My husband stopped by after being in the area and seeing a few facebook pages recommending this place. It's a food truck, and they have a few picnic tables off to the side that you can sit on. I do wish they were covered as it would make it a little nicer, but I'm not sure if they can control that beings that it's in a strip mall parking lot type situation. Regardless of that, food was PHENOMENAL 10/10 OH MY GOD! MOUTHWATERING BBQ! First of all... THAT POTATO SALAD WAS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I had the Turkey Texan taco, which was incredibly flavorful, perfectly smoked, and topped in a way that balanced freshness with that rich Hill Country BBQ depth. My companion ordered the brisket taco and couldn't stop talking about it -- tender, juicy, and packed with that melt-in-your-mouth quality you hope for but rarely get. I have got to say that this is my favorite incarnation of Kelly's BBQ. The owner/team have been in various locals/facilities/versions over the years and his mastery of the art of BBQ has reached a phenomenal height. I have to say that he/they have gotten to the excellent category. Not only that but what I love is the enthusiasm & customer focus of the crew when they serve you. I have been there several times and I am unashamed in saying I'm addicted to the Wimbo. Long ago I switched my BBQ sampling technique. I now go with whatever bbq mixed sandwich and I'm able to sample everything a place has without going into a food coma. The Wimbo is a GINORMOUS mix of brisket and sausage with their sauce. What else can I want? Or better, what else can I consume?? It is a lot of food and I've already raved at how good it is. Pro-Tip: The parking gets wonky as everyone tries to dive into the first spot. Definitely legit Texas bbq! I've been to several of the top bbq places in Texas so I had to try this place as I saw it was on a top 50 in Texas website. It definitely did not disappoint! The pulled pork was possibly the best I have ever had. The turkey and brisket were great, but I've had better at other top bbq places. They were out of ribs when I went so I didn't get to try those. My friends have been talking about Kelly's for a few weeks so we finally checked it out Saturday. We placed it ahead of time (phone) knowing it was a holiday weekend. Everything was really good. Brisket was my personal fave even though it was very seasoned and almost too salty for my fiance. The sprouts and andouille sausage were also tasty as was the turkey and ribs. This is a food truck. We went one hour before it closed. Like any other barbecue place, they run out of food. I wasn't as hungry and ordered only two sides, but my friends ordered the different meats available. I am not sure if my friends are picky, or if they were just tired and grumpy, but they didn't really think the food was outstanding. They feel like the meat could have been from a grocery store barbecue place. They did like the barbecue sauce. I had the brussels sprouts with bacon. The side items were a good size for a personal size order. The brussels sprouts was delicious. The Potato salad was OK. Maybe I just don't like the smoky flavor. I know there was a mishap with our order, but it got cleared up pretty quick. The staff was friendly. They sell bottled drinks. Kelly's is without a doubt the absolute BEST BBQ Available in Wimberley! Now, don't get me wrong, you will not go wrong with either of our great BBQ choices here, however (as with many dining choices here) trying to find them open may be a challenge, as both have very limited hours (some of this is related to the nature of making BBQ). For both, that means it's best to check to make sure you're going on a day they're open, and for Kelly's- it's best to get there between 11am and 1pm... after that, well - they may start running out of this or that. And, if you want some of their absolutely great pork belly (think thick BBQ bacon candy), that's pretty much just a Friday, Saturday thing & they often sell out quickly (in my experience; however.... if you're not of cholesterol medication, yes, you should try it! though you might have to apologize to your cardiologist). I've had BBQ from several places on the Texas Monthly Top50 list, and in my humble opinion- Kelly's absolute beats several of them, but it's probably just their size which is keeping them from getting a visit; however- it shouldn't keep you from visiting, and you can tell them in person what your vote would be. read more

This is my favorite BBQ in Texas & I've driven to most of them. The service is always pleasant and timely. They appreciate cash and I love to give a generous tip. I've learned to call my order in just after 11:00 and my order is ready when I get there. Not a huge line at 11:30. There are picnic tables in the shade but I buy more than I can eat so I take it home. My absolute favorite is the Pork Belly only available on Friday and Saturday. It's total meat candy. Reheats beautifully in the air fryer. It's my indulgence treat for the weekend. My husband likes the Chango Tacos. All food is beautiful and tastes divine. The staff are friendly and efficient. Brisket & chopped beef sandwich are always very good. Availability of some items is kind of "hit or miss", depending on time of day. I do miss the former "brick & mortar" location. Stopped here for lunch during the week. Good grub! Typical pricing for bbq these days, so not cheap but good enough to pass the test. Had the potato salad (good but not outstanding) and apple pecan coleslaw (very yum) ; picked the sliced brisket and it was on point! Had a small portion of the jalapeño cheddar sausage and it was good but nothing really to brag about (did have a nice kick). Truck park is clean and shaded so that's a plus as well. The absolute best BBQ! Let me tell you about the spare ribs (special Sat only)- falling off the bone and so juicy and smokey. The sauce/rub on the ribs was perfect with a bit of sweetness. It is too bad that they no longer have the sit down restaurant and have only the trailer. They are much better than either Pig Pen BBQ or Railroad BBQ in Dripping Springs and it is well worth the drive from Dripping Springs to Wimberley. Was in Wimberley for a wedding. It was my first time in Texas, and was eager to try as much BBQ as possible. The first day we drove past unaware this place existed. It was closed. The day of the wedding (Saturday) I saw that it was open. I sped into the parking lot, for what was the best BBQ experience I've had. We ordered food from Kelly's BBQ this past weekend to celebrate my mom's 91st birthday - because she LOVES BBQ! This was our first time to order from Kelly's but sure won't be our last. Wonderful food! We ordered brisket, smoked turkey, pulled pork, and sausage - all beautifully cooked - tender and tasty! We also got potato salad, apple pecan cole slaw (esp yum!), mac n cheese, beans. These sides were awesome! We pretty much sampled everything on the menu and loved it all.
