Pie Society is a really great spot to check out if you're just outside of San Antonio and looking for something a little different. One of my favorite things is that they offer pizza by the slice, depending on what they're serving that day -- and from what I understand, they always have pepperoni slices available, which is a plus. When you walk in, you can actually see them making the pizza from scratch, including hand-stretching the dough and tossing it in the air. It's a fun and unique touch that adds to the experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a good amount of seating both inside and outside. Since this is Texas, outdoor seating can be a bit of a gamble weather-wise, but it's nice to have the option.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking can be a little tricky, but when we went on a Sunday night, it wasn't bad at all. The service was great -- everyone was friendly, helpful, and very attentive, which made the visit even better. They also have a solid selection of alcohol and seasonal drinks, which pairs well with the pizza. For the kids, we grabbed a cookie, and it was very delicious -- definitely recommend it as a sweet treat after your meal. Overall, if you're in the area and want to try a place that's a bit out of the ordinary, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Pie Society and giving it a try.

Pizza SO GOOD, the review skips straight to the main course! With a pizza dough foundation only a legit craft baker could perfect! Firm and chewy, the perfect conveyance of explosive tasting toppings! The justice! House-Made Fennel Sausage, New York Pepperoni, Local Mushrooms, Red Onion & Ricotta! Shut the front door!!!! The fennel sausage is not for the light hearted!!! Amazing fennel accentuates the flavors, and the ricotta bombs balance it out. The 78-666! Italian Sausage, Pepperoni & Bacon! Holy Mother of Pizza! So simple yet so perfect. I find myself taking my time so I could enjoy each flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cool vibe, great service! It is a new "Must-Stop" location when I'm in town![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Woah! These pizzas are huge! And lucky for me they have Vegan pizzas!!! Yay! We came in on a weekend for dinner, and waited a bit longer than expected but in the end it was all good because the pizza was excellent! I don't know where to start because I feel I could rave about this place for days. I noticed this place when I came to this strip mall for ramen. The parking is horrible in this small area and I had to park at the opposite end of the restaurant where I was going. But it was a lucky break because I had to walk past this restaurant and the smells wafting out immediately caught my attention. I took a mental note and told myself I'd be back to check it out. I didn't wait long because I came back the next day! One of the best decisions I've made recently. First let me say the customer service here is amazing. You're greeted walking in. I was met immediately to take my to go order. In the (about) 20 minutes while waiting, I kid you not, I was asked if I wanted water no less than 4 times! And the employees never stopped moving. Everyone was busy but very friendly. This place is obviously a well oiled machine. It's apparent it has to be because there was a crowd and a steady stream of people coming and going for pickup/to go orders. Also, they are making their own dough here! I was impressed watching one of the employees tossing the dough but then noticing they were making dough in the middle of the day; I didn't think I could be more impressed. But then I noticed they were also making their own sauce! I had to confirm what I was seeing so I asked the manager and he confirmed they do make their sauce and dough. And let me tell you, the final product shows all their hard work. There is not one thing the nitpick or say they can improve on. This is PIZZA. When you have a dream where you're having pizza, and it's just the most perfect TV type pizza you can imagine and you wake up thinking "pizza doesn't look and taste like that in real life!" THIS is the pizza you dreamed about. The crust, the toppings, the char....I can't even describe. It's perfect new york pizza. I got the Perry Mason. It's a familiar pizza to me because it's similar to a pizza I used to get from a place in downtown austin. But this one has hot honey. I wasn't ecstatic about that so I got it on the side. But boy oh boy did they teach me! My world opened after trying the savory pizza (gorgonzola sauce, prosciutto, spinach, pear and caramelized onion) with the hot and sweet honey. I didn't imagine I would like that but I'm so glad I learned something. I also got their goat cheese appetizer and again, they had to teach me about combos I never gave a chance. First let me say, this was an impressive appetizer. It came with a whole head of roasted garlic!!! It was such a beautiful sight to behold when I unwrapped the foil. There was also some pretty crostini, honey and marinara sauce. I kind of put the marinara to the side but my curiosity got the best of me and I'm grateful it did because the bite was so elevated! My meal from here was so satisfying, I wondered if it was possible for this meal to be better if I'd had it in restaurant or been able to eat it as soon as I got home instead of having to wait a little because I had an appointment. I'm going to definitely go back and dine in...for research purposes ofcourse. Someone has to do it, and I offer myself and my time.

Spindle Tap Festbier, little too sweet to pair with the pie
    Kevin E.

Offering a small, but excellent set of draft brews, this pizza joint may be one of our new faves in town. The goat cheese starter is delish, but maybe a little too hands on. Hand pressing the garlic makes it difficult share with someone you don't know too well. The calzone is excellent and I can't get enough of that red sauce. Only downside was the tea; tasted stale. But I guess that happens.

So I came here to work an event. It's a cute little place in San Marcos and they are constantly making all the pizzas fresh and it was nice that they sell by the slice as well. You don't have to buy a whole pie. The people that work there super nice I spoke with the manager that I was gonna do the event and he was so nice and offered me and the other guy was working with each of a free slice of pizza so we can try them out. I got the holy Grail and it was delicious. My friend got a regular pepperoni which she said was very good too. We told management that they need to open this in Austin because I'm not gonna lie. It beat a lot of places here in Austin. So if you're out in San Marcos, stop here and get yourself some pizza. They also have a full bar if you wanna have drinks and they always have really good specials.

    Combination Pizza

While shopping at the outlets, I was craving pizza and stumbled into Pie Society--and wow, what a find! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and offered great suggestions. We ordered two pizzas: a classic cheese and a loaded combination. The pizzas were massive, piled high with fresh toppings, and baked to perfection. Now, I usually skip cheese pizza, but this one completely won me over--the sauce had just the right tang, the cheese was gooey and flavorful, and the crust was that perfect balance: light, airy, and crisp without being too thick. The combination pizza was bold and hearty, every bite packed with flavor. To top it all off, I tried an Old Austin, and it was the perfect pairing--smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I needed. Between the friendly service, generous portions, and downright delicious food, Pie Society has officially earned a spot on my "must-return

Build Your Own Cheese Pie with Fresh Jalapeños, Pepperoni, and Feta Cheese

Beginning with the service was great, the worker was nice and very courteous. As for the food, we ordered the Oath Calzone and the Custom Pie! It was AMAZING!!! The pizza was fresh, light, and extremely delicious! It was a New York styled pie, and was approved from my New Yorker Dad! Anyways, it was cheesy, and the marinara sauce was flavorful and not too sweet. The crust was crispy, airy, and had a crunchy texture. As for the Calzone... wow. The Calzone was filled with premium, meaty ingredients that made every bite savory and fantastic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the restaurant was unique, and had an urban vibe to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was just an overall amazing experience, and I hope everyone can enjoy Pie Society!

It's a small place back in a corner, so I see how I missed it before. While I waited they let me sample a small cone of their homemade ice cream. It was chocolate cinnamon. It was not bad, but not something that I would have put together. The ice cream was creamy and it they had another flavor I would have bought some! For me, Gumby's was a frequent ritual of petsitting. Sharing pizza crusts with pups and treating myself to a mule and Mountain Dew wasn't fine dining but it was consistent quality and reliable delivery after a day of work and familiar as I settled in at any of several addresses across town.
