We decided to stop by Wimberley on the way from Austin to San Marcos to visit the shops and decided on this place because of the many positive reviews. We got the cedar hacker pizza and the crab cake which were both excellent. The crab cake was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside and filling had some peppers which gave the cake an extra kick. The sauce and slaw paired perfectly with the cake and our favorite dish there. The cedar hacker pizza was more authentic than we expected with cheese on top of the toppings with a thin margherita style crust. The staff were laidback and welcoming, and service was great! The ambiance inside was artsy and outside was like a woodland retreat with the outdoor patio. All in all, we were blown away by how good of an experience this was for the price. read more

Extremely consistent, great food for an extremely reasonable price it is without a doubt one of the best values in Central TX. The pretzel sticks are perfectly seasoned and come out hot and delicious everytime. We're not crab cake people, but LP's crab cake is AMAZING perfectly cooked with tons of real crab and amazing southwest favor with corn and peppers. Cocktails are also amazing. My husband and I decided to go to The Leaning Pear for lunch. We drove to Wimberly and arrived at the restaurant. The parking lot appeared full but luckily we found parking near the restaurant. As we walked in we saw the hostess stand and waited a few minutes. We were eventually greeted by a nice woman that asked us where we wanted to sit. The restaurant has inside and outside seating. We told her outside and she took us to our seats. The outside is nice and shaded with several places to sit. There is a view of the trees. After being seated we waited for a few minutes then we were greeted by a friendly waitress. She gave us our menus and explained how to use the QR code to see the menu on our phones. She then asked us what we wanted to drink and left to give us time to decide on what we wanted. She returned after a few minutes and took our order. I asked for her opinion on the pizzas and she let me know her thoughts. She did an excellent job throughout the meal. She checked in on us frequently and refilled our waters often. We decided to share the Wood Fired Esquites. It comes with street corn, mozzarella, queso, cilantro and tortilla chips. This was delicious and addicting. The corn was sweet and the other ingredients added flavor. My husband ordered the Corn Beefed Reuben. It comes with brisket, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese. I tried it and it was a little too sour for me but my husband loved it. I ordered a Fried Chicken sandwich that came with cheddar cheese, a purple cabbage slaw, and a crema sauce. The sandwich was really good. The chicken was thick, tender and moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The crema gave the sandwich a little bit of flavor while the cheddar cheese eventually melted into the cabbage. The combined ingredients gave the sandwich a nice blend of texture and flavor. We also decided to share the Cedar Hacker Pizza which comes with capicola, onions, olives, mozzarella cheese, and provolone cheese. The pizza was really good. The main crust was soft and kind of floppy but the outer portion of the crust was light and airy. I don't usually eat capicola but it was tasty. The onions and olives added flavor and the cheese was gooey. A nice combination of ingredients. My husband wanted to share a dessert to finish off this awesome meal. So we decided to try the Lemon Panna Cotta. It comes with blueberry compote. This dessert was amazing. It was light and milky and the blueberry compote was tasty. I went with a few girlfriends, and we were lucky to get a beautiful day to sit out on the patio--it's super cute and has a really relaxed vibe. The service was amazing, and parking was easy, which I always appreciate. I ordered the migas (without chorizo), and they were happy to accommodate my request, which I loved. I also shared a cup of soup with a friend, and it was delicious. For drinks, I had the Oh My Gord Pumpkin Mule, and it was very festive and definitely worth trying if it's on the menu. After brunch, we were able to walk around to a bunch of cute nearby shops, which made the day even better. Had a pretty solid brunch at The Leaning Pear on a Sunday early afternoon. The Sunday Sausage Sando was surpisingly filling and really tasty. The home fries it came with weren't my favorite (a bit too greasy and not crispy imo) but overall a decent meal! My friend was intrigued by the Meatloaf Hash (never would have thought to make a breakfast meal out of meatloaf) and enjoyed it as well. We got the cookies and cream dessert to wrap up our meal. The three cookies it came with weren't all excellent. Service was fairly good, but being a Sunday during brunch hour, our waiter was a bit occupied with other tables and it took some time to get our food as well as our water topped off. Additionally, it would have been more convenient to be able to make a reservation, but unfortunately that was not an option available. We ended up waiting over 45 minutes for a table indoors. My friends and I are in Wimberley on a girls trip, and we arrived around 1:30 pm on a Friday. The restaurant is extremely cute and airy, and there are A LOT of gluten-free options. I had the pepperoni pizza on GF crust (not pictured) and a blackberry mule (it's whiskey based). One of my friends got the macaroni skillet and described it as "sinfully wonderful." Other friends got sandwich options or a salad, and we had zero complaints about our food! Everything was wonderful. We stopped by this weekend for some early dinner and drinks with friends. Nice place but a bit rowdy outside with lots of unsupervised kids running around. Servers were nice and seemed to be hustling so they were likely understaffed as service was a bit slow. To drink, the girls had the pink frozen gin drinks and I had the mangonada. Both were pretty delicious but the mangonadas take awhile to to be served so be prepared. I was originally going to get a craft beer but the selection was pretty limited. To eat, we shared the pretzels and the sprouts. The pretzels were decent but the sprouts stood out for me, which is a bit surprising based on my normal preferences. To eat, we shared a 1/2 rueben, 1/2 pimento cheese (its cool they let you do 1/2s), and a small house salad. The Wood Fire Esquites (corn) was a nice appetizer to share with the family. I came with a good amount of tortilla chips. I had the Chicken and Grits, and I don't know when I had a chicken that moist with delicious cheesy grits. The skin was perfectly crispy and seasoned, without drying out the rest of the chicken. My younger kids shared a cheese pizza, which was a good size for them. My oldest kid had the Salad Trio with a scoop of tuna salad, which she enjoyed. They sat us on the shaded patio, which was very pleasant with fans despite the heat (wasn't very humid that day). We could hear live music being played nearby as a soundtrack to our meal. The food choices were plenty and a nice mix of classic flavors and more unique takes. I decided on the chicken and waffles, husband got the reuben. Both were delicious. The chicken and waffle was such an interesting blend of flavors that I kept eating just to experience it. Savory and sweet, but also nuanced. Kids got a pimiento sandwich and grilled cheese and love them. Service was split between two servers for the patio. Probably would have been better if they each divided up tables, but we were never left waiting too long. The only complaint I had was that we were told there was a wait for indoor seating when we arrived, but the inside remained mostly empty the entire time we were there, and no tables prepped for large parties or anything. My husband n sisinlaw both had the fried chicken sandwhich with standard chips from a bag. I'm not sure what the total meal cost, my bro paid but none of us walked away completely full. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. All the food were delicious. My highlights were the beets/watercress salad. It was fresh sweet, sour and crispy. It's got great texture. My favorite salad. The side hummus mushroom with pita was so addictive. It was garlicky and the mushroom gave umami. Than the desert. The lemon blueberry panna cotta was smooth and not too sweet. The cookies for the cookies and cream came warm!!!! The pizzas were charcoal oven cooked. They were all good. Crispy crust. If u like cheese get the queso with spinach dip. Very creamy and delicious. Service was good. Our server was very nice. We went in February and it was a cold night, but if the weather was nicely in the warmer weather, I can see this place being a very crowded place. Plus...when I order a chicken sandwich I assume it's a chicken breast, not tenders. With tenders the sandwich is a big goopy fall apart mess. I am disappointed with this restaurant to say the least. If you have eaten at restaurants in Dallas, Austin or Houston you will likely be very disappointed by the quality of food, the lackluster service and the odd and disjointed/non-cohesive menu. The food was very overpriced for what it was. What I ordered: UNCLE ART PIZZA (17.5): artichoke + spinach + roasted garlic cream + parsley + prosciutto americano. There is simply no better word than mid to describe this food. Not so bad that it was inedible but definitely not good or note-worthy. Sandwiches came with a side of lays potato chips (not homemade) that we watched the servers pour onto the plates from the commercial sized bag you can buy at Sam's Club. We asked if there was a possibility of substituting for fries (even for an upcharge) but they said they only have fries on thursdays to go with the burger that is only available on Thursdays. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing - I would understand if the kitchen just didn't have a fryer all together then of course fries wouldn't be an option, but just only offering them one day a week is kind of ridiculous to me. Service - my glass of water remained empty for quite a while (and was never refilled I might add) and no carafe of water was provided to self refill. It's the little things ya know. We got a hill country Cobb - absolutely delicious and wouldn't make any changes! Super fresh and filling. Also got a half reuben and a BLT. The pretzel was was good but they are pretty stingy with the beer cheese. The wedge salad was basic but good. My veg curry was ok - didn't really seem like they seasoned it bc the curry broth tasted super strongly of coconut. Don't get me wrong, I make curry at home and I also use coconut milk but I season it heavily so it doesn't taste super sweet like 100% coconut flavor. Doesn't seem like they did that here. I'm so glad I discovered this gem! My husband took me too Wimberley to thrift shop and of course grab some lunch. The Leaning Pear is modern meets rustic with a simple but fancy menu. One of the locals recommended the chicken salad trio, said it was her favorite, and we now know why! Generous portions, full of flavor, and lots of texture! I know it sounds crazy but even though it was over 100 degrees outside we tried the mushroom soup. So yummy! Mild mushroom flavor, hearty, and comforting. My husband got the a mozzarella and basil sandwich and added a grilled chicken breast. Simple yet nice. It came on fresh baked focaccia. I got the pizza with garlic, prosciutto, olives, and red onions. It was freaking delicious! I ate all but 2 slices! Our waitress or really sweet and she helped us decide by sharing what some of the popular items in the menu were. Everyone was great, from the minute you walk in they were all very inviting. It is a beautiful setting with a playground for kids, nice outdoor eating area and even an outdoor screened in area to eat outdoors but none of the outside creatures. Walked into this place and it is decorated so nicely. A beautiful really cool vibe look. Fun things on the wall. Bathrooms very nice. My daughter in law had the spicy pineapple sangria and it was so delish! We also ordered the pretzels with the hot mustard and a pimento cheese dip. Both were very good. My son had the fried Chicken Clucker. My husband and I tried the Ruben and both were really good too. I also got the potato salad side and it was sooooo good. But my favorite was the blueberry Panne Cotta dessert! My son and I shared that but I could have eaten the whole thing. It was the best Panne Cotta I have ever had. After lunch the kids enjoyed the playground area. A little climbing area and tree swings just made the whole experience that much better. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was just so comfortable. Had it not been so cold we would have eaten outside. The view is just so pretty and the grounds are so peaceful.
