They have dumped their in house platform for Toast and you can no longer: *Split ingredients to left or right side on a build-your-own pizza or adding to a specialty pizza *Buy extra dressings for your big salad *Have adult beverages delivered with ID I assume you also can no longer pay cash for delivery either but I'm not curious enough to hit the checkout button to see if it lets me choose before charging a card on file. You CAN split a pizza into two specialty halves. The prices of the two-topping calzone, garden salad, and 3pc tender haven't gone up, which is nice, and the tenders still include a wing sauce AND dipping sauce but cream cheese is no longer a dip option. Specialty items like t-shirts are still listed but at zero dollars and you can't select a size so....perhaps it's still under construction. I doubt it, since my email coupons have also coincidentally dried up recently although the revolving weekly text offers have continued (as of 30 JULY 2026). I hope they still have in-house delivery drivers, because they've always been great people. Perhaps nothing has changed within the brick and mortar, and I truly wish y'all a great time of it. For me, Gumby's was a frequent ritual of petsitting. Sharing pizza crusts with pups and treating myself to a mule and Mountain Dew wasn't fine dining but it was consistent quality and reliable delivery after a day of work and familiar as I settled in at any of several addresses across town. Fast forward to this weekend: I visited San Marcos with a friend who had never been before, and she wanted pizza. We had a couple of options, but Gumby's was the more convenient choice. We decided to try two slices of the Pickle Rick, and this pizza was great! The flavor combination was perfect. To top it off, the manager was training a new employee during the Friday night dinner rush around 8:30pm, even showing her where the trash cans were while customers were waiting forever for their food. This pizza/wings/beer hall just a couple blocks away from Texas State was worth the visit. People are friendly as I mentioned it was my first visit and the young man up front went over my options either off the menu where they have your basic pizza (including a massive one) with a craft beer bar; as well as "other stuff" which include wings, calzones, etc. I will tell if I was back in college this would have been a go-to for me as it's possible also just to order a slice and be in and out cheaply (you can get a cheese slice for $3.29). With just my daughter and I we got the 12" pizza. They have specialty recipes already so that you can save brain cells. The blockhead at $14.99 makes for an easy choice for me as it's your basic meat lovers style. Crust is that perfect blend of cooked and dough-y with a great flavor. I also thought I'd give the wing a chance, in part because I didn't know if the pizza would be enough. Eight bone-in wings at $14.99 seems a tad high and I'd rather get the full pizza for that amount if I had to choose. But the chili flavor that I got was great. Turns out the pizza would have been enough as we had 3 pieces leftover so it's pretty decently filling. Turns out you have to order the beer separate from the food so I went to the bar to check out the craft beers. They had maybe 20 or so available. Being so close to Austin I thought what would be better than the McCanau-Haze. It's like an IPA that already has the orange squeezed in....I believe it was just under $6 for the glass. I could see this being a multi-purpose place for college kids, and turned out to be a decent, low-key place for local families that were there as well as maybe a parent visiting their kid close to campus. I've ate at Gumby's 2-3 times in the past couple months with friends who live in the area. Each time we've witnessed counter staff eating meals at the bar with their hands and then warm up slices using their bare hands to get pizza in and out of the oven. The lunch staff do not attempt to wash their hands after eating and helping customers. Our last straw was a week ago when a female staff was eating a sandwich and then wiped her mouth with her hand (not a napkin) before helping us. There was zero thought of her washing her hands. The first time I went to Gumby's Pizza, it was good. The food was excellent, and the wait time wasn't long. The only problem I had was the staff was quite mean and unhelpful. She rushed us when we were not even at the register to order. The restaurant is nicely decorated, though. The second time, I ordered takeout, and it was miserable. I asked for the jalapeño popper pizza, and half of it did not have sauce or cheese. For starters, there is no Jalapeño Ranch..... if that weren't bad enough, the rolls are just gross. Basically a low fat cheese stick with 3 pepperonis wrapped in dough. I can't even describe how disappointed I am with this location and how I long for the College Station Gumby's with the owner who actually cares about food quality and taste.
