You'll again be greeted by a helpful, charming, engaging waitperson. Our latest waitperson was Sami, a delightful young lady who tended to us as if we were her only table. You'll discover a menu with great selections with Chef Monty's personal flair and reasonably priced. If he can free himself, you'll most likely meet Monty, both owner and chef. It's hard to imagine a nicer guy unless it's Kyle, the manager! Palmer's atmosphere is suitable for casual conversation over a meal, for Sunday brunch, an anniversary, or a romantic date night. One of our favorite activities is evenings in the courtyard with wine and appetizers. Also, it's difficult to resist their desserts, by the way! Reservations are accepted on a limited basis, but "call ahead" is always available. There, I've said it. Against my better judgement, you now what I you know. The rest is up to you.

The food portions were surprisingly small for the price -- honestly small enough for a toddler. However, i prefer the Graduate plate and I will say the mashed potatoes were incredible and probably the best I've had anywhere but the pot chop tasted like turkey and had no flavor. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest disappointment. Our waiter never really welcomed us or made us feel appreciated as guests, especially for such an important occasion with a party of 13. As the graduate and guest of honor, I felt completely ignored the entire night, which especially upset my mother. He mainly interacted with only one family member the entire evening and came across as cold and uninterested. I understand he may have had a broken wrist or was having a difficult day, but it still felt disrespectful and lacking basic hospitality. I might consider returning someday to try the regular menu instead of the preset graduation menu, but I definitely would not want the same waiter again.

The wine selection is excellent and the service is every bit as impressive. You can tell the owners poured their hearts into every last detail. The décor is beautiful, but the ambiance really has to be experienced to understand just how special this place is. It's comfortable, intimate and full of character without feeling pretentious. Darrell, one of the owners, made the experience even more memorable with his captivating stories behind the wines. At one point, he even picked up a guitar and sang for a group of ladies, which was such a special moment and perfectly captured the charm of this place. My work trips anywhere within an hour of New Braunfels just became a lot more enjoyable! Thank you to Darrell and the entire staff for creating such a magical place. We started with the "Spirit of the Vine" and a smokey red flight. After Allie's white wine suggestion, I fully trusted her to pick my white wine flight and she did an amazing job! We mentioned that we were on a family camping trip and she sold us on the port wine they make. I usually dislike ports, but this one was just like sitting by the fire eating a s'mores! Smooth, not overly sweet, and soooo good! We sat by the winery's back window and chatted with other patrons. We loved how beautiful the winery was; complete with a cold and hot water station, and to honor those for Memorial Day they had a remembrance table. We can't stop talking about Water 2 Wine. We ordered our alcohol. My wife and traveling companion got me a white chocolate Martini, it came with a pearl and a cherry. and I got her a cocktail called Emily Morgan. Both were very good. The service was friendly but only two people running the whole thing and one was the owner or manager who was mostly the greeter. She was friendly but the main bartender was doing most of the work and while impressive I felt sort of bad for him. The set up is you can sit at the bar, then there is a walkway all in a line from the door. When you enter bar is on your right. To the left are tables of various sizes. Right in front of the stage is a table with two comfy chairs. Right past the bar is a small seating nook with comfy chairs. Not a bad overall setup. Bathrooms are through another set of doors. No food but there is a popular pizza place nearby and you can bring that in to eat. The comics were both funny. We bought a CD and T-Shirt from the main guy. The one thing that did go wrong was the stage lighting. It just randomly would switch colors, brightness, sometimes turn off completely. This was their first comedy show there but they have live music so not sure what happened. You got your own water from a glass dispenser which was not the only place that did this. It was a pretty popular option. We also had a shot of peanut butter whiskey. The overall price wasn't bad. It was a nice place, they had live music coming after the comic but we had other plans. This was our only visit to The Pearl on this trip but it was a pleasant rest stop for weary traveller's in need of quenching our thirst and merriment.
