My mom and I stopped in for coffee after our work out. I love supporting local small businesses and made a point to pick a spot that neither of us had been to before. Meridian is in downtown Buda and is connected to Zoi Wellness. We were able to park in the parking lot across the street. Upon walking in, the space had a rustic loft feel with lots of greenery. The furniture made it feel very cozy. I honestly didn't expect to find a coffee shop like this in Buda. The barista was very nice and gave recommendations. My mom and I both ordered Iced Pecan Pie Lattes which was a seasonal drink that they were featuring. We ordered our drinks to go, but then decided to sit in the cafe and enjoy our beverages. The coffee is legit! We both liked our beverages. I really enjoyed the pecan flavor and the sweetness level was perfect. The barista informed us that they make all of their syrups in house. I noticed that there were plenty of outlets for work or study. There's quite a bit of seating including couches. They have QR codes at each table that you can order from which is so convenient. In addition to coffee (which is served until 5 pm), they also have wellness drinks, wine, beer and cocktails. They have a nice sized stage for live music. Meridian is a cool and funky place that shocks you in a pleasant way. It also appears to be multi-purpose venue as it is a long and a fairly wide room. First, the most eye-catching chandeliers capture your attention...bold colors with unique designs. Next, you notice a stage used for Live music. Nic, the barista, said on the weekends Meridian has Live music...one of its most popular times. The seating looks absolutely loved and lived in. We could not help but think that if we spent extended periods of time in the Meridian, we would feel comfortable. There was one unusual window that looked like it was covered with burgular bars, however, with an artistic design. Part coffee house, part bar, part music venue, this renovated 19th century renovated building has it all. What's not to love. Fantastic space? Check. Cortado? Check Beer? Check Old Fashioned? Check. Wine? Check. Great bands? Check. The bar serves good espresso drinks and some damn good cocktails. The Keller is definitely my go to - can't beat a great boozy coffee cocktail. The bands we've seen there have all been super talented. It's a pretty open space with great acoustics and really lends itself to the live music they bring. Whether there to see a live band, study, grab a coffee, grab a cocktail or grab a coffee cocktail, this is a pretty cool spot that one must stop when in Buda. read more

Meridian was a really nice place, I quite enjoyed it! I came on a Sunday after church and wasn't expecting it but they were having open mic afternoon that day, so there were several freelance musicians who played. I had a lavender pecan latte and got a cinnamon pecan latte for my mom. I sat on one of the couches; they had plenty of tables and couches. There was a light openness inside, I quite liked the vibe. The bartender/baristas were also very kind and helpful. The area itself is also very cute, right on Main Street in Buda. They do a lot of themed nights as well (live music, trivia, etc) which I really like. I'll definitely come back when in the area again! read more

Stopping off at Teal House for a great bite to eat, they tell me I have to go to Meridian to order my London Fog tea. Ok, no problem as there is a convenient shared opening between the two locations, so I just walk on over and place my order at the bar. They have a really nice bar area and there is plenty of seating in the dining area. When my order comes up, I decide to eat my croissant breakfast sandwich there so I wouldn't have to rush, and to also enjoy the meal with my tea. The London fog consists of Earl Grey tea with steamed milk (oat milk in this case) and a vanilla syrup in this case. They didn't go too heavy with the syrup, and I got to choose the milk product I wanted. Overall, this was a great companion to my breakfast sandwich from Teal House, and it was really good at a reasonable price. If you're ever in the area, you should come try Meridian out. read more

My top 3 requirements: 1)open space 2) plenty of seating 3) accessible outlets (serving good coffee is a given). Upon arriving at Meridian, I was pleasantly surprised to find all the boxes checked. You'll notice they have a stage here, and though I'm not much of a live music girlie, I could see myself coming stepping out of my comfort zone if I ever feel inclined to. We came here looking for a place to work and beat traffic back into Austin and I am so happy we stumbled into this place. The vibes are immaculate and they offer traditional coffee drinks, functional mocktails, and regular cocktails. Whatever you're looking for, they probably have it! They are also connected to a little shop with a bakery so there are plenty of snacks and pasteries to enjoy as well. Because we came here on a Friday afternoon, I decided to try their cocktails versus their coffees. This just so happened to coincide with happy hour so I got two drinks (an espresso martini and butterfly pea drink) which were both delicious . While we were wrapping up. a band was setting up to play some live music. I really enjoyed this place and wish I lived closer to Buda to be able to regularly enjoy it! read more

Each table has a QR code for placing orders, and they bring your order to the table once it's ready. I ordered an iced oat vanilla latte with regular sweetness and extra cold foam. The creamy, smooth, and not-too-sweet latte was absolutely DELICIOUS! Probably the best latte I've ever had! My boyfriend had the campfire cold brew. The coffee combined the richness and bitterness of chocolate cold brew with the creaminess of cold foam, the sweetness of honey and brown sugar, and a hint of spice from cinnamon. You can't go wrong with Sunday brunch here which I would definitely do more if I don't live so far away. My favorite coffee is the hot lavender, mushroom powder latte with oat milk. It's not too sweet and very satisfying to drink hot. My next favorite is turn pecan latte. This one has more intense coffee flavor and tastes amazing. I can't keep track of how many times I've been disappointed with these gentrified areas in Austin selling ridiculous overpriced croissants that tastes no better than buying them at Costco. But the croissants here is next level! It reminds me of Italy actually. Super flakey, crunchy, delicate and tastes incredible! My only nitpick is the filling might be too much. I tried both the almond and chocolate ones. Staff is super nice and the interior is charming and beautiful. If I'm ever close to the south Austin area, I'd drive straight to this coffee shop. A group of us met here to see The Discount Pills play as the Meridian has live music and a nice stage to perform. I'm not familiar with Buda and my GPS was running me in circles. It's on the main road with historic old buildings and in front of the railroad tracks. Easy to find parking and walk over. The menu can be viewed on line and ordering on line is easier and quicker than ordering at the counter. Then it gets brought to your table. My friends who arrived earlier mentioned it was slow ordering at the counter and had an open tab. Drinks can be pricy. Mine was $13 but so good. Coffee and tea is about half that. The place is very old school in vibe and set up with wooden table and chairs but has been updated enough. Friendly staff and good vibes all around. read more

If you can't find parking out front, you can maybe find some on side streets and across the streets but be sure to pay attention to any towing signs or other signs in general. Lots of seating. But what I didn't understand was the fact they just had one bar tender during peak hours. And you know how bartenders act: they go as slow as possible so they don't stress and they don't make any eye contact with anyone until they decide to help you. Understood as a self preservation method but that doesn't create a positive/welcoming atmosphere at the start. Everyone is waiting and no one has a drink...missing out on the performance just because they're waiting on a drink. My date and I ended up leaving and going to the attached little shop next door to pick up some kombucha and then we sat on a street bench for a more relaxing vibe. Oh, main street how I love thy little hole in the wall areas to explore. Case in point after visiting several restaurants on many repeat occasions my girlfriend and I literally found Meridian by accident one evening. Perhaps I would have missed it if I didn't hear "Dancing Queen" drifting outside, enticing me to investigate for a night capper. Upon entry I wasn't sure what the place was about however having a live band with 6 people jammed in the corner in costume belting out Abba songs while seeing coffee and adult beverages in the hands of the masses I knew I wanted to stay for a bit to soak in the atmosphere. The ambiance is an amalgamation of oddities thrown together. The stage is to the left of the entrance, stuffed in a corner while very comfy couches and lounge chairs adorn the open space with little thrift store coffee tables accenting them. I confess the lights look like tear drops and actually it reminded me of something else, a note I won't expound upon here. Likewise, the floor is a hodgepodge of designs with shelves of many different items designed to catch the wondering eyes. The left wall opens up to a connected organics store, creating a symbiotic relationship that spill over into each other. The patrons here are an eclectic yet very diverse group. Older couples, groups of 20 and 30 somethings, all shades of the melanin spectrum with everyone seeming to be very kind and open to talking. The bar is well stocked and they sell spirits and caffeine to the later hours of the evening. They have a small selection of spirits to chose from however I found it very difficult to find a menu to figure out what I wanted. I inquired from the bartender who was more interested in adjust her septum ring than attending to my inquires. When I finally got her flighty attention she was kind and answered my questions then went to what I anticipated was filling my order. After 10 minutes I asked where my cocktail was and she forgot even getting my order. I retorted "I placed an order for a Jack and coke and paid for it 10 mins ago" to which it took a while to for her to click. Please note it wasn't busy at all, in case there's any questions. Overall, the ambiance is very interesting while the music inviting and inspiring however the one staff member that attended to my orders might have been sampling too many "organics" as she was out of it. That said I'm hopeful that other staff members are a little more "in tune" with being at work as I tend to think it might have been an off night. Besides the one small hiccup this is a safe, fun and interesting establishment which I recommend giving a spin. read more

Why did it taste like there was ZERO coffee & just milk? It was gross. It wasn't sweet & where was the coffee???? This isn't the 1st either that we've ordered coffee drinks from them. Downtown Buda has a new star now. You can see how much love and care have been poured into this place. It is a new coffee/tea, bar and live music venue. Coffee is amazing. In additional to awesome cocktails, they have medicinal drinks. I have not tried it yet, but ingredients are awesome. Customer Service - Spectacular. Again - This place is rocking! Hands down one of the best sugar-free vanilla lattes I've ever had... and since I'm sugar-free right now and allergic to gluten & Sucralose I'm pretty limited on options at coffee shops! They worked with me on a custom flavoring using Stevia as the sweetener and to say it was delicious would be an understatement. The staff was fun, engaging and knowlegable. I went to see my favorite band. The essential oils and wellness concoctions were quite a surprise. Only three starts because the bartender tried to give me a champagne glass only two thirds full. I went next door to get a pastry from Teal House (love that they are attached) and had one of the best chocolate croissants ever! Huge, flaky, melty chocolate - yum and hit the spot.
