Potato skins

This restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its great view of a park and creek. The outdoor area next to the creek is a great spot for families, complete with a good-sized playset for kids. It was a little windy today so we sat indoors by the widow where we enjoyed a fantastic view of the creek. Service is friendly and helpful but quite slooooooow. The food is very basic. The potato skins were fairly good but they were completely burnt on the ends. The fish in the fish sandwich had a rubbery texture and an overpowering fishy smell. The dish came with only one side and the Caprese salad was devoid of olive oil, making it quite plain. While I recommend visiting Chill's On the Creek and enjoying the view from the windows or outside, I wouldn't recommend it for those seeking quality or exceptionally delicious food.

Visited this restaurant while on a quick weekend trip to Wimberly. What attracted us to this location was the playground behind the restaurant. It was a great place for our two kids (4&6) to play while waiting for a table. The food was pretty good. We all devoured the chips, salsa, queso, and pretzel. I learned a little too late that they provide free chip refills. Unfortunately they did not have the pickle fries otherwise I'd have tried that. Maybe next time! I ordered the catfish po boy. It was decent overall but I added some of the pretzel mustards to give it a bit flavor kick. My kids enjoyed their meals (pancake and grilled cheese) and cleaned their plates off. It's worth stopping by in you are in the area.

We came here on Sunday evening for dinner were greeted immediately, then once we got sat we never were acknowledged by a waitress . They were not busy with only a few tables seated in and out. We decided to move to the bar and Emily helped us immediately. She was very attentive and super friendly. I got the mahi tacos which were very good, with a side of green beans (very plentiful) and mash potatoes (very small portion) I forgot to take a pic. My friend got the fried fish with French fries. Fish was pretty good, but the fries portion was extremely small as you can see pictured. We have been a here a few times but just felt the need to write about my last experience. Definitely will be back just hope they can make minor adjustments to side portion size and let waitresses know to acknowledge their tables in a reasonable time. Oh and Chase the owner was super friendly

Really cute place to grab lunch. Definitely recommend to sit outside for the view of the creek and cool vibes. Lots to choose from on the menu. Docked a star because they bought me the wrong sandwich (no biggie because it was yummy).

Had to take a trip to Wimberley and we found ourselves in its quaint downtown area for lunch. A variety of local shops, all lined with festival decor. There's even a Festival of Lights they host here. Nestled along a river, in symbiosis with its surroundings is Chills on the Creek. Aptly named, this small restaurant describes itself as comfort food, but the menu is highly influenced by Louisiana cuisine. Just off the main thoroughfare, you'll see an arch way that leads you down a stone path. Past a rustic suit of armor you'll find a small cafe with outdoor seating to enjoy the fresh air and forestry. We opted for the outdoor experience. While they offer a variety of southern comfort foods, we decided to give the smoke brisket tacos a try. My son had their beast burger, while the Bean tried the smoked cheese steak. Everything was delicious and savory. They have crafts and custom cocktails but we played it safe and had their strawberry lemonade. I encourage a day trip and just walk the beat. Try the different eateries and checkout all the wonderful shops. We'll be going back!!

Chills on the Creek - A Must-Stop in Wimberley! We found Chills on the Creek during our anniversary trip to Wimberley and instantly fell in love with the place. I had the best hamburger I've ever eaten, and my husband ordered the chicken fried ribeye -- both were absolutely delicious! Our server, Keira, was such a sweetheart and gave us amazing service. We sat outside on the patio, listened to great music, and enjoyed the beautiful view of the grounds. The whole experience was relaxing, fun, and full of that perfect Hill Country charm. We'll definitely be back soon!

This is my first time returning to Chills since the renovation. They've made the bar smaller for a larger inside seating area, and new bathrooms. It's very cute and there's ample seating inside and outside now. The staff is all very friendly and accommodating. We had some pineapple mimosas and some breakfast items. I really enjoyed the southwest eggs Benedict, which is served on tortillas with delicious pulled pork and Cajun seasoning. My friend had the pancakes and we shared the chicken and waffles. I wasn't as impressed with these items, but they were still good. Chills is conveniently located on wimberley Square in front of the creek. It's a beautiful spot to meet up and enjoy drinks or a meal.

We're visiting and everything was great except our main food took an hour to arrive. The area is nice with different levels of outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed. Our waitress was great. She brought out our appetizer, pickle fries, quickly. It was pretty good. Then we waited an hour for our beef pepper steak, crawfish etouffee, and fried shrimp to come. All of their food was delicious. They have heaters and turned it on for us after we requested it.

Ask the Community - Chill's on the Creek

Is it possible to have a rehearsal dinner here?

I would say yes but it'll be on the patio. There was a wedding party of 14 on the patio when my son and I dined there.

I ordered the Tuesday special: pancakes with two eggs cooked over easy, plus a side of sourdough toast. My wife went with the biscuits and gravy. When my plate arrived, one of the egg yolks was already broken--not ideal--but I wasn't about to let that ruin breakfast. After all, I was planning to break them anyway. The toast was clearly meant for yolk-dipping (something I've done since I was a kid), though it arrived unbuttered, which slowed things down a bit. And with pancakes this large, I had to unwrap several pats of butter to get them properly dressed. That said, the pancakes were the real winner--fluffy, delicious, and generously sized. Bonus points for serving them with warmed maple syrup, which always makes a difference. My wife wasn't as happy with her biscuits and gravy and wished she had chosen something with more protein. I'm not usually a biscuit person either, which is why I tend to avoid them--but I always give them a fair try. The biscuits weren't my thing, but the gravy was quite good, with a subtle hint of heat that added some personality. Service was a mixed bag. Our waitress wasn't particularly friendly. I understand it was early, but service does matter. I generally start at a 20% tip and adjust up or down depending on the experience. This landed somewhere between 15% and 20%, which felt fair. Overall, the cafe was nicely decorated for Christmas and had a warm, nostalgic diner vibe. If we find ourselves back in Wimberley with breakfast on the agenda, this is a place I'd gladly consider again.

We were greeted by a friendly hostess that put our name on the list. We waited about 10 minutes and then they called our name. They seated us outside in a shaded area. It was really nice. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the atmosphere. After waiting a few minutes our waitress came over and greeted us. She was very friendly and took care of us throughout our visit. She gave us menus and took our drink order. When she brought us our waters she took our order. To start we shared some onion rings and nachos. The onion rings were delicious. The interior onion was sweet and the exterior batter was crispy. The nachos were tasty. The chips were thick and able to hold all of the ingredients and the chicken tinga was flavorful. For our main meal my son ordered the pepperoni pizza and loved it. My husband ordered the Fried Catfish Lunch. He enjoyed it and said the catfish was soft with a crispy, and light breaded exterior. He said that the hush puppies and fries were fine. I ordered the Meat Pizza which comes with Pepperoni, Ham, Bacon, and Sausage. The pizza was yummy. I could definitely taste the pepperoni and sausage flavor and the ham was spread out in large chunks. The crust was light and airy. Overall Hays City Store was a great place to visit for lunch. The outdoor atmosphere was great. The service was really good, and the food was tasty.

I can say the ambiance is wonderful. It is a beautiful place. Our previous attending and food choices/selections were fantastic. In preparation for, since two had not been there, I pointed them to the online menu. First mistake, the menu is old and requires update. I think if I had known that I would not have made Tilley's an option. The prices of everything were pretty high. And based on the food we selected, most was not worth the cost. One order included Short Rib Pasta with a thin pasta as tagliolini. Instead, I receive a pulled pork with a very thick pasta. I did not care for it. I like thin pasta. Pictures display what was provided and a typical Northern Italy dish of tagliolini. Because I am not certain of the plate names, I can only comment as to what our group had to say. And of course, the menu online is still not up to date. Steak Frites. The steak was a little tough and cold. It did not really have a real flavor. It was accompanied by fries that were not tasty at all. Thank God for ketchup. House made Focaccia, as an appetizer, was a good size that could be shared among the 4 of us. Make sure to ask for extra butter because they only provide a small container. As big as it is and 4 adults, you would think they would automatically provide enough butter for each. The night was so busy that when we finally did ask and got it, the bread was already cold. The lemon brick chicken was another favorite dish in our group. It was tasty. The best dish was the fish (cod). It was superb, since we were disappointed in our own meals, we were fortunate the birthday girl shared with us. The fish was cooked excellent. Let me summarize by saying that based on prices, staff, and time for food to come to us, it wasn't worth it. I think a better choice would have been Trattoria Lisina in Driftwood where you don't have to pay for the bread and staff is always there to take care of you and get the food to you in a more expeditious fashion. Fortunately, Tilley's is beautiful therefore the surroundings make time go by a little quicker. I did send a similar note to Tilley's, but they did not respond.

The chips were thick and able to hold the ingredients. They had a little too much pico but all of the combined ingredients were good. We also shared creamed corn and spinach. This was delicious. The corn had pieces of cobbed corn and spinach spread throughout. This is one of my favorite creamed corn because of the taste and texture.
