Bruschetta was delicious. It was four two bite pieces.

It was a hot day on a Saturday, around 1pm. Some of us were hangry and some of us weren't. We didn't want diner type food at the restaurant next door, so we came to this place. It wasn't terribly busy and got a table right away. The inside was a rustic cabin feel, and it had A/C! From looking at the menu, you can tell this food was a lot more refined than next door. Each of our meals were yummy. The bruschetta was delicious. The tomato soup and salad I had was refreshing and delicious. Every person in the family enjoyed their food, even the hangry one. I must say, it took a while for our food to come out. I don't know if they were understaff or not (or it's the speed of Wimberley), but I did noticed some tables waited a while to even order or get a glass of water. What we order wasn't terribly complicated. I was just glad it tasted very good.

We were originally thinking of eating at the Leaning Pear but it was closed on Mondays... Longleaf has good ratings as well so that was our new destination. David was our waiter, informative but his speech was very fast... hard to follow. His recommendations were spot on though, the lasagna I ordered was sumptuous, the avo/wild rice/shrimp salads delicious (and we're not really shrimp people), and the crispy potatoes were awesome. Deviled eggs were good as well. No complaints here. If David would have slowed the speech down a bit we'd have had a better experience... something to keep in mind. Lastly, the place itself is rustic and the bathrooms are in a separate building.

10/10 Cocktails Bartender Bri KNOWS what she's doing! Absolute talent. Best Cocktail experience in Wimberley. If you're visiting, definitely check this place out! We didn't have dinner but that'll be my next post on this place!! But overall ambiance is super chill and laid back. Great dim lighting indoors and really big outdoor seating area.

I don't normally do reviews, and the food was so good I thought I had to write one. 10/10 recommend. Everyone was so nice, the chef came out and asked us how our food was, the staff was very knowledgeable and recommended all the right things. We also sat in the back patio area and it was beautiful. One of my favorite restaurants I've ever eaten at.

If we could give more than 5 stars we would. The food was outstanding and Chef Robert a true gem. The flavors in his dishes and sauces are amazing and Wimberley is fortunate to have his talents on display here.

    Me and the chef

I ca not say enough great thinga about this restaurant! The food is exquisite and the sercive is perfection. Megan turned our experience into that of knowledge kindness and joy! She was amazing! Rob Walczyk the chef is why we are here. He is a magician. Everything on the menu is exceptional. I am addicted to the fried olives and the deviled eggs! The pate is velvet and made to perfection. Cant wait to come back

The menu clearly states they serve a "Grass-Fed Smash Burger" with "Two Grass-Fed Smash Patties..." What is dishonestly served is one pre-made frozen overcooked dry patty not anywhere near worth the $18.00 that is charged. That was a $6.00 hamburger, at best! Smash patties, by definition, are balls of fresh ground hamburger that are smashed flat at the time of cooking, not pre-made frozen pre-formed patties probably made out of the cheapest hamburger available. When asked about being served only one pre-formed patty instead of two real smash patties like the menu says, the server quickly responded with oh, they used to be two 3oz smash patties but it's quicker and cheaper to just make them with one 6oz patty. Really???? So management thinks customers are ok with that? They obviously rely on the one-time tourist business and don't care about repeat customers. I'm not looking for cheap and quick, I prefer a pleasant experience with good food but the bad food greatly overshadowed the nice atmosphere. Too bad. Management decided to go cheap and quick and didn't bother to change the menu? And customers would be ok with that? And the server who obviously KNEW what was going on didn't bother to tell the customer about the change to cheap and quick before they were ordered??? False advertising AND deliberately dishonest. What that is screaming to me is DON'T EVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!!

I can say the ambiance is wonderful. It is a beautiful place. Our previous attending and food choices/selections were fantastic. In preparation for, since two had not been there, I pointed them to the online menu. First mistake, the menu is old and requires update. I think if I had known that I would not have made Tilley's an option. The prices of everything were pretty high. And based on the food we selected, most was not worth the cost. One order included Short Rib Pasta with a thin pasta as tagliolini. Instead, I receive a pulled pork with a very thick pasta. I did not care for it. I like thin pasta. Pictures display what was provided and a typical Northern Italy dish of tagliolini. Because I am not certain of the plate names, I can only comment as to what our group had to say. And of course, the menu online is still not up to date. Steak Frites. The steak was a little tough and cold. It did not really have a real flavor. It was accompanied by fries that were not tasty at all. Thank God for ketchup. House made Focaccia, as an appetizer, was a good size that could be shared among the 4 of us. Make sure to ask for extra butter because they only provide a small container. As big as it is and 4 adults, you would think they would automatically provide enough butter for each. The night was so busy that when we finally did ask and got it, the bread was already cold. The lemon brick chicken was another favorite dish in our group. It was tasty. The best dish was the fish (cod). It was superb, since we were disappointed in our own meals, we were fortunate the birthday girl shared with us. The fish was cooked excellent. Let me summarize by saying that based on prices, staff, and time for food to come to us, it wasn't worth it. I think a better choice would have been Trattoria Lisina in Driftwood where you don't have to pay for the bread and staff is always there to take care of you and get the food to you in a more expeditious fashion. Fortunately, Tilley's is beautiful therefore the surroundings make time go by a little quicker. I did send a similar note to Tilley's, but they did not respond.

We were greeted by a friendly hostess that put our name on the list. We waited about 10 minutes and then they called our name. They seated us outside in a shaded area. It was really nice. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the atmosphere. After waiting a few minutes our waitress came over and greeted us. She was very friendly and took care of us throughout our visit. She gave us menus and took our drink order. When she brought us our waters she took our order. To start we shared some onion rings and nachos. The onion rings were delicious. The interior onion was sweet and the exterior batter was crispy. The nachos were tasty. The chips were thick and able to hold all of the ingredients and the chicken tinga was flavorful. For our main meal my son ordered the pepperoni pizza and loved it. My husband ordered the Fried Catfish Lunch. He enjoyed it and said the catfish was soft with a crispy, and light breaded exterior. He said that the hush puppies and fries were fine. I ordered the Meat Pizza which comes with Pepperoni, Ham, Bacon, and Sausage. The pizza was yummy. I could definitely taste the pepperoni and sausage flavor and the ham was spread out in large chunks. The crust was light and airy. Overall Hays City Store was a great place to visit for lunch.
