I thought this place was great! Clearly it is the local watering hole and was packed from the minute we got there, till the moment we left. We even drove by later in the evening and it was still packed. As for the ambiance, very nice vibe, great views and lots of seating. They were equipped with outdoor heaters all throughout the outdoor seating area also. While we were there, we saw two servers and they were attending all the guests pretty quickly, so we didn't have any issue there. We did see that the tables weren't getting cleaned off for the new groups coming in and we also never got our food. We ordered a frozen margarita and an Austin East cider and some fries. Our drinks came out right away but the fries never came out and we were already done with our drinks so we just asked our waitress to take them off the bill. Other than that everything was great. I love Wimberley! This place used to roll up the sidewalks at sunset, but now it's got a little nightlife action. Sure, it all still shuts down around 11-12, but hey--at least now you can stay out late enough to feel rebellious without ruining your morning coffee routine. Beers are about $8-9, which is basically the price of admission to hang out under some of the best string lights you'll ever see. Cool retro outdoor bar! Nice place to grab drinks with friends. Burgers are a always a hit with visitors but some of the other items are hit or miss. Everyone agrees the fries are disappointing. Service was a little slow, but understandable with the small kitchen and large amount of customers they got. This seems like one of the main watering holes for folks to gather and grab a drink after a long day. Fish tacos and Philly Cheesesteak was incredibly filling and tasty! Chicken sandwich tasted a little burnt, and is definitely not as spicy as expected. The fish tacos were more spicy than the chicken! I have been waiting to try this place out for a LONG time. Every time I drive by, it is CRAZY packed. Great location, great concept, it was time for me to come by. Of all days, I met my son for pizza next door and we decided to try it out. It was a Monday and surprisingly not packed, so we went over. We went to the bar to order the drinks because we didn't see the waiter leaning under the TV waiting for customers. Pro-tip: Just have a seat and someone will come serve you. Exactly like it should have been! Rube me, was in too much of a hurry and hit the bartender directly. We decided to go with a classic Margarita on the rocks with salt. After she mixed the drinks it didn't take up the glass enough so she just kept packing ice into it until it was full. Not sure I would have gone that route, but hey I haven't been a bartender since the last century. What am I to know about modern mixology. Me, I would have just liked the ingredients as done with out the shaved ice cone thrown in. We were lucky that there weren't a lot of people. Only two other seating areas taken so when we had enough of the sun we easily moved to seats in the shade. The drinks were very good until the shaved ice started to melt. But by then it was time for us to leave. The flies were FIERCE. I asked what the green stuff was on the bar. I thought it was some sort of special salt or special spiced sugar or even plastic thing. She said it wasn't working well but was supposed to be shaved soap to keep the flies away. Perhaps a deep cleaning might have worked?? Or just some fly traps since they weren't going anywhere. Anyway, I loved the spot. Still love the concept. The drinks could be great. A definitely great spot to bring friends. Just make sure you bring bug spray. read more

I'd like to love this place, but I simply cannot. The service is very inconsistent and the food follows suit. I've had a couple of really good meals here but sadly, I've had more bad ones. Our server tonight was pretty indifferent. My drink was ok-a margarita that has been better. I was excited to see fried shrimp on the menu but was very disappointed when it arrived. While the 6 shrimp were large as promised, they were not butterflied, fresh tasting or scrumptious. The breading fell off completely, and the red sauce served with it was not ample for the portion. The only thing with my shrimp were some fries that seemed leftover from lunch. They were soggy and barely warm. Top it off with their horrible environmental policies; foil squeeze tubes of ketchup, plastic lidded containers for sauces, and plastic flatware, the place often feels dirty. It's the most visible bar scene in Wimberley so it will continue to thrive. But I'd avoid if you want service, consistency, fresh flavor and cleanliness. read more

We decided to meet a few friends at the let go in downtown Wimberley. Like anywhere near there, parking is not easy but if you drive around long enough, you'll eventually find one a few blocks away. We started with a bloody Mary and a French 77, which were both $12 each. My fiance liked her French 77 but the first and second one tasted quite different, not surprising based on the lack of measuring when it was made. The bloody Mary was very cucumber forward, a little weird for that drink but probably not bad if you like cucumber (I don't). They had beer top but not a great selection if you like craft imo. My second drink was a michelada which was cheaper and better than the Mary. What I did enjoy was the outside seating and people watching as you're right in the middle of the action and traffic in Wimberley. We had a decent time but probably wouldn't hurry back. read more

The service is excellent, the attention really was extraordinary. The recommendation and description that they gave me about the menu was very useful. So happy to report that this place has caught its stride since my first couple experiences there 2 years ago. The tickets times are a lot better, the fries are now the best in town and the burger might also be the best in town. Perfectly cooked w excellent bun, fresh toppings and made to my specs last 3 times in a row w no mistakes. They have taken over as best lunch burger in town and it makes me happy! My girlfriend and I stopped in on a very chilly Saturday evening during a pub crawl in Wimberley, and the outdoor bar hit the spot. The heaters kept us just warm enough as we enjoyed NFL playoff football. Caleb the bartender was professional and prompt, and our drinks were cold and affordable. In a small town where everything shuts down earlier in the evening this great spot delivered, open till 11pm. Located right off the square, the space is convivial the bar well furnished, the crew welcoming. We enjoyed their fish-n-chips, perfect portion size for sharing. Fries crispy golden brown, the fish, well done batter dip and fried to golden brown perfection, flaky and flavorful. The space is mostly outside with covered areas around the bar but still very comfortable for being what it is, a casual, fun watering hole and place to grab a solid meal. If you find yourself in the Hill Country and you're wanting a place to refuel this is a great spot! read more

It was busy, but there were several bartenders working. One of them, I believe her name is Katie, was doing shots with customers and it obviously affected her work. It's not a good look for a bar when the people who work there are drunk. There was no manager on duty either on a busy Friday night to ask for assistance.
