Been here for a few outdoor shows. Easy-ish in and out parking wise. Came in this wknd for a St. Patty's day event and the cover was $15... for what? Nothing that was advertised. No bagpipes, nor Irish wolfhounds. Drinks were watered down. Was there 3-4 hours and needed some food, very limited menu and everyone in our party got disgustingly sick after eating queso fries. The grease had to have been old, haven't eaten since basically. There's much better watering holes around with better drinks and service. The outdoor waitress gave us a hard time because we had a tab open inside at the bar. Everything felt very not customer focused plus the MAJOR GI issues? No thanks, not again. read more

Bucks has issues with music and management The acoustics are horrible, the sound guy did his best to mix, however the venue lacks sound dampening acoustics and echos off ceiling and walls destroy any clean sound from the band. Reserved seating leaves you without a view! This is crazy, tables are on the side and left side seating is at same level as the standing room for GA that extends to the stage directly in center. On a full house concert you will be left with no view and bad accoustics. Bartenders and wait staff were friendly, however the management has allowed a rude bouncer who pushes his way through and has seen the movie Roadhouse a few too many times. I had arrived early to be upfront and center to enjoy the band, only to be pushed to the side as the bouncer put to cute girls in front of me as he needed to get laid and had no regard for others. Supposed to have food and advertised 1/2 price burgers on Mondays. Went there yesterday Monday 10/20/25. Kitchen was closed! Drinks were lame. Tasted like no alcohol whatsoever. I came to see Ghostland for Halloween and I had a freaking blast! It was our first visit to Bucks and I don't have any complaints, no matter where you were there was always a decent view of the stage. Parking at first looked like it would be a nightmare but the team at bucks was able to quickly navigate everyone to a parking spot. The lines to get drinks were quick and the price for a drink was fairly priced We didn't order any food, so no comment there. If I would visit Bucks again for a show I absolutely would, and you should too! read more

We heard about this spot because our friend was performing there. The place is nice & spacious. They have a nice stage set up inside and out. Plenty of seating, they have the bar area and sugabee's bbq inside as well. We didnt get to try the food this time around because when we went to order at 8:30 they said they had already ran out and they close at 9pm. The performance from Jeremy from Brutal Republic was great and he even got people dancing. We had a couple of drinks, listened to Jeremy play his guitar and hung out. I attended a show in December for what I thought was a good cause. They have plenty of room for events, but I can't imagine they have enough parking? Well, I decided to get something to eat inside. My friend ended up ordering fries and such in which the blondie flipped the tablet to enter the tip or swipe the card. When I ordered, she said they didn't have what was on their menu and then she said they do. Well, she didn't flip the tablet on me just asked for my payment. I asked her to flip it to see see what I am paying for? It seemed odd that the sandwich was only $10 and then it added to almost $13. She turned the tablet so slowly and I noticed there was an automatic 20% GRATITUITY CHARGE already. I asked her why that was added in which she said its taxes ? I go no, it says gratuity!! So she tried to lie. I decided not to order it after she lied and didn't know what's on the menu. Next, I noticed the bartenders were doing the same thing adding the 20% for gratuity. I asked a bartender why they are automatically adding it because the servers were not mentioning anything about it and I did not see nothing posted (which is the law) about the automatic 20% . It should be large and legible to read in which I did not notice. The bartender just said the owner applies it for "special events" whatever that means? The bartenders were mediocre and didn't even ask if we wanted lime or salt on our (warm) draft beers. So, I don't know why they are expecting so much for no good service. read more

First time visit here to see Whiskey Myers and Bones Owens. Excellent outdoor venue. Parking was a little complicated and $8 to park, but it was manageable. They had beer tents set up several areas close or near to the stage. The price of beer was very steep and the biggest reason I have not rated them higher. It's one thing to make a profit and it's quite another to make an obscene profit. $7 a can is very steep. By the way all the tents near the stage are cash only. I could see $5 a can but no more than that. I had plenty of cash but only bought 2 beers, at some point it just makes you mad to pay that much. So Bishop maybe run the numbers and think about dropping your beer prices. read more

went to the steeldrivers concert here last night & absolutely loved the venue! they have an indoor stage & a larger outdoor amphitheater...both are extremely spacious and I loved how they had both an indoor and outdoor bar! drinks were reasonably priced & the food was great! they do a large parking lot in the front, but does get fairly packed on weekends so be sure to get her early for shows, etc. I'd definitely come back for more shows. the drive from downtown austin to here wasn't too bad! read more

This place it great, went here for a concert and was impressed with the whole setup. They have a large stage out in back that could accommodate at lease 1000 people, inside has a small stage with plenty of room to move around. Our group ordered burgers and fries and it was delicious. Was directed here for a BBQ contest hosted by a friend. I walked in asking for directions, and a smaller bearded man told me it was in the back, but there was a $15 cover. "Surely my friend would've mentioned the cover, if that's right. Are you sure?" I asked. After much clarification on my part, the man ASSURED me the $15 cover was a part of the BBQ contest, and that it was just out back. "Down the stairs, take a right when you get the grass and it should be in that back corner." Well, I ended up getting there and hopping the fence to get to the contest where the host told me this was a separate event and there was no cover at all. Our group headed back up to the actual bar to ask about the "cover," and the same small man told us it's for the BBQ event, I called BS and he took us to his manager who ended up giving us our money back. I wouldn't even review this place, seeing as my only interaction was being misled and robbed. People don't appreciate being lied to, and it's gonna reflect on your business. read more

I came here with a friend to celebrate passing my Nursing entrance exams with flying colors. My friend had been here a few times before and said it was a pretty chill place and a lot of fun. When we first arrived it was around 730 which meant it wasn't too crowded. We grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered some food to enjoy. The food came out super quick and hot. We got wings (mix of Cajun and lemon pepper), queso and chips, and fried pickles. Due to my food sensitivities, I could only have the wings. The wings were meh and overcooked. Next time I would venture outside and grab some BBQ off of Sugabee truck or eat before I come. Now this venue is very large. You can stay inside where they have live music, dancing, tables for hanging out, and a bar. Or you can head outside where they have a patio area to chill out with your friends. You can also venture over and hang out with the firepits which will keep you a little toasty on a cooler night. Another option is to play pool or some games. Really, this place has a lot to offer its patrons. Others have noted they had issues with the service here. The service was hit or miss during my time here last night. I believed it all depends on who was your server/bartender. One of my old kickboxing instructors from my gym works here and he was, of course, an amazing bartender. Then there was one girl who seems to have a slight attitude when ordering drinks. Also others had issues with their tabs and my bar bill was correct. read more

The bartenders were cordial not over the top friendly but I guess they were anticipating the rush from the show. They had some of what we wanted but not all. Used to go to Bucks a couple Times a month for some beers and food. There are not a lot of cool places around Kyle so it was always convenient. The service started going down hill a few years back so it's probably been a couple years since I've been back. Went Saturday and the service is absolutely terrible. They were slow and I still had to stand for long periods of time just to get a couple beers. I actually stood there just listening to the bartender talk about dogs with the only 2 other customers at the bar. My buzzer went off to grab the queso I ordered just to have the waitress take it off the counter and serve to someone else so I had to wait for some thick goopy queso. Now I remember why I don't go there any more. The beer is cold but the service has sucked for a good 5 years now. read more

You don't have to go to a concert to love Buck's Backyard. Buck's is huge and the indoor room where the musicians play is huge. * * * Well, the place isn't called Bucks. It is called Buck's Backyard. The Backyard is even nicer by day than by night. The backyard is absolutely humongous. I don't think I am exaggerating to say the Backyard at Buck's is the size of a municipal park. It is nicer than most of the municipal parks in Austin. The hills roll down from Buck's itself to Onion Creek. The shore of Onion Creek is beautiful. Between Bucks and Onion Creek are low stone walls like the walls you see in ruined castles. There are groves to walk in. There is an artfully arranged circle of boulders. If you brought the kiddies, you'll find a nicely done children's playground. Or more precisely, your kids will find it for you. When I was there, there were about twenty families enjoying the creek and scenery. Apparently, families like the place so much that Buck's has to put up a sign asking the parents to take their kids home by ten. This is a sensible policy. All good children should be in bed by ten. And I am going to guess that the adults that want to be bad start showing up at ten thirty. * * * I was there late afternoon, so I did not see any of the honky-tonk shenanigans. But Buck's is a fine place to be at sunset. Technically, Buck's backyard faces east, so you can't really watch the sun set. But the view is panoramic and resplendent. So you look around at magnificent landscape on every side, and watch the trees turn golden and the greens turn gentle. I would rather spend a late afternoon with a whiskey at Bucks than a late afternoon with the same beverage at the Oasis. The view is just as nice and you don't have to put up with rampant commercialism. * * * How is the food at Bucks? Outstanding. We are talking Texas Ice House here. Don't come in expecting dove under glass. But you want food that goes with beer? That's just what they got and they do it well. I had a first rate plate of Southwestern Egg Rolls - and a Hellburger with fries. What goes into Southwestern Egg Rolls? I don't have the slightest idea. There were black beans. There was corn. There was a little bit of jalapeno to give it zip. And the rest of the filling was Texas stuff whatever that is. It tasted good and it went with my whiskey. The Hellburger was your basic hamburger loaded with jalapenos and a chipotle sauce. What made this hamburger stand out was an absolutely first rate char on the burger. The dominant taste was beef charred on the grill, even though the bun was crammed with jalapenos. This is what a Hellburger is supposed to taste like. It sets the standard for all the other jalapeno burger wannabes. French fries were superior too. They were nicely battered, fried to dark brown and someone put a nice spice mix in the batter. * * * Buck's is a friendly place. After I ordered Southwestern Egg Roll, one fellow volunteered advice to let them cool down before eating them. He then entertained me with molten ingot stories. Another lady noted I was eating a burger just after I had had a whole plate of egg rolls. I played along by tossing off a "getting fat" joke. I made a note to myself never to have an extramarital affair in Kyle. The neighbors here keep tabs on what you are doing. But I still like a place where everybody talks to everybody else, and even a first timer is welcomed like a buddy. Some night I will have to come back and get a dose of the music. The Buda/Kyle metroplex continues to expand it's list of neat venues. Buck's is a cool, little, spot with PLENTY of room for everyone. This old events venue was completely transformed into this great hangout spot. it has a huge parking lot, the grounds are spacious, well lit, bars inside and out, PET FRIENDLY, video games, pool tables, cornhole outside, porch area, amphitheater, and their own kitchen plus Shugga Bee's in its parking lot. Buck's, since just opened the last 24 hours, is still working out the kinks. I did not have any issues and the staff was supper attentive and friendly. Being that it was muddy outside, they kept making sure the mud was removed from the entry ways. Their beer selection for now was about 99% domestic with 1 craft beer. Liquors were pretty much standard and didn't see any premiums, not that it's a bad thing. First impression was good and the star for this cross between country/sports bar was is definitely on the rise. I look forward to seeing the progress! read more

We came here to go to Vernardos circus. The circus was amazing! I will be back every year! This review is about Bucks. Total disregard to public safety. There is a sign saying "masks need to be worn indoors" not even the bartender is wearing a mask. She has one around her chin. Why even bother wearing it? No one likes wearing a mask but it's the law right now. I can only imagine what's going on in the kitchen! Gross... the drinks weren't good either. Nice venue for a Texas Concert and had a dance floor in front of the stage. They were out of Rebecca Creek which was a sponsor of the musician I was there to see.. Little disappointing- Dog friendly bar which is cool. Not a place I'd go out of my way ( I was staying 30 minutes away) visit unless they had some great live entertainment. Menu changes to bar menu only after 9 I believe- a few of us were disappointed bc we had to change our orders last minute. Food was ok- it's bar food lol Fantastic performers though !
