Having traveled from our home to this town, we had checked into our inn and now wanted some refreshments and mirth. We happened upon a bar that had a teller of comicdic stories and his helper and thought this to be perfect. The name of said bar was The Pearl and the storyteller a Mr. Daryl Felsberg. We ordered our alcohol. My wife and traveling companion got me a white chocolate Martini, it came with a pearl and a cherry. and I got her a cocktail called Emily Morgan. Both were very good. The service was friendly but only two people running the whole thing and one was the owner or manager who was mostly the greeter. She was friendly but the main bartender was doing most of the work and while impressive I felt sort of bad for him. The set up is you can sit at the bar, then there is a walkway all in a line from the door. When you enter bar is on your right. To the left are tables of various sizes. Right in front of the stage is a table with two comfy chairs. Right past the bar is a small seating nook with comfy chairs. Not a bad overall setup. Bathrooms are through another set of doors. No food but there is a popular pizza place nearby and you can bring that in to eat. The comics were both funny. We bought a CD and T-Shirt from the main guy. The one thing that did go wrong was the stage lighting. It just randomly would switch colors, brightness, sometimes turn off completely. This was their first comedy show there but they have live music so not sure what happened. You got your own water from a glass dispenser which was not the only place that did this. It was a pretty popular option. We also had a shot of peanut butter whiskey. The overall price wasn't bad. It was a nice place, they had live music coming after the comic but we had other plans. This was our only visit to The Pearl on this trip but it was a pleasant rest stop for weary traveller's in need of quenching our thirst and merriment. read more

This place was nice. It was a little crowded, but had a very calm crowd. I felt like you can sit down with a drink and actually have a relaxing time. We stopped by the Pearl for a pre-party cocktail, yea that's how we roll. The Pearl is a cool lounge on the main drag in Lockhart. As others have noted Ruben greeted us as regulars as we sat down at the bar. There is a good selection of beer and Ruben will mix you a righteous cocktail. On Sat a blues band was setting up but we had to leave before they played. Need a snack to accompany your cocktail how about a jar of chicharróns. I know where we'll be visiting on our next BBQ run to Lockhart, with Ruben and the guys at the Pearl. read more

The Pearl has been my drinking stop with its great atmosphere, music and always enjoy my favorite whiskey for over 5 years and always include one for the bartender and usually a generous tip for Reuben. Recently lost a loved one and per the bartender forget my drink bill and took care of it at a later time. Not really pleased with how this was handled and never did see the bill and will not tolerate being treated like a convict especially when drinking the ranger. Reuben probably needs a salary bump and a few days to relax so he can treat loyal patrons differently. read more

We popped into the Pearl based on other yelp reviews and felt like we walked into our hometown bar. The bartender Reuben greeted us warmly and did everything he could to make us feel welcome. They had about 30 different beers in the cooler and Reuben whipped up some great craft cocktails. We didn't know that it was open mic night but we stayed and listened to some local musicians give it there best. A great place! read more

I am a local and have tried going into The Pearl multiple times. Maybe Rubén used to be great, but his attitude is absolutely insane and he drives business away. Last night HE (not the owner) decided to close at 10 (on a Saturday) when the hours said they were open until 12. We walked in happy to provide our business (a group of 10), and he said, "You can have one drink. I'll serve you since you are here. I was happier when I thought I was going home." We turned around and went to Old Pal where they were HAPPY to have us. There's a reason that Ruben is the only employee. I'm sure that no one can deal with his mood swings. Get someone else to man the bar- someone who is consistently nice- or all your business will go to the other, much friendlier places in town. There are too many great options in Lockhart (now) to think that a grouchy, rude bartender will continue to keep patrons coming back. read more

I have never been to a bar in Lockhart but I will travel again for Austin to visit The Pearl. The atmosphere is great. Awesome live music on the weekends and the bartenders are phenomenal! Great for Lockhart to have this little slice of hip, but the beer selection is dreadful. With all the fabulous Texas beer available, why would you carry Bud, Coors, Miller Lite? HEB brands....Maybe the proprietor will get a hint and get some good beer in stock. I can't imagine my Austin friends drinking here otherwise. Props for the cool remodel. read more

I was super impressed with the renovation done on this place. Its tasteful and inviting atmosphere is a first for a full service bar in Lockhart. The old original wooden bar and barback were beautifully maintained but everything else is brand new and sparkling clean. The bartender is welcoming and will make any drink you name and a couple of his own concoctions. Of course they have beer/wine too. There are no TVs or other distractions, so you can actually just sit and relax and enjoy your company. I'm so glad there's finally a nice comfortable full service bar in Lockhart to enjoy. Just down the street from Black's BBQ, this is definitely a place to check out while you're in Lockhart. read more

I have long wanted a nice cocktail bar in Lockhart where I could meet friends after work or on the weekend. Driving to Austin was a pain. Enter The Pearl! Ronda has done an amazing job renovating the historic building and creating a friendly, relaxed ambiance. And manager/bartender Julian is friendly and loves creating new and delicious drinks. Some of us have already set a weekly girls' happy hour day/time. Plus I suspect I'll be by there more than the girls' gathering.
