My spouse and I got dinner, and I got the veggie sub and Greek salad. It was an amazing combination. In the first place, the veggie sub had breaded, fried artichoke hearts that made a wonderfully textured and flavorful main to the sandwich, and of course, the bread is delightfully chewy -- which you can see in the bread machine that they have on site. But the star of the show was the Greek salad. It was amazing: a light, crisp explosion of Mediterranean flavors into my palate. Seriously, peppercinis, vinaigrette, olives, and artichokes give the whole thing a wonderfully acidic flavor, but not overly so, and the feta is a fantastic accompaniment. Seriously, if light and crispy are your Thing, you should have this salad. It's always great for a restaurant to have vegetarian options, and Valentino's delivers. read more

We were coming down to the last meals of his visit and Mr R absolutely lit up when I asked if he wanted Valentino's again. He repeated his beloved veggie sub with its fried artichoke hearts and tried their Greek salad this time. I chose spicy mortadella and couldn't pass up the chance for us both to try the current feature, fried green tomato. The chips are back in the container with the subs (which can have varying results depending on how juicy your sub is, but they're undeniably tasty). Mr R was so happy with his veggie sub again and THRILLED with the Greek salad. At first I wondered if they used 'nduja but I believe I spied Calabrian peppers on the bread--whatever the source, a decent burn kicks in after a delay on the mortadella. A lovely cool slaw atop which proved pretty juicy. Very nice. If this is your first time with mortadella, know that frying it makes it exquisite and you should definitely try that sometime. But it was the fried green tomato sub* which had me sounding like a remake of When Harry Met Sally, the perfect golden fry on gently tart green tomatoes interspersed with chunks of feta and a light ripe tomato relish had me making sounds that would have been embarrassing if we'd chosen to eat at the restaurant. Mr R agreed when he got his half. That is definitely on the keeper list. Mr R said his real sugar soda was lovely. Outside of some chips and the last bites of spicy mortadella sub that became a cold morning snack, we cleaned UP and slept soundly on bellies full of the good stuff. I was told a while back that I needed to try their Italian Sub, and mannnnn... this is quite possibly the best item on their menu! From the meat combination to the perfectly toasted bread to the not too vinegarry oils they use, this sammich was a surprise home run, & imho they have the best Italiano Sub in SM! read more

We've been promising to try this pizza spot for over 2 years now. We stopped in today to give them a try. They have a nice cocktail menu and several beers on tap. The glass of red wine I chose was pretty bad. It was also ice cold, which should never be the case. I ordered the ricotta pizza without the onion. My husband ordered the usual pepperoni. We asked that our to go supreme be put in when our pizzas came to the table. Our server was very nice about taking the wine off of our bill as they were out of the second choice. Our pizzas came and my husband was very pleased with his pizza. Mine just needed something, maybe the onion that I left off? I'm not sure but I was very disappointed in my choice. We finished what we could eat and asked how the to go pizza was coming along when our server came by.... She didn't put the order in so we went ahead and cancelled it. We got a classic pepperoni and garlic knots on Friday evening. I like the thinness of the pizza, it was very seasoned so very salty, the cheese wasn't cheesing, and the garlic knots were hard. Almost like eating dried up play dough. Dr. Pepper was flat so switch to sprite. I did like the ranch and the marinara sauce. The atmosphere and service were good. I personally didn't enjoy the food and left disappointed and craving didn't hit. Honestly I'm not a fan of thin and crispy pizza so I wasn't really a fan of the jalapeño slice I ordered, but my girlfriend loved the pepperoni slice she ordered and the ranch was good and thick. I heard about this place because of their $1 Wing Wednesdays. My GF and I went yesterday for said promotion. Parking on The Square was fast and easy; we parked literally across from restaurant. Granted, it wasn't a weekend night, was but only 7:10 p.m. CDT. The restaurant was cozy and smelled good--like a pizza joint would. Our waitress was nice, patient, presentable, and helpful. She happily took our request to split the pizza in halves by side (because we both don't agree on olives). However, the wings were spicy some and I did have to get up to seek her for a refill on our beverages. Aside from that minor problem, she was worth the tip. The music they played, mostly alternative rock, was great too! Exactly up my lane. The wings were delicious-especially for being a buck a piece. Not like Pluckers or WingStop, but better than Domino's and Chinese buffets. 6.5/10, given a very objective rating. 8.3/10 for being $1 each. Flavor was on point. The pizza menu took me surprise. They had vegan cheese you could substitute onto them. Very much worth the extra $2 for anyone who knows L-I firsthand. In terms of its taste and texture, obviously, not as good as real dairy, but pretty great for vegan cheese. The pizza was as delicious as the wings. Not too saucy, not too thin, and given good portions for toppings. I appreciated the free refill they offer on drinks too. In short, specifically in context of $1 Wing Wednesdays, the value, service, and quality of the dinner was amazing. Pizzas are steep on price some, NGL, but it is what is. We ordered a large half pepperoni/half sausage pie. Might have been a dozen total pieces of tiny pepperoni on the one side and even less sausage on the other. Cheese?!?! Where's the cheese?
