talk about a cozy neighborhood bar. Live music, bar trivia, great drinks, incredible ambience. Why go to Austin when Buda is popping off like this? Nate's is our go to place to start the night off great. read more

Nate's is a cocktail bar, so don't come expecting food options. I'd say it's just okay--nothing that really stood out to me. I also know there has been some drug activity associated with this area, and that's not something I want to be around or participate in. For that reason, I personally would probably feel more comfortable visiting during the daytime rather than in the evening. It may be a different experience during the day, so I'd be open to giving it another try then. read more

I didn't eat here but I went with a friend to have a few drinks and there was live music in the patio that was very nice. You can get your drinks at the bar or wait until a waiter comes to you and serves you, they do take time to come to you though. Drinks are ok, I'll come back to this place but there's nothing super outstanding about it read more

Nate's Coffee & Cocktails is a coffee shop during the day and a local bar at night. It is located on Main Street in Buda, TX. They have a variety of entertainment including live music and comedy shows every other Monday night. They have a full service bar with a variety of adult beverages. They also have a picturesque patio with ample seating and fire pits around big oak trees. They make a custom cocktail for me from their in house made Marciano cherries. I get a muddled Marciano cherry margarita with mezcal and it is an amazing drink. They have patio service as well to make sure you are taken care of when you need to order another drink. read more

Nate's is located in the Buda Mill & Grain complex and it's a coffee & cocktail bar. You can have drinks of all kinds (coffee, tea, beer, mocktails, cocktails) at any time. The fall menu is in full swing so I opted for the iced butterscotch latte and it was scrumptious and refreshing on a 90 degree, sunny fall day! I like the vibe here. There's a large bar with different seating areas as well from little booths to a living area seating set up. They have a huge outdoor patio with umbrellas and ample seating for large groups. Dogs welcome! read more

This is my advice -please use a different floor cleaner or dilute what you are using . The last two times I visited the bar smelled strongly of Fabouloso. The smell was bothering us so we didn't want to sit indoors. Even outside, when the door would open we could smell it waffing over. (It was 10:30 on a Friday night and then a Sunday afternoon - so I can't image the floor has just been mopped). I do appreciate that the floors are clean though :) read more

We really enjoy Nate's! We've come 4 different times, and each time the service has been fine, and the drinks and specials have been great! I love coming to Nate's for the outdoor seating. Live music, sitting around a fire pit, surrounded by a great group of people, and call it a night! I love that they have Long Drink SF, but let's talk espresso martinis. SOLID martini for sure. I could Defintely can drink a couple of them and then easily call it a night! Nate's is open late too, and it's never gotten too rowdy which is nice. Decent live music and then sometimes a DJ for after hours. Also, do not sleep on the daily specials! Overall, a solid place to hang out! read more

Stopped in at Nate's for a late-night cap at the recommendation of some locals we ran into and glad we did. As we walk in the staff is super friendly and I was able to order my drink right away. Once received, we found a table on the outside patio and were able to enjoy the weather and the company. I didn't order food on this occasion as we just finished a late dinner but saw a menu with a few things I'd like to try so I'm gonna have to come back. read more

I have a subconscious contention when determining night time hangouts; style vs substance. What goes into this mental assessment is ambiance, quality of drinks and/or food, live music and convenience. Obviously, all amenities aren't present at each establishment so I weigh it accordingly. Now, I rather like the quaint and small town feel of mainstreet USA in Buda so I have an affinity already built into my selection. Which brings me to Nate's. A small but very much Austin-esc vibe contained in a little bar with a huge picturesque deck dominated by old oaks growing through the frame. Off the bat I'll note that since they don't have a food menu but they do allow outside food to be brought into the facilities. With that being said there are a few really good restaurants and which don't mind making your food to go. This all means it's a collaborative effort between the restaurants and I definitely appreciate the openness. Walking in the bar is the dominate feature running the length of the establishment. Its ceilings are wide open with huge white beams. While I'm no structural engineer I surmise the building must have been an old railhouse converted into a solon or at least that's the vibe I get. Also note, I've noticed this in another restaurant in Kyle, but whatever they clean with STINKS. Something about it really turns my stomach, but that's just me. The bathrooms are decent but as the drinks flow, the concern diminishes.... Now the staff are friendly and fast however even in slow times their attention wavers a bit. I asked for a coffee hot and got it cold, but it was fairly decent in terms of flavor. My girlfriend got a rita and wasn't impressed. This was all on the first visit mind you. The second visit was later at night and I got to hang out with the firepits. I gotta admit being under the stars on a cool March night with the lights strung through the Oak tree a fire warming my body and my girlfriend at my side made for a perfect evening. My drinks weren't complex so I can't really complain about much but give high praise. Finally since they're pet friendly my winglady was extremely happy with her "Paris Hilton" pet in tote. Overall, the drinks aren't exactly the talk of the town but after a few on one of the best porches in town it can be quickly overlooked. The place is safe the waitstaff are decent and the prices are comparable. Again, while not having a food menu, other restaurants more than adequately make up the difference if you're willing to walk a couple extra steps. Would I go again? You betcha and I'll be the one on the porch with a cocktail and a smile on my face. read more

Whenever my nephews are in town, we go to brunch and then we walk down to Nate's. We like this little tradition. The atmosphere is great. The drinks are great. The service is trash. Last time we were there it felt like we were such an inconvenience to the Blonde bartender. When someone asks what kind tequilas you have and they tell you "look over there" that's when you know you're not gonna have a great time. So we left and went to another bar. Previously great experience until the same bartender showed up and we left then. I don't know if we'll be back or stay if she is the only one there. read more

Buda on Main Street is one of the cutest treasures. This was a great point to stop and park and make a day of it if you want to walk the whole Main Street. I loved this little plaza and on a cold but beautiful Saturday, my friend and I were almost the only ones inside at 11:30AM. I got a dirty chai latter with oat milk to go even though we sat on a lovely couch in the back for a few hours catching up. It's such a cozy place with a few nooks and tables off to the side around the bigger main bar. She has champagne. I do t know that I've ever seen a full bar and coffee place before...maybe that's strange for me and I haven't lived LOL. The bartender did say that we are welcome to bring in our own food from a surrounding restaurant as they didn't have a kitchen but we just drank our beverages for the couple of hours we were there. Very cute spot. The surrounding shops were really special with local Buda wares that make lovely gifts and keepsakes. I can't believe I live 15 minutes away and haven't been before. read more

We did a day trip to Buda and Kyle today. I found @losolivosmarket_buda when searching for a restaurant with outdoor seating. It turns out that midday the sun is beating down there so we ended up @natesbuda patio. We ordered Barbacoa Doughnuts (the best dish), Foie Gras Tartine, Squid Ink Carbonara, Grilled Chicken Thigh and Seared Butternut Squash. The food was unique and pretty good. We ordered drinks from @natesbuda. I had the Queen of Hearts, my husband had the draft Eastcider and my Dad had Lemonade. The patio was perfectly shaded under the trees and there were fans and misters. After lunch, we shopped @losolivosmarket_buda for jams and sauces. read more

Stopped by after a Christmas party on the way home. I'm glad we did it was such a fun place and happened to be karaoke night. Drinks were good and so were the vibes. Only recommendation is that they don't have a designated order here spot at the bar. So you go up to the bar and have to catch someone's attention. Staff were all pleasant though. read more

Horrible experience. My friend and I went to catch up on the outdoor patio, grabbed a drink and found out it was comedy night. We were excited, only to be disappointed not only by the comedians, but by the staff at Nate's. The AGM, as he made sure I knew he was, was extremely rude, u professional, and borderline discriminatory. At the end of the night he offered to cover my tab, only to then hand it to me because I, "seemed upset he wanted to cover it for me." I expected him to cover it as he said he would, only to be charged 25% higher than my total via the card I had my open tab on. Can't get in touch with them via phone and def not going back. Got a gift card for the troubles, will be donating it. read more

Looking to have a chill time with drinks? Head to Nate's. The drinks are pretty good and around the usual drink price of $10. The bartenders are really nice and actually pay attention to you. On Saturday nights there's live music outside. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors. And the best part is there's plenty of parking. It's a cute spot in downtown Buda that I personally enjoy going into. read more

After getting the frozen margarita flight next door at Los Olivos, we weren't quite ready to head home, so we walked over to Nate's where my bro and his wife got another alcoholic beverage, while my partner got an espresso and I got a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is a bit pricey ($4) but it's prepared with the espresso machine to froth the whipped cream directly, so it gives it a nice smooth feel that's quite a yummy experience. Their outdoor seating was pretty full, so we opted to sit indoors and take one of the corner booths where there were pillows to cozy up on. The outdoor deck is really nice, positioned under a grand oak tree with lots of string lighting, along with a long firepit for cooler weather! Get there early before dusk to secure yourself a spot, is my advice. While there are a few deli sandwiches and the like to partake in, this joint is mainly a bar with a variety of drinks. Scan the QR code to view on your phone and order with the guy behind the counter. The inside decor rocks the industrial vibe that's become so in fashion currently. Bathrooms are clean and well-stocked. read more

I love hanging out at Nate's. They have killer cocktails as well as a full coffee bar. My wife drinks a latte and I get an old fashion. They have music and comedy at night as well as many other community based events during the day. Grab a bite next door at Dos Olivos and kick your feet up at Nates by one of the fire pits. Bring old friends, make new friends, and tip your bar tenders. It is always a great time. read more

During the Day it's a good to average coffee shop. At Night it is considerably worse. Drunken DJs, obnoxiois and arrogant bartenders, and bad vibe. The staff are all pretty friendly and helpful- however the Mid-Miley Cyrus PickMe girl and the Chubby aging "bro" are arrogant and discurteous. Take it down a notch- its BUDA not LA, NYC, or Miami. Not even Austin- no need for this attitude at a coffeeshop. Go in the AM or don't go at all. read more

Stopped in for a nightcap and stumbled into trivia night. Perfect. What wasn't perfect was the bartender. Husky Filipino/ Hispanic bruh with a gray shirt and backwards cap. Never got his name because he was too busy looking pissed off at the world and just couldn't be bothered. Ordered two drinks, a beer and a cocktail. He poured the beer then asked for my card. I said "Oh, I also had a whiskey". He said " I know". Pretty rudely. Asked if I was starting a tab. I said "No. I'll pay as I go". Then not a word after. Now I work in the airline industry and have really thick skin. But, his attitude did not set well with me. Especially since his job includes tipping for service. Why cut your nose off despite your face? Told my wife what had transpired. She went in to see for herself. Even she said he was rude. But he had time to chat up regulars and a cute girl sitting at the end of the bar. The only thing that salvaged the experience was the host for trivia night and the waitress working the outside patio. She had lots of people out there. Took care of all of us with a great attitude and friendliness. Probably will not come back. Too bad. The place had potential. read more

Cool spot in theory - patio is nice when weather is good and you're not being enveloped in cigarette smoke. Service is big time hit or miss. There's consistently only one bartender at the busiest times, so even the good/friendly bartenders are slammed. The one bartender that always negatively stands out has been mentioned in many other reviews, and I honestly can't believe he still works there. He's not friendly, helpful, or quick in any way. He always acts as if you're inconveniencing him by ordering drinks, then proceeds to take his sweet time making them. For the price of the drinks, I expect decent customer service at the very least. After so many terrible mentions, it seems as if this guy must have an in with the owners because he simply sucks. read more

Linda listen. You have ATX. You have SAT. Each great in their own right in terms of culinary and mixology prowess. Enter Buda, TX. Nate's could be described as country chic meets 21st century industrial look. The 3-4ish times I've been have been exceptional. Not only is the staff fantastic but if you ask nicely, the staff will share their beverage and beverage history with you. Nate, Shelly and Clarie are personable and what the ideal bar staff should be: professional, knowledgeable yet friendly and engaging. If anything, their old fashioned is a must; best I've had. While they do not have a kitchen, they do offer snacks. These are brought in daily from local businesses (sandwiches, salads, etc.) They do have meat and cheese trays they make there which are made with quality meat and cheeses. The selection changes daily so check the counter (immediately as you come in) for what they have available. 18 craft beers on tap and craft cocktails? We approve of Nate's. Buda deserves a great neighborhood bar. Like the industrial decor. Great seating inside around the bar, at tables, and outside on the patio. An abundance of Misters and fans make even an August afternoon comfortable outside. Great selection of local craft beers on tap and nice happy hour prices. The real reason we came and why we'll come back: the Bartenders. They are friendly and know what they are doing. Well crafted original and classic cocktails. We threw a few obscure requests their way and they made perfect drinks without having to consult the "googles." That will always get my crowd to become loyal repeat patrons. read more
