    Papaya salad

Was hesitant to try the Kyle location after change in ownership, the Lamar spot definitely was lacking flavors but Kyle redeemed the taste buds today! Everything was flavorful and on point! Still the best lao style papaya salad in town! Padsee ew was wok-ee and flavorful, tender beef. They have a spacious bar to grab a drink. Definitely excited to come back for crawfish season!

was recommended this place by a friend an was glad to finally try it! Not what I expected at all, they have a very nice fusion of menu items, from Thai to Cajun to bar fair. Really looking forward to going back to try more, but this time around we tried some of the recommendations from our waitress. Food was very good (I'd say "strong flavors" and a bit of a twist on what you'd expect from everything we tried), marg was a bit more on the tart side than sweet side, but the star of the show was the staff. They went above & beyond to make recommendations, take our order quickly, keep our drinks full & check in on us throughout the meal. Will be back to try more of their options next time.

Food and Drinks were delicioussss. Definitely come back again! Staff was also soooo friendly!

Welcome to Kyle! Such an amazing addition to the area. The service was very warm and friendly! They did note their menu was going to be updated to be more easier to navigate through. Make sure to order your papaya salad mild cause oh it is spicyyy! The crawfish was amazing! The crawfish was so fresh and the shrimp was huge! The best seafood boil I have had in Kyle hands down! There was a bit of a wait for the seafood boil but...so worth it! So make sure you order some appetizers to hold you over. The oyster po boy was delicious! Their food has a Thai fusion so remember to take your pure Cajun hat off and just enjoy the delicious flavors! We enjoyed the mango sticky rice too! We will be back for the friendly service and nice ambiance. The food is so good! Make sure you come early cause it gets pretty crowded in the evening.

    Asian pepper chicken wings

I came here for lunch and it was a great experience! I sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. His name was Jamie (xajme), and at first I hesitated to sit at the bar because I wanted to eat my meal in peace but Jamie gave an appropriate amount of small talk that made my experience great! I had 2 pounds of crawfish, the long horn stuffed catfish and the Asian pepper chicken wings along with a hurricane! First I was hesitant to get crawfish because I am very picky, but these crawfish were clean, juicy and big! They were mixed in with their garlic butter sauce and it was delicious! I do have to say it was a little bit too much for my liking, but It was still enjoyable. Their price per pound (March 2025) is at $11.99 a pound but they were worth it! The Long Horn stuffed catfish was full of flavor that I can't even describe, it was just super good and very worth trying out. The Asian pepper chicken wings had great flavor! It was salty, sweet and not too spicy. This wasn't the typical deep fried chicken wings but it is soaked in a sauce and it was delicious! If you like your wings crispy, this isn't for you, but if you're willing to give it a try, it's delicious! The hurricane cocktail was very pleasant and it was not too sweet but strong and it was a great touch to my meal! I've only tried these three things on the menu but I will definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu! I think this is a great addition to Kyle Texas in the seafood restaurant!

Food was good. Crawfish was a little small, maybe cause start of season. Oysters were great, bartender gave me a sauce to put on oysters that was amazing. Some kind of Thai sauce i think. Use it!!

Boiled shrimp. The server added the ice. Thank goodness he did because they were borderline overcooked. No attempt at presentation.

I was seated quickly. I've seen this place through two changes of ownership. The decor is beautiful. Two tables were seated after me and at least greeted by their server and received drinks before me. After the maitre de saw me just sitting, a man came up and said do ya know what ya want? So I gave my order, the gumbo came out quickly. It was just okay. I'm used to a bit more flavor and spice. The fish chunks were larger than I'm used to. I also ordered half dozen boiled shrimp and half dozen raw oyster combo. Oysters came out quickly and were great. Although I have never eaten oysters with a regular sized fork. That wasn't a big deal. When he set them down, he said your shrimp will be out in a moment. Later he came back and he said the kitchen said five more minutes on your shrimp. A little bit later, he came back to my table looking sheepish and said I know before that they said five minutes, but now they're saying seven minutes. When he finally brought my shrimp out, they were on a white oval plate with ice on top of them. The server said they were still hot so I put ice on them. I am glad that he did because the shrimp were to the point of being overcooked. The shells were extremely hard to get off and the shrimp had not been deveined. The only reason I might consider coming back here is for the oysters And that's only if I cannot find them too expensive. The server did take the gumbo off of my bill. I do have some grace because they are still in their soft opening phase and I did let him know about the shrimp being overcooked. But I have an aversion to eating shrimp poop that's clearly visible.

This Mango sticky rice is so warm due to rice and coconut milk with the cold mangos it's so comforting after eating your meal!!

The fries could use a little seasoning that isn't just salt because they felt a little bland next to the burger. Oh, and it's less than $13. Like where can you do and get a 1/2lb burger that actually feels like a 1/2lb for that price. Here, that's where. The waitress was super sweet and attentive. They weren't busy which was shocking. The restaurant itself could use a little more ambiance. I know it's more of a sports bar, but it is cold feeling. Knowing if there's specials would help too. They do have several TVs and apparently they do karaoke on Saturday's. Excellent lunch, will be a top of the list spot from now on.

Wow--what a hidden gem in Kyle, Texas!…read more After working late and heading to a concert, we completely skipped dinner and were starving afterward. Most places were closed except for a few chain drive-thrus, but this spot was still open and we'd been wanting to try it ever since they opened. The kitchen closes at 1:30am. Perfect timing! We ordered the chicharrones with guacamole, the Boring Burger, and the Piiggy burger with sweet potato fries. Let me start by saying: you HAVE to order the chicharrones. My husband usually doesn't even like chicharrones, but he absolutely loved these. They were freshly fried, not oily at all, super light and airy and gone in about two minutes flat. The burgers might look like typical bar burgers, but don't be fooled. They were surprisingly not greasy at all, made with fresh (not frozen) beef patties. The buns were soft yet sturdy and didn't fall apart while eating. This is what I'd call elevated bar food with great flavor and noticeable freshness. I'm not usually a burger person, but I genuinely loved these because they were fresh and not heavy or greasy. The sweet potato fries were also a win. Again, not greasy at all. Honestly, they tasted like they came out of an air fryer, which made them feel lighter and healthier. The space is great too: indoor and outdoor seating, plus a kids' play area just outside the patio, which is a huge bonus for families. Service was excellent--friendly, fast, and attentive. If you live anywhere near Kyle, you should absolutely check this place out. We'll definitely be back!

The mac was on the bland end with not a great cheesy flavor to it. My kiddo did not eat half of it. She did like the broccoli after some salt was added. You can pick from any of their sides. The kids meal comes with a popsicle as well. The area the kids were playing at was marked as a dog area and is right at the edge of a slop to a steep roll to a culvert. There are low bushes marking that edge but watch your kids when they go out there. I might swing by again for a happy hour.

We ordered wings because they have wings in their name, so we had to try that and they turned out to be very good. They were cooked to order, a good size and they drown it with your choice of sauce. I had the garlic parmesan, hubby had extra hot because they didn't have the wicked, and my so had the Jamaican jerk. We were all satisfied and very happy with what we ordered. That said I'll be brief as if you've been to Popeyes, outside of service, the food should be about the same. The sweet tea is fairly good and so are the fountain drinks. The popcorn shrimp is an ok meal. They are shrimp somewhere under all the breading, which might I add is extremely spicy, as this is their only option. The biscuit is really good, flaky and soft in the center. The homestyle mac is the best out of the sides by far. Cheesy and the pasta isn't limp at all. The fries I would skip as their usually not fresh out of the fryer but they do have some good seasoning. The red beans and rice is average at best with little seasoning and tasting like mush. The potatoes and Cajun gravy are decent. At least it doesn't taste like it's made from a box and water is added. I wish they had more than one gravy option as I don't really like the flavor. The basic chicken sandwich is BIG and tasty. One can really pick up on the buttermilk in the juicy and plump chicken breast. The mayo is good but sparse as are the pickles. The brioche bun is a good choice as it can hold the whole ensemble together. Overall, it's probably the best chicken sandwich in the fast-food game. As for fried chicken I've only had the thighs. However, those thighs are darn near perfect for fast food. Crispy and not greasy while moist and I've never had it taste as if it had been sitting out for a long time. Overall, this Popeyes is not bad at all and I've never had to wait long for my food. Quality ranges from item to item however since the chicken is the driving force, they're tops in the fast food fried game. Second trip I roll in and order the half tenders half boneless to go with a large drink. Head back to the truck and dig in. The boneless was nicely sauced and the tenders were fine with the provided dipping sauces. Sides, well there aren't many choices. Same as that Canes place. And if I'm not going back, chances are darn good that my wife isn't either. Zaxby's is on Old San Antonio Road in Buda in the midst of Fast-Food Franchise Row. Karen and I were trying this place for the first time in the two years we have lived in Turner's Crossing. The fast-food zone is very convenient to us, so it is often a last-minute destination. However, it wasn't the food that got my tighty whities in a bunch. I was flabbergasted after getting an order including wings slathered in barbecue sauce when we were told they were out of napkins. Did they expect us to wipe our fingers on our clothes? Or just lick them clean? The vinyl upholstery in the booths was beckoning, but I figured that was probably a bridge too far. An employee just shrugged her shoulders, basically wondering what we expected her to do. We told her to find some paper towels in the kitchen or refund our money and we'd go elsewhere. They found the paper towels. We also suggested that they warn customers about the lack of napkins BEFORE they order finger food covered with sauce. Food was edible but nothing to rave about. Karen had the veggie egg rolls. She finished them, but pronounced them nondescript. Certainly not worth a return visit. I had a combo plate of the nicely sauced wings and some pretty good chicken fingers. My bone-in wings were meaty and decent, but the chicken fingers and especially the fries were over-salted. Most of the chicken fingers came home with me for lunch tomorrow because I really enjoy that stuff cold too. There's also a limit to how much salt I can ingest at one sitting. The thick-cut fries were actually quite tasty, but after a few bites the salt just became overwhelming. Of course, our enjoyment may have been colored by the apparent lack of interest in paying customers. Also the decor was the most depressing of any fast-food place I have been to in the area.
