Meridian was a really nice place, I quite enjoyed it! I came on a Sunday after church and wasn't expecting it but they were having open mic afternoon that day, so there were several freelance musicians who played. I had a lavender pecan latte and got a cinnamon pecan latte for my mom. I sat on one of the couches; they had plenty of tables and couches. There was a light openness inside, I quite liked the vibe. The bartender/baristas were also very kind and helpful. The area itself is also very cute, right on Main Street in Buda. They do a lot of themed nights as well (live music, trivia, etc) which I really like. I'll definitely come back when in the area again!

Stopping off at Teal House for a great bite to eat, they tell me I have to go to Meridian to order my London Fog tea. Ok, no problem as there is a convenient shared opening between the two locations, so I just walk on over and place my order at the bar. They have a really nice bar area and there is plenty of seating in the dining area. When my order comes up, I decide to eat my croissant breakfast sandwich there so I wouldn't have to rush, and to also enjoy the meal with my tea. The London fog consists of Earl Grey tea with steamed milk (oat milk in this case) and a vanilla syrup in this case. They didn't go too heavy with the syrup, and I got to choose the milk product I wanted. Overall, this was a great companion to my breakfast sandwich from Teal House, and it was really good at a reasonable price. If you're ever in the area, you should come try Meridian out.

I will do whatever it takes to go against the direction of Austin traffic-- including finding the perfect coffee shop. My top 3 requirements: 1)open space 2) plenty of seating 3) accessible outlets (serving good coffee is a given). Upon arriving at Meridian, I was pleasantly surprised to find all the boxes checked. You'll notice they have a stage here, and though I'm not much of a live music girlie, I could see myself coming stepping out of my comfort zone if I ever feel inclined to. On either side of Meridian, you have two great breakfast options: Donut Palace or Teal House. Pro Tip: Grab something from Donut Palace if you're looking for a more cost-friendly bite

Awesome local Buda spot. By morning, an open space cafe with a medicinal store attached offering cool gifts, tinctures, and a bakery with delicious cinnamon rolls. By night, a bar and stage for live music, or perhaps a trivia night. Meridian's menu offers many unique concoctions. I have tried the vanilla pecan latte, post workout matcha, as well as a medicinal heart health mocktail. It's such a cool spot right on main st. Always friendly service as well. Highly recommend stopping by!

Visited Meridian for a music show in the space was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Nice selection of beverages. Ample seating and standing room. Look forward to see more shows here.

A cute & cozy coffee bar in Downtown Buda that transforms into a cocktail bar at night (I haven't experienced it just yet)! Each table has a QR code for placing orders, and they bring your order to the table once it's ready. I ordered an iced oat vanilla latte with regular sweetness and extra cold foam. The creamy, smooth, and not-too-sweet latte was absolutely DELICIOUS! Probably the best latte I've ever had! My boyfriend had the campfire cold brew. The coffee combined the richness and bitterness of chocolate cold brew with the creaminess of cold foam, the sweetness of honey and brown sugar, and a hint of spice from cinnamon. It was the perfect blend. Although it was a bit chilly inside, I would 100% recommend this spot!

You can't go wrong with Sunday brunch here which I would definitely do more if I don't live so far away. My favorite coffee is the hot lavender, mushroom powder latte with oat milk. It's not too sweet and very satisfying to drink hot. My next favorite is turn pecan latte. This one has more intense coffee flavor and tastes amazing. I can't keep track of how many times I've been disappointed with these gentrified areas in Austin selling ridiculous overpriced croissants that tastes no better than buying them at Costco. But the croissants here is next level! It reminds me of Italy actually. Super flakey, crunchy, delicate and tastes incredible! My only nitpick is the filling might be too much. I tried both the almond and chocolate ones. Staff is super nice and the interior is charming and beautiful. If I'm ever close to the south Austin area, I'd drive straight to this coffee shop. It's definitely worth the extra drive.

The amazing ceiling fixtures that cast light so beautifully.

A group of us met here to see The Discount Pills play as the Meridian has live music and a nice stage to perform. I'm not familiar with Buda and my GPS was running me in circles. It's on the main road with historic old buildings and in front of the railroad tracks. Easy to find parking and walk over. The menu can be viewed on line and ordering on line is easier and quicker than ordering at the counter. Then it gets brought to your table. My friends who arrived earlier mentioned it was slow ordering at the counter and had an open tab. Drinks can be pricy. Mine was $13 but so good. Coffee and tea is about half that. The place is very old school in vibe and set up with wooden table and chairs but has been updated enough. Friendly staff and good vibes all around.

Our server was very attentive and offered coffee refills on the regular. The restaurant itself and bar are so well decorated. It's such a comfortable place. What makes it even better is they have a huge covered outdoor area for overflow or if you just want to sit outside. Everything about Taste on Main makes it one of my favorites in the area. Below par for the Chicken fried steak w potatoes, green beans (flavorless) and I don't know but I expected the Ceviche salmon to be..more. Not entirely a bad experience. Though I feel like I should crawl back into the dark, dank dive bars that I know best, it's a gorgeous breath of fresh air for those good hair days. Generous parking lot, easy off the highway, good evening hours. The only thing I'll knock it for is being so far south! This entire place feels like a cash grab following the mezcal trend. It's positioned as being a tequila/mezcal spot but their drinks are more basic than cocktails I can order at the airport. When I asked questions about the mezcal they use and offer the bartenders replies were always dealt with either annoyance and limited info or just an "I don't know." Plus it's $$$ you tip on top of the tip they already add but say nothing about? The basic cocktails that are known as Mexican street vendor drinks (not supposed to be $$$) can cost you over $20 alone! Then to be shady about tipping ... cash grab without a good experience. The there's the atmosphere... very limited parking shared with MANY other more busy bars, super loud inside because of no soft surfaces, and the worst part of all... the bench seats are built just tall enough that unless you're super tall, you'll have to sit at the edge of the bench and actively practice good posture. This more than the other things makes me want to leave immediately. You designed a bar to be pretty but in no way functional to its use. It's been a while since my last visit and honestly I chalked all this up to Austin's trend chasing entrepreneurs typical disconnected launch until I had AMAZING cocktails at another new spot that truly impressed with their same priced cocktails that were far far more intricate and creative PLUS they didn't try to con me out of more tip AND their space was warm, and inviting with truly exceptional customer service. That experience reminded me that inflation isn't the only thing making life more expensive ... it's also businesses delivering far less value than promised and demanding we are supremely grateful for their limited effort. If you don't want to leave the neighborhood but you still want a somewhat decent margarita .... it ain't here. Pay half the price at Bodhi's in the same parking lot.

The name of the restaurant should have been self explanatory: Ocean Blue OYSTER bar, but it was anything but. I didn't know how to navigate the menu-- there's Thai food, but also cajun food?? I opted for a little bit of everything: a pound of garlic butter crawfish, papaya salad, and their crawfish étouffée. But... even with a full spread of dishes, not a single thing was good. I love a good leftover, but it wasn't even worth salvaging. WHY: The crawfish had zero flavor. Making crawfish is an art, and the artist here is clearly a novice--you can tell it was rushed. The papaya salad should have been light and refreshing, but boy, the fish sauce overwhelmed every bite. Lastly the étouffée... was far from an actual etoufee. The roux was off, the texture was more like gumbo SOUP, and I barely found any crawfish in it.
