texas Cannon made us leave because apparently I can't even carry my pug in to order a beer. So we walked over and the lady at 300 says right away that they love dogs and what rooms we could go in. The food here is so good. Cold beer and barbecue, great people working here. And the view of Blanco square is nice. read more

GO EARLY! I've been a few times now and always miss the bbq baked potato and a few other things. So obviously this place is poppin'. The brisket is so moist, just the right amount of fat on the edges that melt in your mouth. Mac n' cheese is creamy, not jam packed with flavor but still a good choice. The green beans are cooked with bacon, yum! All the fixin's are laid out for you to grab yourself, bbq sauce, pickles, onions, slices white bread, etc. The sauce was a little sweet for my liking and served cold which to me makes your meal cold but I personally like to let the brisket shine without sauce most of the time anyway so no biggie but something to keep in mind if you've never been here. There is patio seating that is dog friendly. They even had a few bowls of water out for your furry friends. read more

Old 300 BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Blanco, Texas

It is as expensive as San Antonio bbq places... and it is nowhere near as good as the average spots. And for it being the only place in town to get BBQ you'd think it would be better. If you are going to have Pinkerton prices you should have solid BBQ. Disappointing. Next time I'll try the bowling alley next door. read more

It was good being back in Texas and having texas BBQ! Old 300 is the real deal BBQ. The way it is meant to be. Pure Texas smoked meat with fantastic sauce. Our good friends had their rehearsal dinner here. It is a bit off the beaten path but if you're in the area it is a must stop. The venue itself is down home log and country. Parking is an issue so get here in plenty of time to hunt for a space. At the dinner they set it up buffet style with all of the choices... chicken, sausage, brisket, and pulled pork. Then there were sides of backed beans, potato salad and Mac n cheese. All of the meat was good... even for a mass buffet style... which usually mean lesser quality. This was not the case. The meat was juicy, tender and cooked well! The sausage was especially good! I was shocked at the quality when this much was cooked and served at once in a long wait line. I don't eat potato salad... but the beans were ok and the Mac n cheese was awesome! Super good... creamy, not overly fussy or made with 20 fancy cheeses, but elevated enough to stand out and be a star. There was a good selection of sauces too. I had the spicy bbq which I though was the bomb! The experience was top notch! Great food, good people and wonderful atmosphere. I would be happy to be able to come back and enjoy their BBQ again!! The event space had plenty of room, a nice bar and a dance floor and a stage. It turn out to be a wonderful location for the event! read more

Stopped by when we were passing through town. What a great BBQ spot. Cold beer, nice ambiance, and yummy BBQ. I got the stuffed baked potato and it was HUGE! Hubby got a local beer on tap and said it was quite tasty. The walk up service was a bit slower than expected since they were not busy but we were not in a rush so we were not bothered by it much. We will be back. read more

Omg....fries okra...sooooo good. Loves the angus brisket. Stopped here on the way back from San Antonio. Luckily we got here in time for the lunch special. 1 sandwhich, side, and drink for $15. Now a days that's cheap for food as good as this! Yum. read more

I recently posted a concern about Old 300 BQ. It was about being charged much more for a slab of brisket than the website showed. The Old 300 team responded immediately to my comments and offered me the credit towards food in the near future. I was not only impressed with their timely response but the amount of care I received from management. I rarely see customer service like this anymore and I can't tell you how much I appreciated their concerns. As I stated in my original post and still believe their meats are truly the best. Thank you Ladd for reaching out to me! See you soon. read more

Amazing bbq! I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket, Turkey & 1 sausage link. Sides- macaroni, cream corn & potato salad. The servings are very large! For 2 , expect to pay around $45/50 with drinks. The town isn't very diverse so just be prepared if you're a POC you may be the only few/minority. It's a friendly town and there's a plaza by the courthouse that has a market on weekends. Cute & yummy spot to visit for a day trip. read more

What a perfect place for some of the best bbq in Texas! I got the El Jefe.. which is Brisket and Jalapeño in a bun! No sauce... which trust me you don't need! And don't worry it wasn't dry at all- It was delicious! There is no way I could manage that whole thing.. it is totally shareable! The Mac n cheese was delicious very thick cheese! And of course I had to try the peach cobbler! Again another win! I honestly wish I could have ate all of it! Totally with the calories! I will be back! read more

Wow, I went to this Blanco barbecue place and I asked for a kids brisket sandwich and astonishing. I had to pay $10 for this small little tiny brisket sandwich that was just a mouthful. When you go to a small town and you want to explore it and try out new types of places in the food and the surrounding area you don't expect to pay $10 for a tiny little bitty sandwich. That's not even enough for a kid to consume. This place sucks even if a sandwich was bigger the brisket still sucks. I would hate to see you when I don't version of a brisket sandwich cost because it still would suck. Y'all Suck!!!! read more

This is the best Barbque in central Texas hands down. My wife and I ran across this gem a couple of years ago, and we keep coming back again and again. We would come up from San Antonio, now from New Braunfels. The brisket is juice and tender with great smoke flavor, turkey is the best we have ever had. Ribs are the most moist and flavorful you will ever find. Sides are sides hard to mess them up. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If you come during lunch in the week they are always busy, and the weekends are crazy. Prices are in line with Que now days it just is not cheap. Watch for the Bucket deal the 3 rd Sunday of the month, for a couple it is enough food for several meals. Great selection of cold beer. Is not fancy it is plain Darn Good. read more

Great smoke. The lunch crowd was light, but I went early, around 11:15am. Lunch was fabulous !!! I will definitely be back!

Driving from Fort Worth to San Antonio, I opted to skip I35 and take the more leisurely drive through the Hill Country, and boy, am I glad that I did. I was passing through Blanco around 1:00 pm and was craving BBQ. Old 300 was exactly what I was looking for. It serves the most delicious / most tender brisket that I've ever tasted. I hope my future travels have me commuting between DFW and San Antonio so that I can make a return visit! read more

We were served cold ribs today. When I told the staff, they were unconcerned. For the price of this food, it could be hot or even warm.

Day trip to Blanco! Can never go wrong with Texas BBQ so we were on it! There was a good amount of people flowing through on Easter Eve. We ordered the angus brisket, half chicken, potato salad, Mac n cheese, creamed corn and banana pudding. They also had a Wagyu brisket but we decided on angus. The brisket was moist and thick sliced! We loved it. The chicken fell short, was too dry. Loved all the sides! Potato salad was nicely made! We sat in the patio since the weather was nice. They have an extensive menu selection but since it was only two of us we didn't over do our ordering but that just means we'll go back to try the other meats! Really good spot! read more

First time trying it today and was originally excited for good BBq and looking forward to enjoying some good mac & cheese from a barbecue restaurant. However the Mac n cheese was terrible. It was served cold and with absolutely no flavor.. I threw the rest of it away. It is not difficult to make good macaroni and cheese.. even after adding salt and pepper to it it was just not edible. Shocking. The brisket we ordered was very fatty. It was barely edible. While I was in the restroom, they came by and threw away the rest of our brisket off the table that we were not done eating. It also didn't have much flavor. We had to add salt, pepper and bbq sauce to it. In my opinion, a really good brisket doesn't need barbecue sauce to be delicious.. it just adds to it if you want more flavor. All in all WOULD NOT go here again and pay their prices for mediocre food/service. Unfortunately Smokey Mo's food is better than this. read more

"Let's go to Blanco, Texas With Waylon and Willie and the boys..." The Yelp community comes through once again! Our day of touring the Texas hill country started in Austin and took us to Fredericksburg, then to Luckenbach where the hunger pains started in a big way. We "Yelped" BBQ restaurants near us and came across Old 300 in Blanco. On the money! Two of us had the impossible-to-finish, make-a-rabbit-hug-a-hound "Sam Houston" signature sandwich, a combination of mouthwatering Akaushi beef brisket, turkey, and jalapeño sausage. We ordered sides of cole slaw and fried okra. I don't mean to dis the pork loin sandwich my sister ordered, but I had so much meat in front of me that I passed on a bite of hers. Staff was friendly and the restaurant was spotless. read more
