I came to Wimberley with my friends for a girls trip. We stopped in social for some frozen drinks since there was a heat wave. Both days we came by, I got a frozen sangria/frose swirl. Two of my friends got the sangria on the rocks, and it is much (MUCH) stronger. I noticed they had light bites, and though the menu doesn't specify, the worker told me they try to have some gluten-free options. She also gave us several recommendations for where we could eat. I wish I remembered her name because she was so incredibly helpful! We will absolutely be back!! read more

Made a quick pit stop here to check out the area and so glad that we decided to. Laura was extremely sweet and helpful! We all ended up ordering wine flights, which comes with your choice of any four wines. All the ones that I tried were so good and paired perfectly with the charcuterie board that we ordered. You can tell Laura takes her time to make the charcuterie boards as beautiful and presentable as possible! The upstairs lounge area offers a nice escape for couples or bring a group of friends and make it a party! If you love to people watch, you can hang out at the window table top. The downstairs bistro tables are easy to arrange to accommodate the size of your group, so invite your friends and share your favorite bottle of wine! Henson Square offers a small stage with live music, Ikea skarpo chairs, picnic tables, and fire pits. Be sure to check out the musical lineup and store hours. Shops close early in Wimberley so plan an afternoon and early evening visit. I always enjoy the Torresella Prosecco Rose but be sure to ask for a sample (or two) to find your favorite! read more

Located in Wimberly, a quaint and safe little village tucked away in the middle of a group of hills one might stumble upon Social on the Square and you'll be better for it. I happened upon it on a very hot June day and was pleasantly surprised with what I found. Working my way past a lovely little courtyard with live music at 2pm on a Saturday, I was looking to grab an adult beverage to carry around but something that could fight off the sun. I opened the door to Social on the Square and saw couples playing all sorts of games like adult connect four, jenga and you get the point. the vibe is minimalistic yet playful and to the point. That said my eyes were immediately drawn to two beautiful women I called "sisters." To stir the pot I said one of them were more beautiful than the other to which the friends argued who that could be. The drinks are perfect and I love the small wine collection. It's not a huge selection, rather small, affordable and decent quality. The frozen Sangria was down right great but it may have been the icy beverage chilled my overheating brain. There are a few beers on tap as well but I'm not much of a beer drinker. Overall, I love this little nugget. It has a great little staff, wonderful wine selection and ambiance. I encourage anyone to come in flipflops, kick back with a good glass of wine and let the day or night slip away. Who knows you might see me in the back swirling a Cab with a smile on my face. While in Wimberly walking around the downtown market area, the wife wanted a glass of wine and I wanted a beer so we found Social. She had a "slushy" sangria and I had a local draft. We sat outside and listened to live music for a bit. Nice big fire pit going as the weather was cold n windy. Nice casual place to relax for a bit. Some seating indoors and plenty outside fire the music and fire. A great place to chill for a few mins. Next time I'll take a pic to add. read more

This has to be one of my favorite places in Wimberley after my visit today! My friend and I saw a cute little cove of shops and saw people sitting outside by a nice fire (it was chilly today) with beer and champagne so figured we'd check it out. We went in where we were greeted by two friendly woman and the faces of smiling customers - always a good sign! The inside seating area was casual but cute. You walk up to the bar area to order your drinks and the women who work there are very helpful. I told them what I was in the mood for and they helped me decide on the right pour for me... they also let me taste a few to ensure I liked what I was about to order. I ordered a glass of the pine ridge champagne and my friend ordered a dressed dos equis on draft. Both of us were very pleased with our orders. We took our drinks to the outdoor seating area, found a sunny spot and relaxed while we caught up. Everyone was very friendly around us and we ended up chatting and making new friends. This place also sold S'mores kits so you could make them my the fire - genius! This place is perfect for a girls day or a date night! Definitely a place I'd recommend! read more

Walked into Social on the Square in Wimberley about 4 minutes ago. The environment is quaint with a very simple process. The two women behind the counter were very polite and professional. I arrived at a time when the crowd was very low maybe 6-8 people. I ordered a Charcuterie Board- was somewhat disappointed to see the definition of a charcuterie board was 2 Cheeses and 2 meats with a few nuts, grapes and raspberries served in a paper board cardboard box. For $18 the cheeses should not be something I can pick up in an H‑E‑B. In fact nothing in this charcuterie box was uniques special or interesting. The wine I order was a Finca Nueva Tempranillo from Spain. As for the drink offerings they have a small but reasonable collection. I suspect my only disappointment with the is I remain somewhat of a snob and do not enjoy a decent red wine served at room temperature. Most reds should be served between 54-57 degrees. In Texas, on a day that is close to 100 room temperature is somewhere between 75-80 which makes the drink feel excessive warm. Having said this however, I will say I have found very few Texas establishments that appropriately present wine. I would have given this place two stars had the environment and friendliness of the staff not added significantly to the experience of being in this place. I will come back because it is close and easy. Being one who make charcuterie boards and eats small plates 95% of the time I had hoped for a different experience but I am not surprised. The overtly rural nature of Texas has made difficult the finding of places that I feel drawl towards in all areas. What I am happy to say is this is not just another Texas Bar-b-que with disappointing hype. read more

Had the opportunity during a shopping trip to Wimberley to stop in and try a new spot "Social on the Square" for a small bite & some bubbly. The suggested champagne I tried was delicious and as was the food. It was a perfect afternoon. Lots of space outdoors to enjoy and very chic interior space as well. I stopped in on 04/15/2023. A group of us traveled from Wisconsin to Wimberley for a wedding. We came across this place, when shopping. I was treated by one the nicest lady's I've ever met. We had just had a drink, but I was starving. She mentioned the special. Pimento Cheese, on a Everything Bagel, with jam. I couldn't pass up an opportunity to try a pimento cheese sandwich. I will say it was one of the, if not greatest meals I had, while in Texas. The place is beautiful inside, and it's closely matched by the square outside. I highly recommend visiting, due to the service alone. When I travel back to Wimberley, this will be one of my 1st stops. Really like this place. Small but good selection of wines, 3 beers on tap. We had the frose and it was delightful on a blistering hot day. Nice, clean, modern, fresh flowers on the tables, great air conditioning . Acoustics are a little on the loud side. Friendly owners. Told them we would love a frozen Paloma option and he said they are thinking about that plus a wine- based frozen margarita option as well as frozen sangria option. Can't wait to come here in the fall/winter when it's cooler out so we can sit outside in the lovely courtyard. Definitely recommend! read more
