Gave it a second try, and my first experience was definitely due to them being SLAMMED! So happy to say this go round my food was great, coffee was wonderful, staff was so sweet... a solid 5. I adore this coffee shop. We drive through Blanco often, and now we have to stop every time. The coffee, pastries, sandwiches, all so good. Recently it was very cold and we got to hang out by the fireplace. I highly recommend the croissant/cookie. read more

Cute little coffee spot here in Blanco has great ambience from the buffalo head on the wall to the cute little bathroom with a poop smell vent heading outside. The service was prompt since I got here ahead of the rest of town and I'm loving the coffee it is so good the chocolate and strawberry blends well together and it's a perfect amount of sweet. Looks like an old frontier house converted into a coffee shop and real estate office. Got a great view of the hill and it looks like a park down there old school architecture. This thing probably lasted 100 years wooden patio area with some decent chairs and great coffee. read more

Crème brûlée latte: tasty but not a unique flavor. Just tasted like caramel and vanilla. Which is funny because my husband said his Sugar Cookie tastes just like vanilla and caramel. It would be funny if all they had behind the counter is a bottle of vanilla and caramel and that's all they use but label the drinks differently. Service: meh. We ordered our lattes and after I paid they said they were out of sugar cookie but after we asked for refund for drink they were out of they said they could make the syrup it but would be a few minutes. Not sure exactly what was "made." Inside is small or cozy, however you want to frame it. Hard not to be in each other's conversations. No secrets here. Seemed clean and didn't try food options. Overall would give another shot. 3.5 stars but Yelp doesn't do 0.5. read more

06 Jan 2024 Oh, the smell of freshly brewed coffee upon entering! And they have an array of pastries in the display case on your left as you enter. To the right are comfy-looking chairs and small sofas. People had parked it and were enjoying themselves. I was there to snag some pastries to take home. I chose to buy two of the cinnamon streusel small cakes. About $3.50 a slice. Not bad. The young man who rang up the purchase asked where we were from, why are we in town. Nice and friendly. ' Young man'. Damn, I sound old! Anyway, I'm home and ate one of the slices. So fresh and tasty. You know, with the cinnamon crumbles on top. Go there when in Blanco. read more

This location is beautifully curated and decorated. It has classically confortable casual seating inside and out. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is a problem. Often customers vehicles stick so far into the street that they impede traffic. Twice I had hot chocolate. Both times times I watched the clerk make it with one package of Swiss Miss powdered chocolate mix. Both times the chocolate mix was so poorly mixed that at there was a large portion of chocolate powder at the bottom of the cup. It basically tasted like lukewarm water. The coffee is mediocre at best. Their grilled cheese is fantastic but significantly overpriced. read more

Set off the street in a small unassuming old house is a wonderful must stop place if you want a quick breakfast or coffee. Super friendly and fast service. I really enjoyed how they worked around the old house instead of gutting it. There is nothing like old real wood floors. My americano with cream came quickly and was not bitter or too acidic so i didn't feel like i needed any sweetener. read more

I'd definitely come back because the quality of the gelato was excellent. The only area that could use some improvement was the customer service flow. When we walked in, there was one employee working, a customer with three young children who was taking quite a while deciding on flavors, and another customer who appeared to be waiting to pay. I don't know how long he had already been waiting, but by the time he finally paid, he had nearly finished eating his gelato. While the family was still deciding, the customer herself kindly told us to go ahead and place our order so she wouldn't keep holding us up. We appreciated that gesture and stepped up to order. I ordered chocolate and stracciatella. When I asked for chocolate, the employee asked if I was sure and whether I'd had it before. She did offer me a sample, which was thoughtful, but it caught me off guard since I wasn't expecting to have to justify my flavor choice. I also asked if they had cones, and she said they didn't. She then asked what size cup I wanted. I replied that I'd like one scoop of each flavor, not realizing the scoop count and cup size were separate choices. It took a couple of exchanges before I understood what she meant. A little more explanation upfront would have made the ordering process much smoother. After our gelato was prepared, I expected we'd be able to pay and move on. Instead, the employee immediately went back to helping the family continue sampling and deciding on flavors before ringing us up. By the time we were finally able to pay, my husband had almost finished eating his gelato. The employee was genuinely friendly and patient, especially with the family, and I understand it's not easy managing everything alone. I just think some additional training on balancing multiple customers--such as quickly checking out customers whose orders are already complete before returning to someone who is still deciding--would make the experience much smoother for everyone. Overall, the gelato was delicious, the shop was clean, and I'd happily come back. I just hope the service flow improves because the product itself is definitely worth the visit.

I'd earmarked Old 300 as the place in Blanco, to go up against the others. We arrived on a Monday about 1:20p. After lunch hour, and the place was packed. (that's an indicator right there. One of the slowest days for restaurants during the week, and not at peak meal time.) The line went quick. They have what's listed as a "BBQ Sandwich" - it's a blend of chopped brisket and chopped pulled pork (not in long, stringy strands) together. We were going to hit other towns & sandwiches, so for the two of us we just ordered one sandwich and a side of potato salad. We got it to-go. Sat at an empty table. Got ourselves fixins - some doctored up onions (sliced, seems like they sauté them a little in butter and then top w fresh cracked black pepper), pickles, and both their Sweet and their Spicy sauces. They brought it out quickly, less than 5 min. We opted to just eat it there instead of take it to the next town. We topped with pickles, onions, and the Sweet sauce. Oh my freakin' sweet Lord! In this small Texas town with an unassuming spot a block and a half off the main road going through town, easily one of the top 5 bbq sandwiches of all time - no joke! To break it down, we tasted all items individually. The onions are delectable - softened from the sauté, good moisture from the butter, delicious. The Sweet sauce is crazy good. A fantastic balance of sweet, tang, & slight bite. I've never said this before but it's true - told my daughter, "I could just sit here and dip these pickles in this sauce for the next 30 minutes and be completely satisfied." The sauce, yes, is that good. Daughter is not a heat/spice lover, but she did try the Spicy sauce and we both thought it was definitely tame as far as heat goes. We both thought the Spicy sauce was okay. The Sweet sauce, though, stellar! We were overwhelmed by how good it all was. When we got to the car, I said, "All the ingredients together was like a symphony." Next time I visit her, am absolutely gonna suggest another drive out to Blanco specifically, to try some other items on the menu. But I can say this, for the BBQ Sandwich, pickles, doctored onions, and Sweet sauce alone, Old 300 is worth a generous drive and you will 100 percent be happy as a lark. Originally part of the Circle H ranch, it is a great local spot with a laid-back vibe, perfect for those seeking authentic Hill Country charm. Owned by Kara Cleaver, who developed an interest in wines during her 30s and eventually decided to embark on this new adventure, the winery has been open since 2021. Kara has collaborated with experienced winemakers to craft her exceptional wines, each themed around the unique stories of the land from which they originated. The winery places a strong emphasis on sustainable practices, from grape growing to winemaking, and remains actively involved in local Blanco community events. The tasting room has a cozy feel inside and is built from repurposed and recycled materials, not to mention (again) the great views one can enjoy from the hilltop vantage point. There is a patio on the back and side of the space and ample outdoor seating with tables for folks to enjoy. There are several wines to select from on the menu. So, no matter what your fancy is, there is probably something on the menu you can find that suits you. For this visit, six of the wines were sampled. The first was the 2023 Trebbiano. This lovely white wine is light bodied with notes of stone fruit and lemon zest making this white wine very appealing on a hot summer day. Next was the 2021 Albariño. This full-bodied white wine sourced from the Texas High Plains AVA has citrus on the nose followed by a fair amount of minerality and good acidity. For the Rosé wine, the 2023 Ranch Road stood out as a light bodied and fruit forward wine with a light ruby red color. It is a blend of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris, sourced from Reddy Vineyards. Moving on to the reds, the 2023 Circle H was sampled. This red field blend from Reddy Vineyards circle field plot has a mix of just about everything. It is medium bodied with notes of blackberries, tobacco, leather and a touch of smoke. The next red wine sampled was the 2023 Petit Verdot. It has a lot of dark fruit going for this full-bodied beast and some firm tannins that grab your attention. Lastly, the 2023 Barrel Racer was sipped. This port style wine was aged in Garrison Brother's used whiskey barrels. Made with Syrah, it expresses some good notes of tobacco, cherries and chocolate all in one sip! It is a definitive sipper that is worth enjoying after your meal, or with dessert or cheese. The tasting room also has a kitchen in case you get the munchies. Live music from local musicians helps complement the cool laid-back vibe of this place along with your favorite glass of wine. The staff are very personable, welcoming and attentive. They want to ensure you feel right at home. Kara's new adventure is proof that life changes can be successful. Cheers!
